WWE returning to live events July 16

    From WWE's website.

WWE will return to Live Event touring with a 25-city schedule through Labor Day. The tour will debut this July in Texas with a trio of shows:

Friday, July 16: SmackDown – Toyota Center in Houston

Sunday, July 18: Money In The Bank – Dickies Arena in Fort Worth

Monday, July 19: Raw – American Airlines Center in Dallas

Tickets for the live events in Houston, Fort Worth and Dallas go on sale this Wednesday, May 26 at 11 a.m. ET.

Additional tour stops and on-sale dates will be announced in the coming weeks
Was just a matter of time for this. I'm mostly interested to see if WWE will change their booking tactics now that they're back in front of live crowds.

Kind of amazed they were as restrained as they were not rushing the fans back, given what we know about the company.

I'm guessing Vince enjoyed being able to control crowd reactions and didn't have to worry about his top faces being shit on constantly by the crowd.

It’s weird that they’re wasting their first live event on the go home Smackdown.

I read that Fox were pushing them to get fans back, seeing as all their other sports have.

    1000% this.

Every pro sport had limited fans in the building going back to last Fall. Their own contemporary in AEW has had selective fans in attendance for quite a while. I'm sure WWE would love to write it off as being 'overly-cautious' but anyone who knows them knows that's a fucking laugh. They invested a lot of money into Thunderdome and it gave them a perfectly sanitized environment devoid of real fan reaction to do as they please, and they get the positive PR of being the Covid-safe good guys (as long as you ignore literally everything else about how they handled the pandemic).

Anyway it'll be good to have some real energy in the building again. Going from Wrestlemania to the Raw after was an excruciating contrast and turned me back off of the product almost immediately.

I said it earlier in the year and I still maintain that if WWE could find a sustainable way to keep the thunderdome going for good (or at least implement something similar) they 100% would. The ability to control everything down to the fan's reactions is Vince's dream.
