I may be alone in thinking this...but is it not terribly irresponsible to book three superstars in a match together AND have them participate in the rumble? It'd be one thing if it were their first meeting, but this is bout #3 and it could have played out on TV a bit longer and made for a match at No Way Out. I really hope this opens the Royal Rumble card, with one or more of the participants be "unable" to compete later on that evening...
Because all thirty participants have been announced. I was really behind the fact that five spots had been left unannounced, but they've apparently been filled and that REALLY takes the fun out of the match for me. Something tells me the best WWE is going to be able to do is Monty Brown. But over a guy like Kevin Thorn or Super Crazy, wouldn't you much rather see an unexpected return or debut?
Excuse me if I'm off with return dates, but a Rey Mysterio, a Big Show, a Mark Henry, or hell, even Foley? The debut of a Daniel Rodimer or Harry Smith? Or someone COMPLETELY out of left field? Anyone think this is a remote possibility this year?
And on a similar note...
Who is going to be the one to win it all in your eyes? Undertaker? Shawn Michaels? The Miz?
My dark horse pick for the Rumble this year: Randy Orton
Man, I really hope this doesn't happen but, I have a bad feeling that RAW will push Khali as the 2007 Royal Rumble winner. There have been reports that Khali is in line for a push on RAW since the injury of HHH but, I don't see where Khali can come in and save the day. For one he really isn't that big(muscle wise) to be a big man. Cena's arms are bigger than Khali's....
But if a Smackdown! wrestler wins the Rumble I am going to pick The Undertaker. I don't think he has everwon the Royal Rumble and this could put him into a number one contendors match with Kennedy(as a bridge match) and, then go into Wrestlemania against Batista.

As a concept and a one off each year, I love the Rumble. Great and very simple idea.
However, there are certain things about it that are guaranteed to piss me off.
1- Naming all the participants beforehand. None of them should be named, there is just no need to do this. I'm sure it doesn't add to the buy rate to announce them beforehand, if anything it surely only is a detriment to people buying it if they see beforehand there are going to be no surprise entrants.
2- Never ever again do the two guy over the top rope together spiel. It's been done, then (in the tradition of WWE land) it's now been done to death. Don't do it!
3- Although it has resulted in some good Rumbles, I do hate when all the top 10 guys that you'd expect to win the thing enter between 21 and 30 and the first hour or so is dead.
4- Don't let too many guys in the ring at the same time. Once there is more than 7 or 8 out there, it's a clusterfuck and nobody can tell what's going on.
My fave Rumble was probably the one Hunter won (in 2002?). That was very fine. Lot's of surprises (Hennig, Goldust returned....I'm a massive Hennig mark and to see him looking so good, and getting to the last 3 or 4 was incredible). I hated the finish to the 2001 Rumble (when Austin just got a chair and basically whacked Kane about 20 times over the head and he fell over the rope....crap!).
I also like when the first two guys out there have a bit of history, or are tag partners (Cactus and Funk for example). It gives the match a special friend against friend feel from the off. For example again, when Too Cool and Rikishi were left out there in (god knows...99...2000?) and they hi-fived only for Big 'Kishi to push his little buddies over and out. Theres no need to turn people heel and face all the time doing it, Too Cool just accepted it was the Rumble acknowledged 'Kishi and moved on!!

When Cena and Batista did it, it wasnt meant to happen

The last few rumbles have had 2 of the top guys start the rumble
2003 - Shawn Micheals & Chris Jericho
2004 - Chris Benoit & Randy Orton
2005 - Eddie Guerrero & Chris Benoit
2006 - Triple H & Rey Mysterio

So they announced the names of the people in the Rumble. I admit, I prefer when I don't know, but that's why I haven't looked. As for surprises, yes, I love them more than anything, but if there's none to be had, there's none to be had. I'd have had delayed Brown's debut and have him come in and be quite a force. Perhaps WWE will do what they've done in the past - have a surprise superstar steal someone else's entry number. Kurt Angle did it to Nunzio in 2005. I'd like to see a Thorn-type being shown unconscious, and bloody backstage halfway through the show. Then, have JR and the King announce on commentary that they've gotten word from backstage staff that there is a replacement lined up- and have someone returning, or an unexpected debut.
I agree with the clustering thing. The Rumble is good because of the delayed entrances, so exploit it, have 6 or 7 men at once, no more.
Little confrontations between aligned superstars or stars with history is always cool. A clash between the Hardys as 01 and 03 entrants in 2001, and the start of the '05 Rumble (Eddie and Benoit) stick in my mind. I like it when two big men clean house, leave bodies spread all over the ring and then stare each other down - Kane and Batista at the '05 Rumble springs to mind. I can imagine Edge and Orton facing off this year.
Views into a dream match or feud is quite cool too. Imagine CM Punk and Shelton Benjamin squaring off one on one at one point in the match - or London and RVD. Or Edge and Undertaker. Just a glimpse into these possibilities always lightens up a Rumble.
The one major gripe I had with last year's Rumble (Other than Rey winning).. it wasn't the main event! To quote the Hurricane - What's-up-wid-dat?!
As for whoever backed Orton: Orton has been a dark horse for the Rumble for the past 3 years now and not won. I would possibly back him as my favourite to win (For the 3rd year in a row), and I'd probably be wrong. Haha.

I dont like the way the rumble has been this year. I dont mind when SOME of the entrants are announced because there are some guys you know have to be in, but it is much better when there are surprises.
But my pick this year... seems they've been pushing HBK a lot
So i'd pick him to face Cena at WM. I am pretty interested to see how they get Cena past Umaga in a last man standing. Seems stupid to have Cena beat Umaga when they've built him up huge. A loss for Umaga drops him back down to... well Kane's level. But a loss for Cena wouldnt do anything to him. What do you guys think? I mean Cena vs HBK at WM is obviously the better money match but does it really make sense to have this unstoppable guy get beaten when he's really gotten the best of Cena so far.
I wouldnt mind seen Undertaker win either as long as he wins at WM, his streak should never be broken.

Neither Taker nor HBK need a Rumble win as they can honestly both headline with that extra added momentum. Edge and or Orton could use it the most as they both can main event but would need a big win to make them legit again.
either way my final four are: Undertaker. Edge. Kennedy. and Orton with Orton getting the win.
My all time favourite rumble moment has to be when Cactus Jack was number 1 (or 2) and got eliminated came back later as Dude Love again got eliminated and again came back only as Mankind and surprise surprise he got eliminated. That was so funny, why cant they do things that entertaining anymore?
Also i dont know many of the people in the match and i dont want to know so if someone lists everyone in the match you will feel my wrath.
Seriously, dont ruin it for me.
