Quote:
The broadcast started with a video highlight package of those involved in tonight's World Heavyweight title matches.

- Pryo goes off; JR welcomes us to the night of champions.

- Mike Rotundo and Barry Windham are introduced sitting ringside. They show highlights of the duo in action.

(1) World Tag Team title match: The Hardy Boys vs. Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch. Match started with Matt against Cade. JR talked about the history of the tag team titles going back to 1971. Fans gave the usual "Hardys" chant to start off the match. The Hardy Boyz cleared the ring, and the heels decided to leave but Matt and Jeff went after them to bring them back to the match. They acknowledged that Murdoch is working with a swollen eye. Jeff attempted the first pin fall on Cade, but Cade kicked out. Jeff followed it up with a twist of fate. Cade pinned Jeff at 8:51 following a powerbomp. Jeff attempted a swanton bomb, but Murdoch knocked him off the top rope setting up the powerbomb.

- Backstage, Queen Sharmell warned King Booker to be careful tonight. Booker said his foes must remember he is a former World heavyweight champion and was crowned champion of champions. Booker said tonight belongs to King Booker and kisses his queen.

- Promo for Summerslam aired.

- JBL and Michael Cole talked about the late Eddy Guerrero, and they showed clips of Latino Heat bursting onto the scene. Eddy is shown wrestling Brock Lesnar from Wrestlemania.

- They acknowledged the title accomplishments of Dean Malenko, who is shown watching a monitor backstage.

(2) Cruiserweight title match: Chavo Guerrero vs. Jimmy Wang Yang. Not much heat for this one. Charles Robinson is the referee. Yang jumped off the top rope onto Chavo on the outside in front of Cole and JBL. Chavo hit the three amigos, but Yang did a heel kick to stop the final attempt. Yang missed a moonsault. Guerrero hit a frog splash to the back at 9:15 to win the match and retain the strap.

- At ring side, JR and Jerry Lawler talked about the federal investigation into the "Mr. McMahon death." They showed Vince walking to his limo, AGAIN. They tried to get into Vince's "mind set." They talked about the two individuals outside the building when Vince went to the car. King noted that Vince was nervous as he entered the limo, and said Vince's foot came back out before he closed the door. Someone held up a "Vince is not dead" sign behind JR. JR teased there could be a breakthrough in the case.

- Backstage, Grisham interviewed Bobby Lashley. Lashley talked about Vince stripping him of the ECW title, but wished Vince was here so he could see his face when he wins the WWE title tonight.

- They showed clips of Tazz in action.

(3) ECW title match: CM Punk vs. Chris Benoit. Nitro is replacing Benoit for personal reasons. Fans chanted "we want tables" as the match started. Styles said Benoit is not here tonight, again for personal reasons. Fans chanted "boring" for this one. Again, no heat at all. Nitro nearly won, but Scott Armstrong noticed Nitro had his feet on the ropes and stopped the count. Nitro blocked the first GTS move by Punk. Nitro wins with a swinging neckbreaker to win the vacant ECW title at 8:01.

- They showed highlights from the HBK vs. Bret Hart Wrestlemania 12 Iron Man Match.

- Backstage, Foley was putting tape on his hands when Randy Orton came in to tell him to be careful tonight. Orton said he took out RVD and HBK with concussions, and it would be unfortunate if he suffered the same fate. Orton tells Foley that he won their match.

- They honored Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and JR talked about his awesome program with Ric Flair. Steamboat came out.

(4) IC title match: Santino Marella Marella vs. Umaga. The referee stopped the match at 2:35 when Umaga won't heed to the official's warnings and was DQ-ed. So Marella wins via DQ. Umaga attacks Marella after the match including giving him the Samoan Spike. Fans chanted "one more time." Maria ran in to attend to Marella.

- They aired a promo for the Great American Bash.

- JBL and Cole at ring side talked about the Bash. They went out to talk about the "McMahon" case. They said Daniel Beck, the investigator, is present tonight and aired his press conference talking about the DNA of another famous individual being found. Rumors have Beck making another annoucement tomorrow night on Raw.

- They honored Magnum TA, who is also present tonight and is sitting ring side.

(5) United States title match: MVP vs. Ric Flair. MVP came out first and talked trash to Magnum TA. JBL said a young Ric Flair would have disrespected like Harley Race in his younger days. They said Race is present tonight as well. MVP applied a headlock, and you could notice Flair is bleeding from his forehead. Flair gave MVP some chops, and MVP opened up his power ranger attire to check out his chest. Cole said Flair is going for his sixth U.S. title. Flair worked on his MVP's leg to set up the figure four leg lock. He applies it in the middle of the ring, but MVP made it to the bottom rope. Referee missed a thumb to the eye, that set up the playmaker and the MVP victory at 8:40.

- Backstage, Grisham interviewed WWE champion John Cena. Before he could ask the first question, Edge came up behind Cena. Edge said Cena has his handsful tonight, while he is going to face someone he has already beaten twice. Cena calls Edge a "puss-bag." Cena leaves as the investigator stands behind Edge drinking a cup of coffee.

- Tony Garea and Rick Martel are sitting ring side, and were acknowledged.

(6) Open challenge for the WWE Tag Team title match: Deuce and Domino (with Cherry) vs. Sgt. Slaughter and Jimmy Snuka. Before the match, Deuce said it stinks in here, referring to Martel and Garea. Domino said he didn't even know they were still alive. Domino said they'll make it quick since they are living on borrowed time.

JBL said if Snuka and Slaughter win, he'll get his tag team partner Ron Simmons and return to action. Cole said Slaughter and Snuka have never teamed up before. Slaughter applied the cobra clutch on Domino, but he was able to make it to the ring, forcing the break. He applied it again, but Domino was able to get back to his corner to make the tag. Deuce mocked the Superfly, and missed his move off the top rope. Sgt. tagged in Snuka, and his worked over his son, Deuce. Snuka hit the superfly, but Deuce rolled through and pinned his old man at 6:29 to retain the tag team titles. After the match, Deuce and Domino worked over Snuka and Slaughter. (7) World Heavyweight title match: Edge vs. Batista. Before the match, Batista hugged Race, who raised Batista's hand. Stupid Michael Cole stated that Race trained Lance Cade, and JBL corrected him. Race trained Trevor Murdoch. And Cole is being groomed to replace Jim Ross? Edge slammed Batista's shoulder into the ring post, in fact, Batista's shoulder met steel three times. On the mat, Edge worked on Batista's left arm and shoulder. Batista hit the Samoan Drop, but Edge wouldn't release the hold and continued to work on Batista's power game. Impaler DDT by Edge, but Batista kicked out. Edge went for the spear, but Batista hit it first. Low blow by Edge caused the DQ finish at 12:47.

Teddy Long came out and re-started the match. Long said if he gets himself DQ-ed again, he will lose the belt. Edge speared Batista, but Batista kicked out. Edge went for a spear on the outside, but Batista kicked Edge. Batista bomb on the arena floor. - Another Great American Bash aired. The PPV is 7/22.

- Justin Roberts introduced JBL as a former World Heavyweight champion. Fans chanted "JBL, JBL." JBL handed a note to Roberts, it contained his history. It noted his radio show is on 150 radio stations, and you can view him on the Fox News Channel. He called himself the greatest champion of all time.
