It will be the Wrestling Machine vs. The Phenom at No Way Out. Kurt Angle has been a man possessed ever since coming over to SmackDown and winning the World Heavyweight Championship. But will it be enough to overcome the legendary Undertaker?
Just seconds after Angle brought down the World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry at the Royal Rumble, the lights went out and the bell tolled. Undertaker rode into the AmericanAirlines Arena on a black chariot driven by a white horse. The ominous sight caught Angle off guard as it was, but then the Deadman raised his arms, waited a moment and brought them down as lightning struck the ring, causing it to collapse with the Wrestling Machine still inside. Angle stood in shock, clutching his prized World Heavyweight Championship belt, as Undertaker signaled that he too wanted the gold.
Just five days later, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long said that the match between Angle and Undertaker was official, and it would take place at No Way Out. Undertaker continued to play mind games with Angle later that evening. The two Superstars met face to face in the middle of the ring. Angle said that when he’s inside the ring, he also doesn’t have a soul. The Wrestling Machine made it clear that he wasn’t afraid of the Phenom. Undertaker’s reply was short and sweet – he said that at No Way Out, Angle would rest in peace. With that, the lights went out, and when they came back on, the Deadman was gone. Undertaker had vanished.
Will the Wrestling Machine be able to stay focused heading into No Way Out, or will the Phenom’s mind games derail the Wrestling Machine?

For Randy Orton, this match is about earning an opportunity for a World Championship Match at WrestleMania 22. For Rey Mysterio, this match is much more personal.
Rey Mysterio entered the Royal Rumble at No. 2 and shocked the world when he outlasted 29 other Superstars to earn a Championship Match at WrestleMania. Randy Orton was the last man that Mysterio eliminated, and the Legend Killer still hasn’t gotten over it. In fact, Orton thinks it was a fluke.
On SmackDown, Randy Orton interrupted Mysterio’s victory speech, and said that there’s no way that the master of the 619 could defeat him in a normal wrestling match. Mysterio kept, his cool, though. But then Orton made things personal. As Rey looked up to the heavens, towards his late friend Eddie Guerrero, Orton crossed the line. The Legend Killer said that Orton isn’t looking down at Rey from heaven. He said that Eddie’s looking up at Rey from hell. Mysterio could take no more and attacked Orton. Officials swarmed the ring and separated the two.
Later that evening they were on opposite sides of the ring again, this time in a tag team match as Mysterio teamed with Angle to take on Orton and Mark Henry. Angle chased Daivari through the crowd and Henry followed, leaving Orton and Mysterio alone in the ring. When Rey went for a sunset flip, Orton was able to use his size advantage to reverse it into a pinfall. After the win, Orton told Rey that he had as much a chance of beating him as Eddie Guerrero does of coming back to life. Mysterio wasted no time in responding, accepting Orton’s challenge.
So, Rey Mysterio will put his opportunity for a World Championship Match at WrestleMania 22 on the line against Randy Orton at No Way Out. Who will go on to fight for the gold at WrestleMania?

For several months, Chris Benoit and Booker T have been battling tooth and nail over the United States Championship. On Feb. 19, they will go at it one more time, with Benoit looking to leave No Way Out with the gold he lost to Booker several months ago.
Back in October, Booker defeated Benoit for the United States Championship, turning his back on his former good friend in the process. After a series of rematches, the championship was held up by Theodore Long, who ordered a Best-of-Seven Series to determine the undisputed Champion.
In their last battle at Armageddon, Benoit defeated Booker in the fourth match of the series, cutting Booker’s lead to 3-1. However, Booker suffered an injury shortly after that match, and was unable to continue the series. Choosing Randy Orton as his substitute, Booker watched the Legend Killer lose the next two matches before defeating Benoit in the seventh and final match, giving Booker T the championship once again.
As Booker’s injury continued to heal, Benoit got another chance at the gold, but had to face another substitute. This time, it was Finlay, and the two squared off on the Feb. 3 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. As Benoit held Finlay in the Crippler Crossface, Sharmell interfered, nailing the Rabid Wolverine with a crutch to draw a disqualification.
The next week, Benoit found himself in a Fatal Four Way Match against JBL, Orlando Jordan and Matt Hardy, with the winner receiving a future match for the United States Championship. After Benoit made Hardy tap out to the Crippler Crossface, an irate Booker T stormed from the announce table.
Backstage, he met up with Theodore Long, who gave Booker an ultimatum. He told the champion that Benoit’s championship match would come at No Way Out, and there would be no substitutes. If Booker cannot wrestle against Benoit on Feb. 19, he will have to forfeit the United States Championship.
Will the Rabid Wolverine leave No Way Out as the United States Champion, or will Booker T be able to overcome his injury and retain the gold?

As of now, Bobby Lashley is still undefeated in singles competition on SmackDown. At No Way Out, Lashley will face his toughest challenge to date when he takes on the self-proclaimed “Wrestling God,” JBL.
A week before the Royal Rumble, Lashley and JBL met on Friday Night SmackDown, with Lashley getting the victory. JBL had hit the Clothesline from Hell on Lashley, but he was distracted when the Boogeyman’s music played. The distraction allowed Lashley to recover, and he hit the Dominator on JBL to win the match.
After JBL lost to the Boogeyman at the Royal Rumble, he came out on the next Friday Night SmackDown to talk about the loss. His speech was interrupted by Lashley’s music, as he came out for his scheduled match with Chad Dick. Lashley picked up the victory, but JBL attacked after the match, nailing him with the Clothesline from Hell.
On the Feb. 10 edition of SmackDown, after JBL lost a Fatal Four Way No. 1 Contender’s Match, he reminded Kristal backstage that he was a Wrestling God, and could beat anyone in the locker room at anytime. Lashley then approached JBL, and the soft-spoken newcomer offered a simple challenge: “Me and you, No Way Out.” Jillian immediately accepted, and JBL seemed surprised. However, after Jillian reiterated JBL’s earlier claims, he officially accepted Lashley’s challenge. Will Lashley stay undefeated in singles competition, or will the “Wrestling God” get back on the winning track?

A couple of weeks ago, General Manager Theodore Long held a Fatal Fourway Match on SmackDown to determine who would challenge Booker T for the United States Championship at No Way Out. Chris Benoit, JBL, Orlando Jordan and Matt Hardy all wanted the opportunity, but only one Superstar could earn it.
After putting forth a valiant effort, Hardy got caught in Benoit’s Crossface. He tried to hold on, but Hardy eventually tapped out to the devastating maneuver. Hardy looked rather dejected in the back following the loss, which is when MNM’s Melina came up to him. Melina said that it was too bad that he wasn't part of a winning team like MNM. She also told Hardy that if he scratched her back, then she would scratch his. Hardy seemed puzzled at the unusual proposition.
This week on SmackDown, Hardy got of the snide when he faced Simon Dean in singles competition. After a Twist of Fate, the man who will not die was back to his winning ways. He spotted Melina in the back after his match again. He told her that he thought about her offer and he accepts. But he wasn’t referring to the offer to “scratch her back.” Instead, he was referring to MNM issuing an open challenge to any tag team on the SmackDown roster. Hardy said that he will find a partner to take on the WWE Tag Team Champions at No Way Out.
Matt Hardy is no stranger to tag team action. He and his brother Jeff formed the exciting Hardy Boyz duo. The high-flying specialists are even five-time World Tag Team Champions. Who will Hardy choose as his partner? And will he be able to climb the ladder of tag team success once again?

Gregory Helms was a surprise entrant in the Cruiserweight Invitational at the Royal Rumble, but it was an even bigger surprise when he walked away with the gold. Kid Kash defended the Championship against all of the other former champions in a one fall to a finish match. Helms, who once held the Championship while he was known as The Hurricane, was a member of the RAW roster, but was eligible for the match nonetheless.
Helms was able to hit the Shining Wizard on Funaki to pick up the win, and immediately everyone speculated what would happen to the Cruiserweight Championship. It was previously a SmackDown-exclusive Championship, but with a RAW Superstar winning the gold, no one knew what the future held.
Helms answered those questions days later when he showed up on SmackDown, but he brought a ****y attitude with him. He claimed that he WAS the Cruiserweight Division, and no one could match up against him. Nunzio was offended by the comments and challenged him. The two fought last week, and Helms was able to back up his words.
This week, Helms continued walking around with an air of confidence, and the Cruiserweights were sick and tired of it. Scotty 2 Hotty had an opportunity to make Helms eat his words, but once again, the champion prevailed. But after he picked up the win, all of the cruiserweights in the back stormed the ring and ganged up on Helms.
Brian Kendrick, Paul London, Psicosis, Super Crazy, Nunzio and Funaki joined Scotty and all hit their signature maneuvers. Helms received treatment in the back after the vicious beating, but received some bad news that didn’t make him feel any better. He was informed that he would have an opportunity to prove that he’s better than all of the other cruiserweights at No Way Out when he takes them all on in a one fall to a finish match for the Cruiserweight Championship. Kid Kash missed out on the group beating because of a family emergency, but he will be at No Way Out looking to regain the gold.
Will Helms be able to overcome the odds and walk away with his Cruiserweight Championship? Will a former champion like Funaki, Nunzio, London or Kash regain the gold? Or will Psicosis, Super Crazy, Scotty 2 Hotty or Kendrick get their first taste of the Cruiserweight Championship? Tune in to No Way Out, only on pay-per-view, at 8/7 CT to find out.
