That's a ridiculous statement. Kozlov is way way waaaaaay greener than JBL, although plenty more talented when it comes to actual wrestling (it's working the crowd Koslov sucks at) and Taker is no where near as adept as Micheals at carrying dead weight in the ring. HBK carried Flair, Hogan, and McMahon all to decent matches. He can certainly do it with JBL and it would be far better than 'Taker/Kozlov.
Did you watch Taker vs. Flair or Taker vs. McMahon? They were fine (granted the Buried Alive wasn't as good as the Mania one).
The Undertaker is just as good as Shawn Michaels 9/10 times. JBL is even more sluggish than Kozlov and is horrible at taking bumps. Both Kozlov and JBL in a main event would be terrible. I don't care who JBL is facing, John Cena, Shawn Michaels, the Undertaker, etc. a one on one main event at Mania featuring JBL is a terrible idea.
How is HBK, Mr. Wrestlemania, in the Title match a turn off? The guy always delivers in ring, and would likely make JBL look good for the first time in JBL's career in single's competition. Plus the Texas crowd would be electric, which is half the battle won already. HBK/Flair, Rock/Hogan, Hogan/Warrior, Lesnar/Goldberg... All of those were triumphs or failures due to crowd reaction, rather than in ring work (not that the ring work in some of those matches wasn't good).
Because HBK + Wrestlemania = overatedness and fanboys creaming the pants to the brim with .... over Michaels's horrible overselling, weak looking offence and annoying theatrical facial expressions.
It's both of them imo... their styles together wouldn't make a good match imo. I could be wrong, but yeah I'd be shocked if they produced a good match together.
Call me a mark, but I really can't imagine a Shawn Michaels Wrestlemania match not delivering, and people are seriously overstating how bad JBL is.
You're a mark! Hahaha!!
But I agree emphatically. HBK at 'Mania is always good or better, and JBL is awful, but he can be carried and his promo's make up for it entirely. For the most part.
He's not terrible, he's just nothing special. That is why I think people are overstating how bad he is. He is good at what he does. Think about his gimmick, he is a big bully. Therefore his ring style is suited to that. He is basically just a brawler who powers people around and uses a lot of high impact striking offence.
The only problem with this match would be that it would be predictable. You can just see HBK getting dominated by the larger JBL for most of the match, only to come back in superman fashion. Hopefully they would go for something more original.
How is JBL terrible? Because he doesn't do loads of matwork, suplexes and dives?
The guy is slow and out of shape. When he was WWE Champion he had a slow style, but now he's even slower. It's like watching a match in slow motion. He is all brawler and noting else, and although I have nothing against brawlers per say, JBL's style (as I've mentioned) is very slow, thus making the brawling lack in excitement. I've not seen one match featuring JBL that I would ever recommend anyone to watch.
On the other hand, his promo's and commentary is A1 material and he is one the money all the time. he's one of the best talkers on Raw (nevermind the rest of wrestling in general) and on a show that has Cena, Jericho, Santino and Orton, that's saying something.
