Now that Jeff Hardy is out and suspended, as sad as they may be, it's time to look forward. I think WWE has a lot of possibilities here. You have Kennedy who has a lot of history with the briefcase and a promise to fulfill, you have Jericho who just won the I.C. strap and is in desperate need of a longterm storyline, and you have Matt/MVP who could potentially feud over the briefcase and in turn could elevate their rivalry to main event status with both men coming out of it looking equally as viable a contender.
I wouldnt mind seeing matt hardy getting into money in the bank and winning it and get elevated into the main event scene where I think jeff was heading by winning it this year. Kennedy would be a horrible choice to win it, what has he done latley? boring as sin! he was better when he was on roids now his in ring ability is punching and kicking, what horrible matches with him and hhh and cena that could be on the horizon if he wins. Those ppvs would not be worth the money. MVP also could be eleavted with a win and could have a decent fued with edge and undertaker in the main event
I like the idea of Hardy and MVP fighting over it but I am not sure how well that would work with The Undertaker as the champion. At this point, I would really like to see Jericho win but I would predict Kennedy. As long as they don't give it to Punk to cash in against Chavo I am cool. Also, I don't see any of the entrants actually carrying the belt for more than a month if they do actually win it.
I agree with you, whoever wins it will not have it long at all. It might be a very loooooonnnng spring and summer with HHH vs cena main events, if thats the case ill just watch the shows each week and forget about buying the PPV's, I love WWE but Enough is Enough with repeating matches after matches and weak PPV's except for NO WAY OUT I really enjoyed that and to this day I think they had to good of a PPV before mania. I got an investment in ROH dvds after mania instead of buying WWE PPV's
Good answers so far. I think its important to bring the MITB case back to its original roots. Instant credibility for a sneaky heel win ala Edge. I love the idea of a heel winning it and cheating to win his first title.
Although I see Jericho most likely getting it as he seems to need it the most, but it would have to be against Edge once he regains it off The Undertaker post mania. Like JohnnyMayCry said, whoever wins this MITB is in for a long spring and summer holding a briefcase because there wont be any time or room to play off a new rivalry.
It would almost be better if whoever won the MITB case didnt actually carry it around all the time. The announcers could simply mention it in passing. It would be nice to see the winner only bring the case out whenever its relevant. For example, if the champion is in a 3 in 1 handicap match against the MITB winner and two other dudes. Once they win, he hands in the briefcase type of thing. Or the MITB winner could start randomly showing up to the champions matches and kinda just hovering around the outside of the ring with the briefcase and tease using it.
There are many possiblilities. I would have preffered to see them let Punk have a chance, but whoever wins this one it wont be all that special to me unless they go heel.

ive heard they arent filling jeffs spot, and keeping the MITB down to 7 men. which means matt wont be in it =[.
i think jericho should win..
im a jeff fan of course...
this is what i would like see play out.
y2j snags the breifcase and when jeff comes off his suspension gets his IC rematch. Y2J arrogantly accepts saying he can beat him easily, so jeff ups the anti saying then put the MITB case on the line as well... jeff wins both and his wwe title push is restored...
I definitely don't see them letting Jeff take the MITB off the winner. He won't be just pushed to the moon again after coming back from his second suspension. All the faith McMahon and co apparently had in him will now all have to be regained now.
Anyways, with the Matt Hardy idea which I quite liked clearly not going to happen, I want Punk to win and go after some of the "bigger" gold outside of ECW. However, I'm thinking Jericho's the man who needs this most as he needs a long-term storyline to push him back to the main event and this is pretty much the obvious answer.

There is no way Jeff will come back from the suspension he received whilst in the midst of a title push to receive another one. That would just be moronic.
I'm going with Kennedy, simply for the fact that he needs it. I don't like the guy, but it could really make his career, much like it did with Edge, who was a glorified midcarder for life until he cashed in his MITB shot. Punk is an outside chance, and the title holders in Jericho and MVP have no chance. Carlito and Shelton are just filler. I wouldn't be surprised seeing Matt Hardy enter as the eight man, but he has little chance of winning too, especially since he needs to get even with MVP and take his title.
What I would like to see is Carlito or Shelton win. It'd be surprising to see a real underdog win. Secondly, he could go on to cash it in that night and lose to the Undertaker. It'll then be 17-0 and that massive 20-0 match just got closer. It would seriously break the mold of predictable winners and MITB winners (much like Rumble winners) always going on to win the gold.
I know Kennedy said he'd challenge that night, but Carlito or Benjamin is a better choice since they're massive underdogs, and would get a better match out of Taker than Kennedy would.

Carlito or Benjamin cashing in against Taker after the main event is very anti-climatic and would be a total squash if it happened. Heels are sneaky, not stupid so the only way I see it happening is if Edge and his buddies beat down Taker and then Kennedy comes out and cashes in, thus forming an alliance with Edge. That doesn't make sense either though because Edge would want a title shot and logically Taker would just end up with the belt again anyways.
