ECW has a new face of the Extreme franchise – Jack Swagger. The newcomer who came to ECW four months ago as part of ECW General Manager Theodore Long’s New Superstar Initiative, defeated Matt Hardy to claim ECW gold less than two weeks before they’ll have a rematch at the Royal Rumble.
“The All-American American” shows the true swagger of a champion – he’s undefeated in singles action. The smug, young Superstar is poised for greatness in the Land of the Extreme. When he flashes his trademark wide smile, it’s no secret the Jack Swagger era has officially begun on ECW. But will Swagger hold onto the gold when he faces Hardy again at the Rumble?
Despite the backing of the WWE Universe, Matt Hardy’s nearly four-month run as ECW Champion came to an end at the hands of Swagger. Days later, Hardy defeated Swagger with a Twist of Fate in tag team action on SmackDown. Is Hardy regaining the momentum he needs to reclaim the Extreme Title at the Rumble?
Will Swagger retain the ECW Championship or will Hardy once again be the king of Extreme? Find out who will leave Detroit ECW Champion by watching the Royal Rumble, live on Sunday, Jan. 25, only on pay-per-view

Re: Royal Rumble: ECW Champion Jack Swagger vs Matt Hardy
I'm not happy that Swagger already has the title, but I don't want the title to change hands again so I'm happy for him to retain I guess. Plus it definitely beats having Mark Henry in the ECW Main Event.

This match could prove that Matt Hardy is not Jeff's attacker, that is if the attacker is revealed Sunday. I highly doubt WWE would job Matt out early in the night and then expect us to believe his is the mastermind who tried to kill his own brother. Besides, how does that look, jobbing at hour one of the ppv, pulling a "z0mg~!" hour three of the ppv.

My God does Swagger look just like someone I know >.>
Anyway, I think the E booed this match due to a lot of people criticizing Swagger beating Matt, cleanly on top of that.
To me, it seemed like they were going to book Matt to the point that he was the best ECW Champion of all time, and now.. I just don't know where Matt's going..

Eh Jericho lost then walked out of a PPV with the title. I could easily see Matt losing and being pissed, then maybe have a segment with Jeff backstage (not really hinting at anything but planting seeds) then Jeff loses the strap due to someone mysterious and sooner or later Matt is finally revealed. Instead of revealing Matt doing it two months early, they can wait till NWO or something.
