Ok, so by now everybody sees and hears the fans turning on Cena more and more. Even at Summerslam (I was there) in Boston where Cena is from he couldn't get the face reaction. While at the event it seemed that the majority of the audience was fully behind Edge. When I went back and watched it on tape, it was quite obvious that Cena chants were piped in. It really was so noticable how much Cena was NOT being cheered.
With all being said. how about this.......
Smackdown is where Cena really gained his popularity and originally won the title off JBL on Smackdown. I believe that Cena was origianlly moved over so that the original WWE title could be on their number 1 show. Nothing less, nothing more.
NOW......(yes, I am getting to a point, bear with me haha).... If Cena loses the match at Unforgiven he will apparently sign a 3 year Smackdown contract.
In my opinion this does a few things.
1. John Cena's original fanbase (Chain Gang) can simply tune into Smackdown to watch another face run. You see, I always associated a typical John Cena fan as either a kid under 18 or a female. Smackdown has always been more of a family style show (as far as wrestling is concerned) and this would help promote his image to the younger crowd who are allowed to watch Smackdown and either arent allowed to watch Raw or dont have access to the USA network.
2. Cena can stay face without having to regain Edge's title. I would reckon that if Edge beats Cena again, (cheating or not) it would become the straw that breaks Cena back, turning or at least beginning the heel turn. (which is what so many of us want)
3. Edge can face someone else. Cena has been in the title scene for what seems like a HHH eternity. I wouldnt mind seeing a face HHH or HBK go against Edge. Maybe even a Hardy/Edge fued. Just something different.
4. Raw could promote a more "Rated R" style. More blood, more cheating, more T&A etc etc.
5. We could come full circle whereas next Mania, Cena can gain the World Heavyweight title and face off with Edge in a Mania Title vs. Title match. Keep in mind Edge hasnt lost at Mania, so the expectations could go either way.
I definitely agree that John Cena should go to SmackDown! they need more star power and more ratings, and John Cena can DEFINITELY bring that in for SmackDown! like he did when he was on the show before.

I mean. I went to Summerslam and the place was going nuts for Edge to win. Granted there were a lot of kids and girls cheering for Cena, clearly the majority of the vocal were rooting for Edge.
When I rewatched it on TV, you really couldn't here the chants FOR Edge. You could here the people cheering for Cena, and even when the "Cena Sucks" chants broke out, Jerry and JR continuously shout over the chants talking nonstop so you couldnt really tell what they were saying.
Cena to SmackDown would be the best idea WWE has had in a little while. He was born and raised there(metaphoricly) and going back to the show that made him IMO is the best thing for his career. And if were lucky he'll rethink his character and decide I wanna rap again, cause that's what made his character tollerable. But Edge wouldn't be a bad thing on SD either. But we'll leave that for another thread.
Cena needs a major heel turn before he goes ANYWHERE. This half and half crowd reaction shit has to go. He needs to be one or the other. Then, they need to send his ass back down to Smackdown, and, if he's lucky, get thrown into the US Title picture. Cena needs to back out of the spotlight for a while. Besides, imagine Cena/Finlay, Cena/Kennedy, Cena/Lashley.

You guys also have to keep in mind that with some of the other big names on smackdown getting hurt or leaving, that they are running out of big names on the show. Come on who is impressed with the U.S. title situation? Definitely not me. Besides we never got to see Batiste and Cena have a meaningful match. They could do alot with those two. Just some food for thought.
