Now this is going to take some thinking. Two of my favourites, with positives and negatives to each of them.

Jeff has much lower lows, but he's also one of my favourite tag workers ever and has been excellent in the right singles environment.

Slaughter is someone I've really grown to appreciate over the years. His selling and bumping is right up there.

I can be swayed either way here. I'll wait to hear other's thoughts

Prime Sarge always feels must-see whenever I watch him. He was a great heel and tremendous babyface - his WWF babyface run is maybe one of the best pure babyface runs of the era. That Shiek match still holds up as one of the best WWE matches ever. Fuck, I'm not even American and that aftermath still gets my blood pumping and is one of the most tremendous things I've seen in wrestling.

Tough break for Jeff but too many years spent in the gutter hurt him against a guy with such a strong peak.

Hard to pick between the two. Both had their bright sparks and had their lows. Right now, I'm leaning Jeff because of the Punk feud as well as all the Hardy Boyz matches.

Went with the Sarge, as I've enjoyed his work much more than Hardy's over the years. Won't be surprised to see him lose here, though.

Had a good think about it and I went for Jeff. He might have had some stinking years, but he's half of my favourite team ever, and his singles stuff is enjoyable enough for me.

Love Slaughter though, and people definitely need to give him a lot of love. He rules.

Agree with this. Can't vote against Sarge in this one, as much as I appreciate Jeff.
I have a plan so cunning......

Slaughter's overness in 1984 is insane.

Re: WCBNAINWOATT Round 1: Jeff Hardy vs Sgt. Slaughter

In such a tight match I don't think I can cast a vote here because I'm not going to be able to watch enough Sarge to get a feel for this and I don't want to vote him out unjustly.

    BUT

I did find time tonight to watch the Shiek match that Steve put over big time just because I've never seen Sarge wrestle and now is as good a time as any to check him out. I wouldn't say one of the best WWF matches ever, but it's a great babyface performance, they both have the crowd in the palm of their hands and that bump over the top rope really caught me by surprise. He definitely stands out like someone I'd like from that era where I don't tend to like too many WWF wrestlers.

Sarge is great. Was great before WWF and even in WWF took a horrendous gimmick and managed one of Hogan's best all time matches during it.

Jeff sucks. He's like RVD and I never was a fan. This is very easy for me.
