    Re: Random Wrestling Talk

One of the more notable passages in the book features Bryan recalling an instance of disrespect, as he tells the story of former WWE star Ezekiel Jackson bullying Bryan into giving up an aisle seat during a flight to WrestleMania.

Bryan says he never really experienced any disrespect from another superstar in WWE, until the plane ride to ‘Mania. Bryan says he was sitting in an aisle seat, when Jackson, who now works as Big Ryck in Lucha Underground, asked “which one of you rookies has an aisle seat?” Bryan responded by saying he did, to which Jackson said “not anymore you don’t”. Jackson was upset that he had a middle seat, and when Bryan said “what do you mean?”, Jackson said “I’m taking it [the seat].”

Bryan said he had already been in a bad mood from the previous night, and didn’t feel like taking any “shit”, so he stood up to Jackson and said “no, actually, you’re not.” Bryan added he would have gladly given up the seat had Jackson asked nicely.

When Jackson got angry with Bryan’s response, Bryan revealed William Regal stood up and chastised Jackson. Regal told Jackson Bryan is like a son to him, and that Bryan has more talent in his little finger than Jackson does in his entire body.

With that, Jackson relented and walked away.
That would’ve been amazing if anyone recorded it. I know it shouldn’t be surprising that an ex-football player or bodybuilder, whatever Ezekiel is, has no awareness beyond what’s directly in front of him in WWE. But it still sounds stupid this guy with, what, 2 years experience(?) is trying to intimidate anyone, let alone Bryan Danielson of all people.

I actually quite liked Big Zeke but that is hilarious him calling Danielson a rookie of all things

I'm not really into wrestling books but I can see Danielson's being good, he's had such an interesting career
Talk about the best matches of the year here:

I can see where Jackson is coming from as I imagine all of the NXT rookies were treated in a similar way with the rest of the locker room under the assumption that it was fine to do. Unfortunately for Jackson (Especially with his 2 years of experience), the "Rookie" with the aisle seat ended up being the one rookie that you wouldn't want to big league.

Lmao is Bryan the second coming of Brock Lesnar? I would say he would be the obvious target because of his size.

If you bothered to read the excerpt Marketh posted, it was because he had the aisle seat, nothing to do with his size.

And I stand by my point. Bryan had been in the business for many years by that point while Jackson was barely not a rookie himself. Out of all of the NXT Rookies in season 1, Bryan was not only the one with the most experience, by quite a bit, but he actually had a name. On that of that, he had those connections to important men like Shawn Michaels and William Regal. Go big league someone like Heath Slater.

Previous experience in non WWE organisations does not count. You have to prove yourself in the big leagues and in front of the boss. Point taken about the connections though. Bryan is very smart and political animal. I read an interview with him praising WWE, not burning any bridges and keeping the door open for eventual return. Punk should learn from him.

Except Jackson literally got told off by William Regal for what he said to Bryan. As I said, don't big league Bryan.

This has nothing to do with proving yourself in front of the boss...Just don't big league anyone, not only the one who is friends with Regal.

You're the one who brought up that part that has nothing to do with anything.

Punk burned his bridges and WWE still wanted him back, sounds like he doesn't have anything to learn

Except it earned Bryan the respect that he has that caused Jackson to receive the verbal beating he received from William Regal.

That's an assumption on your part. Good on Regal for defending him, I hope he would've done the same for every rookie, not only the one with the biggest name outside of the WWE.

Regal clarified in an interview shortly after this story came out that he wouldn’t.
