WWE NXT Your NXT Top & Bottom Five

Pretty straightforward. Who are your five favorite current talents in NXT, and why? There's a plethora of talents of various shape, size, and ability on our lovely development brand. Who immediately gets your attention the second their theme music hits for all the right reasons?

To counteract, who are your least favorite NXT talents, and why? Bonus points: Don't be too harsh on the lads, this is a developmental brand first and foremost, so why not point out areas where these bottom five could improve in to the point where they could be redeemed in your eyes?*

*Improving Alex Riley by throwing him facefirst into a woodchipper is not entirely valid, no matter how badly you want it to be.

Let's try to keep it modern. If your favorite guy is someone who appeared once in 2013 and disappeared into dust since then, all the more power to you, but for the rest of us, let's keep it within the past six months. And tag teams count as one, because I said so.

inb4 every FAV FIVE list is the 'Indy Five' and every BOTTOM FIVE list is nothing but Alex Riley repeated five times.

Re: Your NXT Top & Bottom Five

    Okay, this should be fun!

Just a heads up, I left off Adrian Neville since I think he might be done with NXT. If this was put up months earlier, he'd probably be my number two or three. Without further ado...

    NXT Top Five

    1. Kevin Owens - Holy shit. Three months in and the guy runs NXT. He is killing it on every aspect. His current character is really unique. A despicable, dominating bully that is only causing pain and trauma to every one he wants because he wants to put food on the table for his family. Even though he's only had like, five matches, his matches have been booked to make him look like a force to be reckoned with. And his two matches with Neville and the Zayn match are really good and demonstrate how well Owens can work and show off his Brock Lesnar-like presence in NXT. The Owens Era is an era I can get behind for a long time.

    2. Sami Zayn - I actually thought about leaving off Zayn because I don't know how much time he has left in NXT but I imagine that his saga with Steen isn't over, and there might be another NXT Championship reign in his future. When Sami is left off a show, it really effects an episode of NXT. Even if the show ends up being good, the show still has an essence of something missing. That's how important Sami has been for NXT. What has been Sami's worst match in NXT? Has he even had an average match in NXT? He's dazzling, he's loved by everyone, and the end of the Neville feud and the Owens feud has showed off Zayn's ability to cut really passionate and intense promos.

    3. Tyler Breeze - Remember when I used to hate Tyler Breeze? He has come a long way from just being a good character worker. He used to be really mediocre at best, even at the start of his Tyler Breeze gimmick. The Sami Zayn match last year was his litmus test, and he's had some pretty successful follow-up tests afterwards. The Hideo Itami series has been really solid, Hideo's best stuff since coming into the company, and I'm glad this feud is something that exists because it was REALLY looking like they had nothing for Tyler with the additions of the international stars. I still don't like the Beauty Shot as a finisher, even if it's gotten some sort of legitimacy. But he's an ace gimmick worker that has finally found his groove as a solid ring performer.

    4. Kalisto - I guess he's main roster bound too even if he's only be on the C and D shows. This guy is magical. It bums me out that The Lucha Dragons were kind of mixed with the Full Sail crowd. Although it was best to push Kalisto with a tag team at the time of his arrival, he hasn't had the best partners. Hunicara is good and he's a massive step up from El Local, but he seems so uninspired and gassed out there sometimes. Kalisto alone is one hell of a worker. His match with Tyler this past week has shown how dazzling Kalisto could be by himself and that he can get more over by himself with his impressive arsenal. Although I fear for how he could get booked, there is massive potential for Kalisto to be a huge merchandise pusher and marketing target for the company.

    5. Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady - Is this kind of cheap? I had to include both of these guys. Enzo is one of a kind. He oozes charisma and has one of the most captivating looks in wrestling history. He may not be a ring general, but he's the king of smack talking and getting crowds to pop. He should end up being an amazing non-wrestler if he ever went to the main roster. I also had to include Colin because he has grown into his role noticeably well. He somehow matches Enzo's enthusiasm and presence when they deliver their act upon the audience. And he's not a bad in-ring worker. He's kind of a bad ass. There would be danger of 95 Diesel quality if rushed, but with his look, newly well developed mic skills, and ever improving ring work, he's got the look of an upper-mid carder and possibly a future World Title contender. How's that for a bold claim?

    NXT Bottom Five

    1. Baron Corbin - This push is somehow worse than Mojo Rawley's 15 Minutes of Fame. He adds nothing good to the show. His "menacing" look isn't as intimidating as it tries to come off. The 30 second squashes burned out quick. He was put into a feud with someone who could have been a solid revolving heel for the main event scene in NXT, made him look like a massive bitch, and is now seemingly back to nonsense squashes. He's heading into Mason Ryan territory where he'll just come around once in awhile to continue to look strong against better talents and his momentum will go nowhere.

    2. Alex Riley - No shit, right? Worst commentator in the WWE in a while and this was also the same company that had a heel play-by-play announcer for major events for a solid year. And Tony Dawson. And Matt Striker turning into an IWC smark on commentary before his departure. Riley sucked on commentary. He buried faces way too hard, he compares EVERYTHING to professional sports, he spouts out the lamest facts, and goddammit if I had to hear him drop that line about if you looked up charisma in the dictionary you would get a black person.....ugh. God bless his departure from the commentary booth. However, this means a mediocre in-ring performer in NXT and really cringe worthy RAGE promos.

    3. Jojo - Ugh. Her name screeching is so goddamn annoying. I miss Eden in NXT.

    4. Bayley - Unpopular opinion, possibly. I'm over her. Every time creative tries to demonstrate any sort of flexibility or new edge to her character, it's quickly thrown out and she just remains stale. The only change to her character is how she wants to copy Sami Zayn's redemption, and that has led to some really poor things, such as Bayley's awful through the corner kick and uninteresting comeback spots. At this point, it hard to rally behind Bayley and give her any sympathy.

    5. Finn Balor - Also possibly unpopular. And I'm also not too sure about this. I kind of had this spot for Carmella but that's too easy to grill into her. She's super green and she's in a role that she shouldn't be in and she's getting legit heat for it. So I'll put Balor in here. Don't get me wrong. I already like Finn Balor more in NXT than I liked the final two years or so of Prince Devitt. And he's had some decent matches in NXT thus far. The Itami match was GOOD, the Neville match was GOOD, and the matches with Kidd and Kendrick have been PRETTY GOOD. I stress the quality of those matches because Balor's matches are already a bit overpraised. I can't get fully behind Balor in NXT because while he seems more controlled in the ring, it seems nothing has been done about his super obvious void in charisma. His promos are atrocious. He's super deadpan. His cold stare is alarming. He speaks in fragments. He's sometimes whispery. And while his entrance is a spectacle, it's not that hard to make gestures to the beat of music. Autistic kids do that all the time He does way too many things to create an illusion that he has a captivating personality. It doesn't feel genuine.

I left Crowe off the top five because as much as I love him, the booking for him has been pretty lackluster and aside from the interruption promos, they haven't really given people a reason to invest in Crowe thus far. Sasha is cool and I've come around on her, but she's still kind of a bad promo cutter and not really that captivating outside the ring. Hideo is finally finding his footing in NXT after a disappointing run in the beginning. The Breeze feud has been a blessing for him. His ever-changing finishers still add anti-climatic ending to his matches, though. Blake and Murphy are solid performers, but holy fuck, they come off as uber goofballs and are hard to take seriously.

Re: Your NXT Top & Bottom Five

    TOP FIVE

Finn Balor - My favourite superstar in NXT is Finn Balor and I think he has all the tools to be a huge success in the future of the WWE. His matches since coming to the brand have been solid and his match with Adrian Neville at NXT TakeOver: Rival was nothing short of awesome. I hadn't watched him on the independent scene so I wasn't aware of the body paint stuff. I love it and think when it is used for special events it could be a real draw. Also that theme music is simply the best there is right now.

    Kevin Owens -
The NXT Champion is awesome. Since debuting his booking has been spot on and he has backed it up both in the ring and on the mic. His mini-series with Alex Riley has been entertaining and his match with Sami Zayn at TakeOver: Rival was just the first of many classic encounters they will have. I am super stoked for his match with Finn Balor next week and I expect him to win before having another match with Sami Zayn at the next special or a Triple Threat with Finn potentially. Owens is awesome.

    Sasha Banks -
Sasha is incredible. There is no other way of describing it. She is the MVP of women's wrestling on NXT and therefore the entire WWE. What makes it even more unbelievable is the fact she is just 23 years old. She is younger than me! The sky really is the limit for her but I don't want her to ever be called up unless they are willing to give her 15-20 minute matches on pay per view because it is a total waste otherwise. While Bayley and Charlotte are good, Sasha is on the next level.

    Tyler Breeze -
Prince Pretty had to get on the list for obvious reasons. I feel like they lost direction with him when they signed Hideo, Finn and Owens but now they are re-focusing on him and the future looks bright once again. Itami’s best work has been with Breeze and Tyler is more than responsible for that. Also how ingenious is the selfie stick wrapped in fur?! Breeze is just an amazing talent.

    Sami Zayn –
InZayn. Sami is just epic. That was the only word I could think of to describe his talents. Epic, epic, epic. The man isn’t capable of working a bad match and I don’t think I have seen a better match than the match he had with Cesaro at the first TakeOver and from their he has had incredible matches with Adrian Neville, Kevin Owens and that is not to mention possibly the best Fatal 4-Way Match I have ever seen.

    BOTTOM FIVE

Becky Lynch – I just don’t get it. Sure she is solid enough in the ring and played a part in the Fatal 4-Way Match at TakeOver: Rival but the gimmick stinks. Irish rocker who head bangs her way to the ring. What made things even worst was when she was alongside Sasha Banks who basically has the opposite gimmick. The two didn’t go together at all. I think Lynch can be a star but she needs a different gimmick.

    Bull Dempsey –
Man have they buried Bull and frankly I don’t really care. He has failed to impress me in any match and I am simply not buying the hard man gimmick. He got squashed by Corbin on multiple occasions and I just think he really lacks charisma, the one thing which in my opinion cannot really be taught. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was released in the next year.

    Sin Cara –
Frankly Sin Cara is phoning it in each and every week and it is painfully clear. Kalisto would have been much further ahead than he is without the Lucha Dragons which is a shame. I hope they split them and don’t bring them up to the roster as a tag team. For Sin Cara to improve he simply needs to start caring…

    Marcus Louis –
Admittedly we haven’t seen a lot of him in the ring or recently but we really don’t need another crazy man gimmick frankly. The French thing would have worked just fine, I mean look at Rusev on the main roster. I just feel like there was a lack of long term planning for him. Not his own fault though so there is hope for young Marcus.

    Blake and Murphy –
I’m not sold on these two as a tag team let alone being the champions yet. I appreciate they have shaken up the division by putting the straps on them but there were much more viable options. I mean Enzo and Big Cass are way over and The Vaudevillains seem to have disappeared into obscurity. They have time on their side for sure though.

Re: Your NXT Top & Bottom Five

    Top 5 Men

Kevin Owens...what can't he do? An absolute badass and believable strong champion
Sami Zayn...Fan favourite, top player. Puts on great matches with anyone
Breeze...Improves each week and now is the best "character" on the show. I expect another shot at the title before moving up by the end of the year.
Balor...Bad ass entrance aside he is a good in ring performer. Needs work on the mic but it will come
Kalisto...I love Kakisto, is being held back as a tag team imo and just needs to go it alone.

Hon mention...Neville, didn't include as he must be close to a call up but probably would be No.2 if he stuck around.

    Top 3 Women

Sasha Banks...most improved female, great at everything and looks good
Charllotte...on her way up I imagine, leader of the divas division in the future
Bliss....needs more work and screen time but a lot of potential

    Bottom 5 Men

Corbin...I hate this guy, looks like a lost, stoned guy. Zero development
Dempsey...Just lost interest in him, hasn't been involved in anything interesting
CJ Parker...Officially the "debut" guy, not much else to offer
Louis...Went bald, got sad, dissapeared. Couldn't care less
Blake/Murphy...Not bad in the ring but Zero character. Generic and hard to get behind.

Hon mention...Riley, he's only had 2 matches so can't be over critical but yeah he still sucks

    Bottom 2 Women

Carmella...Needs a hell of alot of work.
    Emma...Still struggling to go anywhere

Re: Your NXT Top & Bottom Five

    Top Five

    1. Kevin Owens -
Everything about this guy is just great right now. It's easy to forget that he's only been in NXT since December considering he could easily go up to the main roster already and not look out of place. WWE have just done a brilliant job of getting him over as an absolute beast, He's like the NXT version of Brock Lesnar and I can't wait to see what else he can do.

    2. Sami Zayn
    - Pretty much the Daniel Bryan of NXT, everything he seems to do just turns into gold. I can't even remember the last time I saw this guy have a terrible match. Hes one of the few that I don't really wanna see go up simply because he has nothing really unique about him to frankly make Vince give a shit from the get go. I'm sure Haitch will be behind him all the way but I dunno if Dunn & Vince will see the money in him straight away. Still incredible athlete and brilliant all around superstar.

    3. Finn Balor- Probably the guy right now on NXT I see having the most promising main roster career tbh. Even more promising that both Zayn & Owens (although Owens should have a pretty good career). He just seems to have that IT factor that I feel will get him over with the main roster fans pretty quickly. that's where most of the recent call ups have fallen flat. on NXT they were lucky to compete in front of the same sort of fans week in week out so was able to build up a relationship with them, on the road its a different beast and not everyone will gravitate toward you quickly. I get the vibe from Balor that he will resonate with the majority of the fans pretty comfortably. On top of that brilliant wrestler, good on the mic, not a bad thing I can really say about the guy

    4. Sasha Banks - Probably the best diva across both NXT & the main roster right now. She's improved tons over the last year both in the ring and with her character and truly is the MVP diva at only 23 years old. Even in diva years she still has a good decade to build a career. Simply incredible.

    5. Kalisto - Glad other guys agree about just how great this guy is. Kalisto is essentially what Sin Cara should have been, that highflying latin guy to take over Mysterio's role. He's not gonna win any world titles or anything, but he's the definition of a solid midcard act who the fans will love and will easily purchase any merchandise of his the WWE produces.

    Bottom Five

    1. Blake & Murphy -
While these guys are not exactly bad I still don't understand why they got given the tag team titles. I mean they are decent in the ring but they have zero character and not much charisma. They are pretty much the New Day of NXT. They are the definition of a filler team and probably should have stayed like that for the time being.

    2. Bull Dempsey -I don't care for this guy. I never have cared for this guy and I probably never will care for this guy. He's a NXT midcarder and nothing more. If he left the company tomorrow I honestly can't say I would miss him.

    3. Becky Lynch - This one hurts since Becky is actually a pretty decent wrestler. It just seems like she doesn't know what gimmick she actually is supposed to have, is she supposed to be a rockstar? Is she supposed to be a submission specialist? Then you had her and Banks which made zero sense. WWE just needs to come to a conclusion on what they want her to be and she should do well.

    4. Mojo Rawley -
The other day I had to google him to see if he was still with the company....and to my disappoitment I saw that he still was. I just legit don't care for this guy and honestly wouldn't really care if he came back.

    5. Alex Riley - He's theme sounds pretty good. Thats where the praise for Riley ends. He was terrible as a commentator and he's only half decent in the ring. It's just hard to really care for the guy in any form.

Honorable Top 5 Mentions to Neville & Breeze. Neville despite not being as high on the card (most likely due to his pending roster move up) still puts on brilliant matches regardless and Breeze has improved tons both in the ring and character wise over the past year. Charlotte gets a top 5 honorable mention too. While Banks has improved a lot it's easy to forget that Charlotte hasn't been around for a long time and had a lot to live up to being a Flair, she's handled the pressure pretty well and wouldn't look out of place on the main roster right now. Enzo & Cass too. They feel like a modern day NAO and could really liven up the tag team scene on the main roster.

Re: Your NXT Top & Bottom Five

    Top 5:

    1) Sami Zayn - Best babyface in the world and my vote for best wrestler of 2014. There's no doubt NXT becomes a weaker show when Sami is missing, and in particular when he's off selling Kevin Owens injuries you're just longer for the guy to come back. NXT is his house, once he arrived the fans instantly loved him, and everything about NXT seemed to raise it's game ever since.

    2) Sasha Banks - NXT is the only place in the world I give a shit about women's wrestling, and at the core of their division is THE BOSS, Sasha Banks who has shown remarkable improvement over the years, both in the ring and developing her gimmick. I thought Paige would go onto have a really good career in the WWE when I used to see her at Full Sail, but her gimmick and promos were really iffy (they still are), Sasha however is as full a package as you're ever going to get in a developmental women's wrestler.

    3) Kevin Owens - It's incredible how untouched Kevin has been since he signed, he's virtually Kevin Steen without the package piledriver, which makes his character so believable to people. He's had the best debut night ever in NXT history, he's arguably only behind at his peak Bo Dallas as best heel in NXT history, and now Owens Vs Zayn has a chance of going down as one of the best feuds in NXT history. Easily the most well booked act in wrestling over the last 6 months, quickest they've ever created a superstar.

    4) Kalisto - Nicky said the word magical, and that sums it up nicely for me. The guy is a delight in the ring and I'm thrilled he's going out on his own as a singles wrestler now in NXT because I felt like his good work over the past year was being ruined by the partners who were dragging Kalisto down to their level. Fuck Balor (who's getting there but I still have gripes with), Kalisto's the guy I want to see get a nice singles push in the expected winding down of the Zayn/Neville era.

    5) Enzo Amore - Always a delight whenever he's on my TV screen. This will sound like ridiculous hyperbole, but this guy is like the next Rock on the microphone, he has his catchphrases and everyone loves to hear him say them, he makes people laugh, he makes people get hyped, he's quick witted, he's comfortable as fuck just talking. He's a natural entertainer when it comes to speaking. Unfortunately he's not impressive at all in the ring, and given his size and look, this guy can probably only hope to be the next Santino as a wrestler. I've mentioned this before in threads, but with his gift of the gab, Enzo could be such an awesome non-wrestler on the main roster as a manager.

    Bottom 5:

    1) Alex Riley - He's fucking terrible. I'll take raged up Riley the wrestler over Riley the analyst on commentary, because if Riley's on commentary he sucks for the entire length of the show, at least as a wrestler his bit is over in about 10 minutes.

    2) Baron Corbin - What's to like besides his finisher looks cool. He's in the most boring spot in NXT, constant squash match wins so he can't impress in the ring, but then he's awful at talking so there's no enjoyment there either. Unless you want to sleep with Corbin, I'm not sure why anyone would be excited to see him on the show.

    3) Bull Dempsey - The guy was made to look like such a joke in the Corbin feud it's impossible for me to care about him anymore. Like Corbin, I just switch off when he's involved in the show

    4) Blake and Murphy - I think these guys have great potential in the ring, most of their tag matches that have received time I've enjoyed, but they haven't made any attempts to flesh out characters for these guys besides 'one of them is an aussie.......they both like dubstep'. Definition of generic, and if they want to continue with the belts on them, they desperately need to add more to their act. A feud against Enzo and Big Cass is making it plainly obvious what they're lacking in.

    5) JoJo - excellent shout Nicky, this bint's ring announcing screeching is classic nails on a chalkboard to my ears.

Re: Your NXT Top & Bottom Five

I understand why people aren't that into Bull, but I personally couldn't rank him lower than some of the acts on . Yeah, he's been pretty botchy as of late, his reputation got really damaged by the Corbin feud, and he's still got jobber attire, but I feel like there's still some upside to Bull. His offense is still really cool and true to the character he plays, and he's already looked better in competitive matches with Hideo and Crowe than he did the few months previous. I feel like if he was given an enforcer or lackey role, his reputation could slowly be rebuilt.

plus his theme song is still fucking amazing and I'll fight you if you disagree.

As for Blake and Murphy, I kind of want to say they're bottom five material for reasons highlighted by others, but I feel like they have some reasons to be excused from the bottom five. It's more on the creative team for presenting the team in such a vague, unclear way. They stuck them in a position for the sake of shaking things up and ignoring a build-up route with the team. Then its up to us to realize that the creative team just gave us a cowboy and and Australian with sub par mic skills and weird struts for us to be like "oh I guess we have to dig these guys they're so energetic" and accept them with open arms. They're both solid talents (especially Blake in the ring) and there's still plenty of time for the team to improve within their reign and develop some sort of unique character trait.

And y'all need to get on Ed and I's level. Jojo is uber annoying.

Re: Your NXT Top & Bottom Five

    Top 5:

Adrian Neville - I'll include him since he's still formally an NXT superstar. And he's probably my favourite current wrestler period. He consistently has great matches with anyone, more so in my opinion than anyone else in NXT, and that's without even doing most of his more outrageous moves. Can play either face or heel effectively. Only weakness is on the mic - though I thought he was actually quite good in that regard as a heel. On that my opinion is probably influenced by having listened to his Cabana podcast and realising that he is in reality very shy, which probably explains the awkward on the mic thing.

Tyler Breeze - Hilarious in his gimmick and good in the ring. Can't ask for much more than that. The series with Itami I think has finally given him that definitive feud people can point to and say "that's what Tyler Breeze is like".

Big Cass - I love the way he hits his moves. They always look like they have impact. I'm not usually a massive fan of the big boot, but when Cass hits it, it looks nasty.

Murphy - I'm honestly not entirely sure why on this. But for some reason I just like watching Murphy. Title reign is flat as hell, but I do like watching him. Maybe it's the muscular but athletic thing.

Becky Lynch - She's grown on me, especially since the Fatal 4-way. Yes she needs a gimmick change, but that's easy. Just repackage her as a submisison specialist with the Fujiwara as her finisher. I think she could easily become an MVP of the Divas division long term, putting on a great match with anyone.

    Bottom 5:

Bull Dempsey: Apart from the Flying Headbutt, the definition of bland.

Carmella: Irritating character, and no ring talent to compensate.

That's it really. There aren't many people I really dislike. There's a few others I'm indifferent on, but that's all. Even Alex Riley on commentary, I normally end up thinking well at least it's not JBL...

Re: Your NXT Top & Bottom Five

    Top Five

    1. Sami Zayn: This spot was difficult to pick one sole guy for, but in the end, it had to be the guy who has made me care more and more about the show with each passing week since NXT has started airing on the Network. Amazing wrestler, easily one of the best in the company, you can depend on him with the stick to give you a real, emotional promo, and he has that same feel that Bryan has to him that makes him all the more likeable, and he doesn't have too bad of a look either. As long as the office backs him, I don't see a way he can fail once he makes it to the main roster.

    2. Finn Balor: Only a few short months into his stay, and Balor already has me excited for what's to come. Dude's in phenomenal shape, exceptional wrestler, although I do kinda see where Nicky is coming from with how some of his matches have been overrated a tad bit, although that doesn't take away the fact that the matches have been good, just some have not been as good as some say they have been. Nicky also makes another good point in Balor's lack of charisma, but for this one, I'm gonna give him the time he needs to work on it.

    3. Bayley: I find this a bit shocking considering the fact of the all of the praise for Sasha Banks in this thread. And don't get me wrong, Sasha has grown on me in the shortest amount of time, it genuinely shocked me how I flipped on her so quick. Overall, however, I prefer Bayley to Sasha. Bayley has the same feel that Sami Zayn does to me, the big babyface trying to find their moment, however, on a much smaller scale, which is perfectly fine. She also has the wrestling ability to put on quality matches with a lot of the divas given to her. Granted, that same feel I brought up about has fizzled out a bit, but you can't push everyone at once, am I right? Whether or not she'll transition to the main roster smoothly will be tough to tell, but we'll have to wait and see.

    4. Kevin Owens: The NXT Champion comes in at my number four spot, and just to get it out of the way, there is one big reason why he isn't higher; he's the NXT Champion. After only a few months. Don't get me wrong, I love Kevin Owens. If I didn't, he wouldn't be number four on my list. However, I feel like there's so much more they could've done with Owens if they had DQ'd him at Rival instead of giving him the ref stoppage win. They could've done everything they're doing with him and so much more if they hadn't given him the belt so soon in my opinion. However, this is just a crack in the big picture, and that big picture is that Kevin Owens is fucking awesome. Point blank.

    5. Enzo Amore & Colin Cassidy: How you doin'? Man, do I love these guys. They're so entertaining on the mic, they ooze charisma when they're wrestling, for god's sake. However, that is their one issue; wrestling. Sure, Cassidy is competent enough, has a pretty fucking awesome big boot if I do say so myself. But what about Enzo? He's really small, doesn't have a clear cut finish yet, and I can't see WWE doing anything with him other than maybe giving him the tag belts with Big Cass. Good shout by Ed though, I would love to see Enzo work as a manager, because when you have the ability to talk like he does, you can't just throw it away.

Also, cause I wanted to throw him in here as an "honorable mention."

    6. Tyler Breeze: A clear cut example of what happens when you have a gimmick and you make it work to perfection. Such an amazing character, and a pretty good wrestler, but that's to be expect when you were trained by Lance Storm. Anyways, wanted to give Breeze a bit of praise here.

    Bottom Five

    1. Charlotte: God, am I gonna catch heat for this one. Pull out the popcorn, boys. This might be a long one. Firstly, no, this is not some sort of big issue with her being a Flair and that the only reason she's there is because of her dad. No, that's not how I am. I honestly don't see the big deal about Charlotte. She has a really, really weird look, can't fault her for it considering you can't control your looks, but that ain't even the half of it. I find her bland on the mic, average in the ring, she has a awful, awful finish, and her theme just angers me to no end. And trust me, I have given Charlotte a few chances, but I just can't get behind her at all. I find some of the main roster divas, Bayley, and Sasha far, far above her, and I really don't see what she has to offer. That's just me, though. I do hope she can find a way to make me like her, but right now, she's my number one hated person in all of NXT.

    2. Alex Riley: Holy shit, is this guy bad or what? Can't commentate to say his life, this "rage" stuff makes me cry of laughter every time I see him, and his wrestling puts me to sleep quicker than watching paint dry. Just... ugh. I'd have more to say but Charlotte just drove all the hate out of me, so, next.

    3. Bull Dempsey: Not much to say, is there? Boring, below average at best in the ring, he does a diving headbutt for some weird fucking reason, and he's now being jobbed out to people.

    4. CJ Parker: See Bull Dempsey. Except add in "annoying as fuck gimmick."

    5. Hideo Itami: I'm gonna catch some flak for this one, aren't I? Don't get me wrong, I think Itami has some great potential, and can be a solid player in the WWE. But right now, he's doing literally nothing of interest to me. I understand that he has to make a HUGE transition coming to the Americas, and that's why I'm not giving him a bunch of crap. I feel like his booking is the difference between Balor being in my top five, and Itami being in my bottom five. Balor is doing so many more important things than Itami that I can't get behind him. However, I have faith that once Itami gets going that he can wipe his name clear off my bottom five.

Re: Your NXT Top & Bottom Five

    Top 5

    #1 Tyler Breeze

Honestly, I like everything about this guy and his gimmick. As a tweener, he is just so damn entertaining to me. And he works really well in the ring with just about everyone. I'm just waiting for him to get as significant push.

    #2 Adrian Neville
Yeah, his mic skills haven't really improved at all. But he is really really entertaining to watch. Especially in matches where he isn't just jumping and flying around. I'm kind of surprised they didn't put him on RAW or Smackdown yet, so I don't know what they'll do with him.

    #3 Vaudevillians
I'm a big mark for Aiden English, and Gotch has started to grow on me. They're really fun and entertaining so I'm kind of baffled how these two entertaining men that are pretty over have not won the tag titles, yet vanilla midgets Blake & Murphy have.

    #4 Kevin Owens
I'm not really sure where they're gonna go with him, which is part of what makes him great. He's not really that much of a bad guy, but more just a legit bad ass. I dig it.

    #5 Sami Zayn
Bummed he's injured. The booking leading up to his title win was perfect. I miss him.

    Bottom 5

    #1 Baron Corbin
Until I see something more out of this guy, I just don't get the f*****g hype or appeal. I also don't buy the commentators overselling his "brooding" stare that he does, ugh...

    #2 Alex Riley
I hate everything about Riley. I wanted so badly for him to stop doing commentary, and now he's back wrestling matches. Sure I enjoyed Owens effing with him and beating him up, but he is just so lame & annoying to me. Also, the whole rage thing? Like, what? I guess I would rage too with that crappy haircut. Whatever, go away.

    #3 Enzo & Cass
They have some moments here and there that I chuckle at. But after hearing the same opening speech before every single match the first five times, I grew bored of it very quickly.

    #4 Finn Balor
He's alright. They put way too much focus on his entrance and music. And good god does he have no promo skills, like at all.

    #5 Hideo Itami
Yoshi Tatsu version 2.0 is alright, kind of like Balor. He wrestles good matches, but he has no promo skills what-so-ever and is accompanied by the stereotypical asian WWE music. I just can't see them writing or doing anything significant with him, and it makes me sad.

    Un-listable

    Bull Dempsey
I like this guy, and they bill him as a wrecking ball and a beast. But all he does is lose, except when he beats nameless jobbers. What's the point?

    CJ Parker
Kind of like Dempsey, except I dig Parkers gimmick way more. I'm just bummed that he kind of shows up, then disappears. he's a great heel, and works good matches. But he continues to go nowhere. *sigh*

    Kalisto

Like most people on here, I like him. I'm glad he's getting singles matches. Hopefully this will lead to good things, and maybe him feuding with Sin Cara and beating him.

    Tye Dillinger
Dudes been under contract with WWE since what, 2006? I think he has tons of potential. DO they just have nothing for him? Blah. Jason Jordan deserves better too.

Re: Your NXT Top & Bottom Five

    Fave Five...

    1. Kevin Owens - Dude is so money its not even funny. Just walked in like he owned the place and has been kicking ass ever since.

    2. Sami Zayn - Easily the best babyface in wrestling today, so much energy and really simple to get behind the guy. Here's hoping he's back soon.

    3. Adrian Neville - Hesitant to list because I think he's heading up soon, but I can't deny how much he entertained me during his run.

    4. Tyler Breeze - Love the character and he's more than held his own in some of the best NXT matches I've seen.

    5. Vaudevillains - Great tag team that hopefully goes places, even if I fear the gimmick wouldn't fly on the main roster.

    Least Fave Five...

    1. Baron Corbin - I like nothing about this guy but he's young so perhaps he'll improve. Doubt it though.

    2. Finn Balor - It's not that I don't appreciate his skills, I just can't get behind the overly theatrical entrance and, like BenWah said, his promos are crap.

    3. Alex Riley - Ugh. Not much else to say other than it was great watching Owens kick his ass.

    4. Hideo Itami - Just hasn't clicked with me yet but hopefully he does soon. Needs to use the GTS as his finisher.

    5. Mojo - One of the worst wrestlers I've ever seen. Can't believe he's still employed.

    Fave 5

1...Kevin Owens...Great in the ring and on the mic

2...Big Cass & Enzo Amore....Always enjoy their segments and I glad to see them getting a push now

3...Baron Corbin...I can already see that this is going to be an unpopular choice, but I have have always been a fan of wrestlers that come in and defeat their opponents in a matter of seconds

4...Finn Balor...Unlike most, I wasn't really awae of him for the most part before he came into NXT...Impressed with his in ring work

5...Wiliam Regal...Not sure if he counts, but he adds a lot to the show

    Honourable Mention

    Sasha Banks

    Least Fave 5

    1...CJ Parker....Annoying Gimmick

2...MoJo Rawley....Much like CJ I am just annoyed by him

    3...Blake/Murphy....Very bland/generic tag team

    4...Carmella......Another Annoying Gimmick

5...Blue Pants...it was funny that they called her Blue Pants the first time she appeared, but the joke got old quickly

Re: Your NXT Top & Bottom Five

    Top Five
    1. Sami Zayn - A highly obvious pick I know but for the right reasons. Zayn is arguably the best all round prospect in NXT and is without a doubt one of the top faces in wrestling who should definitely make a huge impression when he makes his way to the main roster.
    2. Kevin Owens - Again an obvious pick but let's be honest if you are going to mention the best good guy NXT has you got to give the same props to the best villain NXT has. Owens has pretty much been golden since his arrival and for me the things that have really stood out are the small really prickish moments such as when he kicked the belt in Sami's face or through the pen or how he would stand over Riley when Riley was on commentary. He is without a doubt doing everything he can to establish his character as one nasty heel and he is doing a fantastic job.
    3. Hideo Itami - I honestly feel a lot was expected of Hideo on his arrival to NXT or more specifically too much right from the bat considering he still needed to make the transition to the WWE style. And yeah whilst it is taking a while for him to get right back into the groove I've still been enjoying his work especially his series with Tyler Breeze which has done a great job of elevating both men now IMO and I really cannot wait to see Hideo go in there soon against the likes of Neville, Zayn and Owens in the future as I think those matches will be excellent.
    4. Alexa Bliss - I think those who have spoken to me before about Alexa Bliss know my thoughts on her (She is bae). But what has also stood out to me is her ring work. Whilst she is not as polished as the likes of Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch in the ring. She's constantly improving and has some very impressive high flying moves which you don't often see in WWE from divas today which definitely makes her stand out. Plus she is hot.
    5. Finn Balor - Again an obvious one but for me I have personally been a fan of Balor for years even before he signed with the WWE and was competing in Japan as Prince Devitt. And it goes without saying since his arrival in NXT Balor has very much been on fire since his arrival producing some quality matches with Neville and Itami which makes me all the more excited for his upcoming battle with Owens.

    Honorable Mentions:

The Vaudevillains - Always going to love these guys. Especially Aiden English who I have been a fan of since day one. Defo feel they should have been the ones to dethrone the Lucha Dragons
Tyler Breeze - Again same as English I've been a fan of his from day one. You can also see a lot more improvement in Breeze as of late especially with a lot more variety in his ring work. My only concern with Tyler is how would he fit in on the main roster with the gimmick considering Miz has pretty much run the don't touch the face thing into the ground.
Baron Corbin - Probably a questionable one to many. But I still remember last year glancing at a NXT live event video showing Kalisto wrestling an unknown wrestler and being impressed with how this kind of generic create a wrestler look a like was able to keep up with the luchador (Who I would also include as a honorary mention but then I'd be mentioning most of the roster LOL). And it was only then I realized the guys name was Baron Corbin and part of NXT and yeah basically every now and then I'd check to see if he had any more matches in NXT with hopes that he'd get a solid push one day as I felt he had potential. Now since his official redebut in NXT he has pretty much squashed everyone but shown a lot of raw potential in his match with Neville which makes me continue to believe he has a solid future ahead of him.
Sasha Banks - IMO she is without a doubt the best all round diva in NXT. She is literally killing it both in ring and with her character which makes her must watch for me in NXT. And if it was name your top 6 she'd be the next in with Breeze closely following.
Becky Lynch - So again I can see this being a questionable one especially with the confusion of just what her character is supposed to be. But I have to say the one thing I've liked since his addition to the commentary table is that Corey Graves has really been pushing just how dislikable a person Lynch is which IMO adds to her character in a lot of ways then before where she was just a headbanger. Also to her credit she is very good in the ring with her showing the fatal four way showing that and has some great submission moves in her arsenal including that straight armbar she locked in on Bayley which made me wince on seeing it.

    Bottom Five
    1. Solomon Crowe - I hate saying this I really do. But fuck me has Solomon Crowe been pretty underwhelming since his debut in NXT. I don't think his booking or the long delay on his debut has helped him nor do I like his finisher. Such a shame as I really loved his work on the indies and I had such high hopes for his Hacker character when I first heard about it.
    2. Charlotte - Now don't get me wrong here there is no doubt Charlotte is a talented diva and has a bright future. Her spot here is more down to her character and promos as I literally have no clue whether she is supposed to be a face or a heel. It's like she keeps switching back and forth every time she speaks and it's just annoying because again in ring she is awesome.
    3. Bull Dempsey - A common trend with my bottom five is I don't really dislike the people it's more little things. Which is where Bull Dempsey comes in as overall I thought the dude was great when he come in. Loved the throwback look and got to say he's a good promo. Think he makes for a solid mid card heel who could have some interesting feuds. But god was that feud with Baron fugly and boy did it make him look awful which is a shame
    4. Blake/Murphy - Once again when it comes to these two it's more a couple of glaring issues then a major dislike as to why they are in my bottom five. Always felt these two had potential especially Buddy Murphy who looks to be a capable power house wrestler and got to say love the theme. But I think what has hurt them is their lack of characters as well as the sudden nature of their title wins. Similar to that of Charlotte I've just not been sure at points whether they are too be cheered or booed and IMO that hurts them.
    5. Carmella - The last one on my list has to be Carmella. I mean without a doubt she is unfortunately dragging down both Enzo and Cass at the moment as you can here by the crowd reactions. Can't help but feel they need to turn her full heel asap and get her away from them. In the ring she is without a doubt a work in progress but yeah they need to fully embrace the hate with her.

I know he wasn't with them the whole time. But you would have thought they would have more for him by this point in time.

And I still think Jordan deserves a decent shot too. He's just as charismatic as Blake or Murphy, just add annoying dubstep.

    Yep, pretty much

Vaudevillians or even Enzo & Cass are more deserving of those titles. At least they get reactions from the crowd.

Re: Your NXT Top & Bottom Five

So, it's been about six months since this thread was created give or take a few days, shut up and in that time, NXT gone through some changes, some minor, some not, and it'd be interesting to see how your choices hold up today, six-ish months on.

For example: The top two most nominated NXT Talents on the 'Best' side in this thread, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn, haven't appeared on NXT for quite some time, albeit for two different reasons. Sami Zayn, former NXT Champion and perpetual One In Our Hearts, suffered an unfortunate injury in May while answering John Cena's US Title Open Challenge, and while he has appeared sporadically on NXT, his absence has certainly been felt since. Kevin Owens, also former NXT Champion and One In Our Hearts But For Totally Different Reasons, stopped appearing on NXT regularly in July, after losing his NXT Championship - and the subsequent rematch - to Finn Balor and was with promoted or demoted to the main roster with a splash, beating John Cena in his Raw debut. Which was awesome.

Meanwhile, on our nominated list of 'Worst' NXT Talents - and this may be upsetting for the guy's only supporter at the time, our lovely Hipster Mod Nickyster Talenté - a lot of people really didn't like this Bull Dempsey guy. The terms 'Unimpressive', 'Boring', or 'Uninteresting' were thrown around a lot, although if we're being honest his series of matches with Baron Corbin - also a guy who many others don't seem to enjoy - did not help him at all. However, with the Bull-Fit persona he's recently debuted, a lot more support has been thrown his way than before. Right below him on the list, Alex Riley was also hated, mainly for his god-awful commentary. His in-ring return didn't change much, and he was soon out on injury before long. Perhaps absence makes the heart grow fonder?

So, six months on, let's discuss your CURRENT top & bottom five NXT talents. Has there been significant change on your lists over the past six months? Perhaps you've softened on Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy/found them more entertaining with Alexa Bliss at their side, or maybe current NXT Champion Finn Balor isn't quite as cool as you initially thought he was. Is it possible Mojo Rawley's tag team with Zack Ryder has made his more irritable qualities hide? Eh, stranger things have happened.

Re: Your NXT Top & Bottom Five

Man, idk how I missed this thread at the time. If I had made a list then, it probably would have looked like this:

    Top Five
    1. Sasha Banks
    2. Sami Zayn
    3. Kevin Owens
    4. Finn Balor
    5. Adrian Neville

    Bottom Five
    1. Bull Dempsey
    2. Baron Corbin
    3. Mojo Rawley
    4. Blake and Murphy
    5. Alex Riley

But now that six months has passed, A LOT has changed. My lists look completely different. A lot less big names on this one and more great and enjoyable characters. I'm not going to include Sasha this time because for all intents and purposes, she's on the main roster now. They really just brought her back to give the women's division one last big boost. Same with Sami Zayn. He's just been out far too long to include in this right now. So here's my current top five and bottom five.

    Top Five
    1. Corey Graves - This dude has improved so much since becoming a regular part of the NXT commentary crew and hosts of other platforms and is the best commentary personality in the company right now. Everything he says has purpose and contributes so well to the segment at hand. He's exactly what JBL should be, but isn't. He's a great heel commentator who puts over BOTH the faces and heels. He also incorporates match analysis with quick witted humor. After Tom Phillips' got kicked to the curb for whatever reason, this guy has stepped up big time and is without a doubt my commentator of the year.

    2. Enzo and Cass - As Ed said previously, these guys, especially Enzo, are some of the best talkers in the business and are over as fuck. Just so fun to watch. Every time they come or show up on my screen, I'm watching intently. How these guys haven't won the tag titles yet is beyond me.

    3. Bayley - I had to laugh at Nicky's "it's hard to get behind her and give her any sympathy" comment. Sure, her arc has changed slightly the last few months since chasing the title more and finally winning it, but man, her character is so great. Like I said previously, she's exactly what Vince sees John Cena as, but she does it so much better it's not even funny.

    4. Apollo Crews - This dude is impressive af. From his agility, to his glorious smile, he's got it all. He's like Bobby Lashley, but with better in-ring work and agility, better charisma, and just a better character. Dude will be big on the main roster one day.

    5. Bull Dempsey - What can I say about this dude. A slight gimmick change can make all the difference. Sure, he's basically a jobber now, but the Bull-Fit schtick is fantastic and he's got such a charm about him. NXT has done great with taking guys that aren't working and making them work. He's just so likable now.

Honorable mentions: Tye Dillinger, Jordan and Gable

    Bottom Five
    1. Eva Marie - She's just so fucking awful. Nothing about her is organic. Boring as fuck promos, botch city matches, and just all around awkward in general. Why they are trying to make her happen is beyond me. Ughhh. In her defense though, I think she could make a decent valet for someone. Just keep her out of the ring and out of the awful attire she's been given and keep her in promo class about 80 hours a week.

    2. Byron Saxton - Adds nothing of value to the booth on any brand. He's so fucking monotone and boring and when he tries to be clever with a witty comment, it's awful 100% of the time. At least Graves plays off his stupidity well. The booth does not need him or his chair. If anything, he belongs backstage doing interviews and such.

    3. Baron Corbin - My opinion hasn't changed much about him, but at least he lost to Joe and isn't being shoved down our throats anymore by now being in tag matches a lot more often. His finisher is still complete ass though.

    4. Dana Brooke - Just does nothing for me. Her voice is also very monotonous and annoying. Her mannerisms aren't great and just look weird. She touches herself more than '95 Goldust. It just doesn't work for me, especially the promos with Devin Taylor. If I've seen the first one, I've seen all of them. The head pats are so overdone. At least she's serviceable in the ring.

    5. Blake and Murphy - Like Corbin, they haven't changed much for me. They still come off as really generic. I don't necessarily hate them or anything, but they're just there. If there is one redeeming factor to them, it was adding Alexa Bliss. They really needed someone and she's great.

Honorable mentions: Mojo Rawley, Devin Taylor
