Anyone else notice that baby faces only win the rumble. Last time a heal won was Mcmahon in 99. Thin about it. 96=HBK=Face 97=Austin=Face 98=Austin=Face, 00=Rock=Face, 01=Austin=Face, 02=HHH=Face, 03=Lesner=Faceish, 04=Benoit=Face, 05=Batista=Face, 06=Mysterio=Face, 07=Undertaker=Face, 08=Cena=Face, 09= (HHH Anyone)=Face. Its almost like WWE feels they need to make mania a feel good event. For once, please, please, please let the bad guy win.
On a seperate Note. Who else was iritated last years rumble had the shortest ramp on earth. The shortast walkway to the ring, on the even where there are like 28 drematic run ins. Was the Mania 24 the four mile long rampway? If so, why the hell would you want that? The wrestler would jut about be in the ring when the timer comes up for the next guy. It would absolutly kill the excitment created by a new entrant, especially if its a big star.

Last year's Rumble was at MSG. The Rumble doesn't need a big rampway. I think MSG makes any PPV seem more special anyway, so no complaints about that.
And yeah it is pretty much always a face and that won't change this year when Triple H wins it. I wish Orton could win it just so finally a heel could win. Gets boring when its always a face.

As Tom said, the Rumble took place at MSG. They always have the short setup for their PPV's at MSG (Check out Survivor Series 02, Royal Rumble 00 and Summerslam 98 for other examples).
As for faces winning, well that's only because of Vince wanting to end WM with what the fans want to see (The face going over). Once the Rumble became a number 1 contender match, it became obvious that it was needed to have a face win.
There has been a fair amount of heels winning the Rumble though:
1992 - Ric Flair (Easily, the biggest Rumble to win)
1993 - Yokozuna (First number 1 contender's match)
1995 - Shawn Michaels
1997 - Steve Austin (He was still technically a heel)
1999 - Vince McMahon
2005 - Batista (Although by now he was a tweener)

Batista was fan friendly heel who was incredibly popular and on the verge of a full blown face turn, I'd cancel him out.
I have a feeling Orton will win it this year actually, just because of the shear lack of options, though I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't.
And the MSG entrance is the best around imo.
But what about the 'HHH is awesome' angle you were talking about? He is the focus of Smackdown despite not being Champion. I think Edge is winning the title against Hardy, and Trips will win the Rumble setting up an amazingly uninspiring contest.

Wouldn't surprise me, but they seem to be setting Orton up for SOMETHING.
Maybe to face Cena in a boring World Heavyweight Title match?
Cena isn't going to have anything else to do with Batista out and Austin not wrestling. To be honest I may go back on my prediction of HBK/JBL. I just can't see Cena not being involved in a Mania title match.
