John Cena VS Randy Orton (WWE Championship)

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

When John Cena and Randy Orton battled over the WWE Championship at SummerSlam, there was nothing personal about their rivalry. Their conflict revolved solely around the WWE Championship and Orton’s desire to take it and The Champ’s desire to keep it.

All that changed the day after SummerSlam. With one brutal kick to John Cena’s father’s head, Orton made their war personal. And as demonstrated in Cena’s decimation of Raw GM William Regal on Raw, the Legend Killer as brought out a vicious side in The Champ that our fans have never seen before. To Cena, the rematch at Unforgiven with Orton is about much more than the WWE Championship; it is about avenging the man who means more to him than anyone else in the world, his father.

In his nearly year-long championship reign, Cena has turned back all challenges from a wide spectrum of opponents. From Umaga to Shawn Michaels to The Great Khali to Bobby Lashley, Cena has been pushed to the edge numerous times. But no one seemed to push The Champ over the edge until Orton attacked his father in his home state of Massachusetts.

When Raw came to Boston the night after SummerSlam, it was supposed to be a joyous occasion for Cena. It was supposed to be part-homecoming, part-victory celebration. It was supposed to be a night full of proud moments. Cena was especially looking forward to seeing his father in his ringside seat. The elder Cena had always supported his son, and believed in him when everyone else doubted him. The WWE Champion has no greater fan. Cena has often pointed to the camera and said, “This is for you, Dad” after successful championship defenses.

But Orton turned a joyous event into a nightmare with one brutal kick. The Legend Killer openly seethed when Raw GM William Regal and Mr. McMahon denied his pleas to get a WWE Championship rematch with Cena. In the past, Orton has attacked others to prove a point, but his assault Monday went beyond professional sports. He attacked a man’s father. Cena’s father was just an innocent spectator, not a WWE legend or Superstar.

Maybe Orton’s attack on Cena’s father is part of his grand plan to take the WWE Championship. Maybe he hopes that Cena will be so enraged at Unforgiven, that he wil be vulnerable and prone to a key mistake that will cost him the gold. When Cena looks at his dad’s black eye, he sees Orton. He beats himself up with his own misplaced guilt. Maybe he feels that he shouldn’t have had his father at ringside that fateful night. Cena knew that Orton was remorseless and does anything to get what he wants. But Cena couldn’t have foreseen the third-generation Superstar stooping to a new low of lows. Even hardened longtime WWE observers were stunned by the attack.

And our fans may be stunned again when Cena and Orton meet for the WWE Championship at Unforgiven. We all know that Orton will do anything to win the title. But will Cena do anything to get revenge? And does anything mean possibly ending the Legend Killer’s career? The only way to find out is to catch Unforgiven, live on pay-per-view on Sept. 16 at 8/7 CT.
Triple H VS Carlito

When Triple H returned to Raw a few weeks ago, he picked up right where he left off. The Game made all of our fans laugh so hard they nearly cried when he introduced Mr. McMahon to some less-than-sexy ladies from his past. The blatant disrespect for the Chairman didn't sit well with Carlito, who decided to do something about it. Unfortunately for the Cabana host, he wasn't able to do too much, as Triple H quickly greeted him with a ring-jarring Pedigree.

Things were far less amusing the following week on Raw when Triple H found himself in a Handicap Match against Umaga and Carlito. At first, it seemed the Samoan Bulldozer and Carlito would overwhelm the 10-time World Champion, but The Game evened the odds with his trusty sledgehammer. What followed was one of the most brutal attacks ever witnessed on Raw. The King of Kings destroyed Umaga like no man has been able to do before him. When he was done, he lifted the Bulldozer's bloody skull by its hair for everybody to see, especially Carlito.

Carlito looked on in horror as he retreated up the Raw ramp. Now, with his Unforgiven match right around the corner, the Bad Apple continually relives the vicious attack in his mind as he prepares to step into the ring with Triple H. Will Carlito face the same bloody fate? Or will The Game's successful comeback suffer its first setback?

Undertaker VS Mark Henry

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

When Undertaker makes his return to the ring at Unforgiven, our fans will take notice, as will the entire SmackDown roster. But none should pay heed more than Mark Henry.

For weeks, the World’s Strongest Man has asserted that he doesn’t fear The Phenom from Death Valley, whom he viciously assaulted last May, in a post-match attack that cost Undertaker his World Heavyweight Championship. He has since declared himself the king of the SmackDown jungle, and left behind a pile of beaten, broken opponents who dare answer his Open Challenge to the Superstars in the locker room. Yet after each dismantling of an adversary, druids have suddenly appeared, each carrying an increasingly strong message for Henry: That “the man who can’t be destroyed” will return at Unforgiven.

This time, the self-proclaimed Silverback won’t be ambushing an already-injured Undertaker who just barely emerged victorious from his brutal Steel Cage Match with Batista. This time, The Phenom will be healthy, focused and determined solely on claiming the soul of Mark Henry, the latest on a long list of souls he has collected throughout his frighteningly successful career in the ring. Can Henry’s sheer power and brute strength withstand this vengeful spirit, or will the World’s Strongest Man become the latest of those whom The Phenom has laid to rest in peace?
Khali(c) VS Batista VS Rey Mysterio (WHC)

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Rey Mysterio spent 10 months rehabbing his surgically repaired left knee, but he only needed his first week back on SmackDown to win a Championship Competition and become the No. 1 Contender for The Great Khali’s World Heavyweight Title at Unforgiven. Squaring off against the 7-foot-3, 420-pound champion was an enormous challenge that Mysterio was more than willing to accept. But recent developments have motivated SmackDown GM Theodore Long to decide that Rey will play modern-day David against two of SmackDown’s mightiest Goliaths – Khali, and his longtime friend, Batista – at Unforgiven.

Despite an unsatisfying SummerSlam win over Khali via disqualification, The Animal has remained a persistent thorn in the massive side of the World Heavyweight Champion. So much so that he thwarted the Punjabi colossus from utilizing a near-two-foot, 250-pound advantage over Mysterio with a Khali Vise Grip on his masked skull. Despite Batista’s ring rescue, Rey looked badly injured from the brutal attack; this, in turn, prompted Long to officially declare that the World Heavyweight Title contest at Unforgiven – should Rey Mysterio still be physically able to appear – would now be a Triple Threat Match.

Batista and Mysterio have been friends for a long time, and clearly both Superstars would like to see the giant fall hard at the pay-per-view. But like most Triple Threat Matches, one needn’t pin the champion in order to win the championship. It’s hard enough to take a monster like The Great Khali off his feet, let alone pin him in the ring; however, if push comes to shove at Unforgiven, will these friends turn on each other in order to seize a golden opportunity?

In terms of size and power, this three-sided tale of the tape favors The Great Khali. When it comes to relentless, unbridled fury, no man can match The Animal. Yet if either Khali or Batista expect Mysterio to be easy prey, then their heads are stuck foolishly in the clouds. Just ask the other “bigger, stronger” Superstars who believed themselves above the former World Champion, only to fall fast to a pair of 619-propelled boots through the ropes. Many three-counts have ended with Rey Mysterio standing head and shoulders above the competition…and Unforgiven may be his chance to once again stand tallest in all of sports-entertainment.
Candice Michelle(c) VS Beth Phoenix (Women's Title)

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Beth Phoenix believes she is a “Glamazon” – an uber-Diva, the perfect blend of beauty, athleticism, power, intelligence and class. She believes she is what every WWE Diva aspires to be, but could never be. It's been quite some time since WWE has seen a woman who blends brute strength, ring acumen and sex appeal as well as Beth Phoenix.

When the Glamazon burst back on the scene earlier this summer, many observers believed it was only a matter of time before she challenged for the Women’s Championship. And after eliminating 11 other competitors in an all Divas Battle Royal at SummerSlam, Beth will get an opportunity at Women’s Champion Candice Michelle at Unforgiven.

Candice faces the most dangerous threat to her championship reign to date in the Glamazon. Beth is not only WWE’s strongest Diva, but she is hungry and seems to take delight in hurting her opponents. Just ask poor Maria. Beth woman-handled the Raw interviewer for two straight weeks in the ring. She would have inflicted more damage on Maria if Candice hadn’t intervened. But even the Women’s Champion seemed in awe and appeared wary of a physical confrontation with the much-larger Beth Phoenix. Was Candice fearful, or was she just being cautious and avoiding possible injury before their showdown at Unforgiven?

Candice will not be able to match Beth’s power, so she may have to rely on her speed, smarts and pure guts. She is constantly adding new moves to her repertoire and is determined to win more and more respect as Women’s Champion. Candice loves being Women’s Champion, and a victory over Beth Phoenix would cement her hold on the title and silence close-minded critics who still see her as only eye candy.

Still, Beth believes the Women’s Championship is her destiny. She is trying to make up for lost time; she first debuted on Raw in 2006, but was sidelined for more than a year with an injury. Beth believes that Candice pales in comparison to her and that only a Glamazon should hold the Women’s Championship.

But could the Glamazon’s arrogance lead to overconfidence at Unforgiven? Other Divas have underestimated Candice and wound up with their shoulders pinned to the mat. Ultimately, the battle between these two elite Divas may be decided by who is hungrier and wants the Women’s Championship more. Right now, it’s too close to call.
World Tag Championship Match

When Paul London & Brian Kendrick battle Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch for the World Tag Team Championships at Unforgiven, it will be a clash between two veteran teams who still have their best years ahead of them in sports-entertainment.

World Tag Team Champions Cade & Murdoch have watched London & Kendrick since the duo was drafted from SmackDown to Raw in June. The high-flyers turned heads with an impressive 11-month reign as WWE Tag Team Champions and stole many a show on pay-per-view with their crash-and-burn style in the ring. When London & Kendrick were drafted to Raw, the tag team division immediately heated up and onlookers licked their chops at the possibility of seeing them battle Cade & Murdoch. They couldn’t wait to see two teams who share a wealth of championship match experience, but who are also polar opposites.

While London & Kendrick rely on their speed and a high-octane aerial assault, Cade & Murdoch employ a more mat-based, ground-and pound-attack. They are ring generals and are at their best when they double-team their opponents and dictate the pace. Cade & Murdoch also like playing head games with their challengers. They want our fans and all of WWE to believe they are just a bunch of good ol’ boys who value fair play and sportsmanship. But don’t be fooled – Cade & Murdoch would knock your momma’s block off to keep their World Tag Team Championships.

London & Kendrick and Cade & Murdoch are both uniquely unpredictable. With London & Kendrick, you’ll never know what these daredevils will do to win. And the World Tag Team Champions have shown they’ll stretch – and outright break – the rules to get what they want. All is fair and love and war in Cade & Murdoch’s world, but only if it’s on their terms.

The winners of the World Tag Team Match at Unforgiven will not only set the pace in the tag team division on Raw, but also establish themselves as the dominant tag team in all WWE for some time to come.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match

Matt Hardy spent most of the summer of 2007 chasing after Montel Vontavious Porter and his United States Championship. Somehow, though, a strange twist of fate brought the diametrically opposed duo together, and they captured the WWE Tag Team Titles from Deuce & Domino.

To be perfectly frank, theirs is hardly a 50-50 relationship; Matt did all the work in their match against the bomber-jacketed thugs from the Other Side of the Tracks, yet it was the Ballin’ Superstar who took the pinfall – and the credit – in grabbing the gold. With two pieces of championship bling now sporting his waist, the self-proclaimed “captain” of this tandem won’t shut up about how he’s carrying Hardy, who happens to be an eight-time tag title co-holder. And rather than give Matt another opportunity at his United States Title, MVP insists that he wants to shift his focus toward their shared gold – which is why he agreed (on behalf of himself and Hardy) to accept Deuce & Domino’s challenge to a rematch at Unforgiven.

Clearly, this oddest of odd couples better get their act together come the Sept. 16 pay-per-view; if they can’t co-exist as a unit, Matt Hardy & MVP will each find themselves on the receiving end of a “Crack ’em in da Mouth,” and losing the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Honestly, I would say in the past 2 years, I don't think I have seen such a hyped-up card that has the possibility to be one of the best PPV's ever.

Re: Official Unforgiven Duscussion

The PPV seems like it could be decent or better. Orton/Cena and Carlito/Trips could be the matches of the night. Deuce and Domino/MVP and Hardy, Kendrick and London/Cade and Murdoch, and Candice/Beth should be decent. The Rey/Batista/Khali match could turn out to be decent or a complete disaster. And Henry/Taker won't be good wrestling wise most likely, but it will be great to see 'Taker back.

I see that Take/Henry match to be a decent one since it could be Henry's last with WWE, and he'll wanna go out with a bang, where not a better place than PPV, against Taker.

Re: Official Unforgiven Duscussion

I can't see the Taker/Henry match being anything memorable, Taker returning will be the highlight of the match. Orton/Cena, HHH/Carlito, Deuce and Domino/MVP and Hardy & Kendrick and London/Cade and Murdoch should all be good matches. Not sure about the Beth/Candice match & The WHC match though.

Mark Henry recently signed a new contract. So he'll be staying with WWE. I don't think the match will be too good, due to Mark Henry. I have no problem with Henry though as he plays a great heel. I actually like the guy, even though he can't produce great matches. Undertaker will make the match decent at best.

EDIT: Rob, you should put in the Punk/Burke ECW Championship match. That should be phenomenal. I would like to see either man win as they are the two best in ECW. I see Punk walking out with the gold though.

Yeah after Morrison got suspended, I don't see Punk losing that title for at least a month, it'll be interesting with all these suspensions in WWE.
