WWE Judgment Day Main Event Announced

From WWE.com: SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long has announced the main event for Judgment Day, which will take place Sunday, May 21, at the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, Ariz. The self-proclaimed American Hero, and United States Champion, JBL will challenge the biggest underdog World Heavyweight Champion in the history of sports-entertainment – Rey Mysterio.

JBL issued the challenge last week on SmackDown during his United States Championship celebration. “I took a Championship off your two buddies, Chris (Benoit) and Eddie (Guerrero). You’re the third, amigo,� said the cocky JBL. “That thing is bigger than you,� he said about the World Heavyweight Championship on Rey’s shoulder. “That thing will look really good on my right shoulder with (the U.S. Championship) on my left.�

Mysterio has admitted that his Championship reign can end at any time. The 5 foot 6, 165 pound champion may be small in stature, but his enormous heart cannot be overlooked. Although Rey’s miracle reign as champion can come to an abrupt halt at any time, one thing is for sure – the master of the 619 will give it everything he’s got. Will it be enough, though, when he faces JBL at Judgment Day?

JBL as no1 contender would usually make me pissed, But looking at SD's current roster i don't see a problem with it because JBL has the mic skills to be a maineventer and decent ring skills. The injurys/Suspensions at the moment are really showing.

I'm really glad about this, JBL is a main eventer and i really want to see him win the title for a second time.

JBL is the best choice, he's the best heel Smackdown had had in a long time and he's the third best heel in the wwe. I really hope they dont throw a swerve and announce Kane as the No.1 contendor.

any way i think Rey and JBL will put on a great match and it will be nice to see JBL with the title again he has the charsmia and ring ablity to be a good champion, i just hope it does not last as long as his other run.

^what about may 19th? that doesnt mean the rumours are true. the rumours are that Kane will win at judgement day. seeing as the main event is already announced...

Maybe on May 19th Kane will move to SD and then start to make his way up to the WHC scene, SD really do need more maineventers and i think Kane deserves the push now. Also i dont think JBL will win the title because his last reign wasn't really great because he didn't draw very much and make much money.

yeah i agree POD. I can imagine Rey Mysterio celebrating with the Title and then suddenly Slow Chemical playing and Kane walking out and Rey Mysterio looking horrified then Kane gets into the ring and stares down (literally :rofl rey mysterio and does that title taunt. then the show goes of the air. that would own!

I heard that JBL is going to win the match because Rey needs time to tend to his injuries.

Oh, and JBL did sell and draw good ratings. That's one of the reasons why he was the champ for such a long time.

JBL is the best choice for the champion right now, not only because of all the injuries as of the late but because he is a drawing champion. I hope to see him with another long reign.
