John Cena vs. JBL
This was the opener on the show. I didn't see the match, so it wouldn't be fair for me to award a rating. John Cena won clean, which was a little surprising to me because I thought they'd be pushing JBL as a potential challenger for Triple H.

John Morrison & The Miz (c) vs. Kane (ECW Champion) and CM Punk
Solid match. They gave this a lot of time. Morrison and Miz looked worked especially well together as you'd expect. Kane's chokeslam to Miz on the floor looked plenty painful. Morrison and Miz retained which was a huge surprise.
Star Rating: **1/2
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho
Excellent match. I'm not particularly happy with HBK coming out the victor, but nonetheless, it was pretty damn good. Lots of counters and reversals, near falls.. Jericho mimicked HBK's injury angle from last month faking an injury while HBK was setting up for the Sweet Chin Music and then hit a beautiful Codebreaker for a near fall.
Star Rating: ***1/2 Women's Championship
Mickie James (c) vs. Melina vs. Beth Phoenix
Mickie retained as expected and they didn't give this match enough time. The women worked hard while it lasted and executed some nice maneuvers including something I've never seen before. Beth Phoenix put Mickie and Melina on her shoulders at the same time executing a double backbreaker submission. Good stuff.
Star Rating: ** World Heavyweight Championship (Vacant)
Undertaker vs. Edge
Another very good match with lots of near falls. These guys really work well together, but unfortunately the way the ending played out is going to affect the rating. Taker won by count out and was awarded the title until Vickie came out and said that a title could not be awarded by count out or DQ which is untrue as the rule states a title cannot "change hands" due to those circumstances. Dumb bitch. The title was vacant going in. So instead, the situation was not settled and we're still without a champion on SD!
Star Rating: *** MVP vs. Jeff Hardy
It was an ok match, but I'm not happy about a guy coming back from suspension (Hardy) and going on a tear through the roster. What kind of example does that set for the children who watch these shows that you can basically have all your mistake swept under the rug?
Star Rating: ** WWE Championship
Triple H (c) vs. Randy Orton
Pretty weak as far as cage match standards go. With the eventual and predictable conclusion of a successful title defense for The Game, we needed two things to come from this contest. First, I was expecting a bit of a gore fest which this was not, and secondly.. at no point did Randy Orton come close to winning or make anyone a believer and he also did not come off as overly competitive as a challenger.
Star Rating: **1/2 Overall PPV Rating: **1/2
It was a solid show from an in-ring standpoint, but due to some suspect booking and a very predictable main event, we ended up with an average show.
