This is pretty much a supercard so I'm gonna treat it as one. Should be a very fun two nights of wrestling with Omega/Danielson obviously the marquee attraction here.

I cannot wait for this. The stadium is gonna look so unique and the atmosphere of the NY crowd will turn it up to 11.

    Re: AEW Grand Slam - 9/22 & 9/24 2021

This could be a sign of the future where having the 2 shows allows them to run essentially a 4 hour PPV level card on TV instead of bumping up the number of actual PPVs in the year. Something like Fyter Fest next year could be N1 on Dynamite and N2 on Rampage for example.

Obviously the big draw is Kenny Vs Bryan both from an in-ring perspective and a booking one because any result is a possibility. My prediction would be a 20 minute time limit draw A) because they haven't done one in a while and it suits the rivalry to build to something bigger down the line and B) because I think some of those other matches won't go too long so I could see that Bryan/Omega main event starting in Quarter 7.

Very interested to see Punk Vs Hobbs, hard to get much of a different opponent to Darby than Hobbs, and I expect Punk's great selling to be on show here in a good match.

Sting/Darby Vs FTR is probably my 3rd most anticipated match. Loved the beatdown segment last week.

Good shout on the draw, Dynamite having only 5 matches would lean to that, especially as I don't see the tag match and MJF/Pillman going long.

Wonder if Sting/Darby continue their winning streak? FTR are certainly more protected than their previous opponents, and you gotta believe they're gonna be in the tag title picture soon now the Bucks aren't champs.

Strong card, AEW's strength is making me interested in matches I wouldn't otherwise want to watch, but I am here for both shows. The stadium looked great for the US Open, should be really cool to see pro wrestling there. I think the call of a draw for Bryan vs Omega is on the money, I see them wanting to do this as a long-term rivalry with this as the first chapter, which is something different for AEW who are usually one and done for their big matches.

Yeah I can see FTR pinning Sting to get the bragging rights they went over a huge name. Sting doesn’t need to be going over a strong team like them and wouldn’t be great for Darby to eat another loss right after Punk. Would be a big win for FTR if they’re going into a Lucha Bros title feud.

Echo the sentiments about what a card this is. If it’s a draw, Dragon/Omega is probably one of the few matches fans would be perfectly ok with not having a decisive finish. Also looking forward to the Cody/Malakai rematch which hopefully Malakai wins again, just more competitively.

Possibly 19,000 fans for this, should be a fantastic atmosphere.

    Re: AEW Grand Slam - 9/22 & 9/24 2021

How the arena/stadium looks on TV is probably what I'm most excited for, even with Omega vs Bryan happening. Wrestling usually has basketball arenas or larger gym halls so different venues are always going to intrigue the mind.

This whole set of shows looks good. There is nothing I'm particularly dreading to see, except the Jericho Tag match, and the obvious big matches look interesting to say the least. Bryan vs Omega has a draw written all over it but that means 20 minutes of uninterrupted Bryan Danielson and Punk looked really good against Darby so him going against a completely different opponent should show where Punk is truly at.

The card looks good and with Arthur Ashe being such a visually impressive stadium this has the makings of a really good pair of shows. I’m also on board with the Omega/Bryan draw as it can set up future bouts between the two, possibly for the title at some point.

Both these shows should be absolute bangers. Some really tasty matches happening. Really looking forward to them!

Not sure if it's my eyes, but am I right in saying that neither Bryan nor Punk are on the poster for this event? Weird.

TBF, these shows were announced before Punk and Bryan arrived, there's probably an up-to4date one out there. Besides, do posters really matter these days?

Eddie Kingston doing what he does best. I know the feud is Moxley vs NJPW, but I’d hope there’s a great pop in it for Kingston getting the hometown win in front of the biggest crowd he’s worked.

It'll never get old to me how when AEW first originated it, a lot of people were like "well where are they gonna get guys who can talk, where are they gonna get guys who can invoke emotion, tell a story, nobody wants to watch a bunch of gymnastic geeks".

I think it's fair to say now AEW has equal, if not better promo guys than WWE. Kingston is one-of-a-kind.

Hard to judge because of all the limitations WWE puts on its performers. The actual skill level is probably close to equal but since AEW lets their guys go more off the cuff and speak from the heart, AEW is far better in the promos department.

Working tomorrow but decided to watch live until at least Dragon/Omega so hoping they continue their trend of opening with the most anticipated match. Looking forward to seeing what 20k+ attendance looks like in this place.
