WWE has announced that they will be holding a free event on Venice Beach in California on August 18th. The company will actually be setting a ring up on the beach and will have a number of autograph signings, giveaways, and even some matches beginning at 10:30 AM Pacific. The idea behind it is to promote this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view, much how WWE does the AXXESS events to promote WrestleMania each year. Talent scheduled to work the special event includes Rey Mysterio, Chavo Guerrero, Torrie Wilson, Maria, Chris Masters, Chuck Palumbo, Daivari, Jimmy Wang Yang and Val Venis.
Sounds a very good way to promote the PPV. I very much doubt it will be free though. I'm sure the WWE will charge for people to watch the show. Should be a decent event if your watching it live.
