The Royal Rumble's starting to shape up and while I'm sure we'll have the official prediction contest posted soon, I'm wondering how you all think the Rumble match will play out.
Here's what I can see happening:
The final 3 guys in the ring will be Randy Orton, Booker T & HHH. With HHH down, Orton will tell Booker that he's cashing in his favor that's owed to him and that Booker will help Orton to eliminate HHH and then let Orton eliminate him to win the Rumble match. Booker will protest for a bit, but then pretend to go along with it. Orton will go after HHH to try to eliminate him, only to have Booker double-cross him and eliminate him. Booker would then gloat for a second too long, and get tossed out by HHH, giving him the win and the WWE Title shot at WM22.
I could see this leading to Orton screwing Booker out of the US Title, eventually leading to a #1 contender's match at No Way Out, with the winner getting a shot at the WWE title at WM22.
I think this would be an interesting feud, and a way to further the Booker/Benoit/Orton/Jordan storyline.
Orton winning the Rumble. It seems to be a foregone conclusion.. Angle turns face, Randy takes him on in the headliner of Mania.... That'd be awesome right there.

Hopefully Orton will win it. He needs it the most if he is to be a strong contender going towards Mania for a World title. Especially since his last feud (with Taker) made him look a bitch throughout and now he's just a make weight in a US Title scenario.
Maybe they have no plan to put him in S'Down's title scene.

To me the Royal Ruble used to be an awesome event. However when was the last time someone won it who wasnt a foregone conclusion months before the event?!
If Orton wins this will only serve to demonstrate this fact to an even greater degree. Now I understand that someone strong has to win in order to create a viable main event for Wrestlemania, however, why can we not have a slight edge of unpredictability?
If you want Orton in the main event at Mania it can be done in a way by which he does not need to win the rumble. Fair enough Angle Vs Orton would be a great outcome BUT this can be done by have them in the rumble match and have one eliminate the other ala Shawn and Kurt. You could even have Angle and Orton in a confrontation backstage before the match and have Kurt run in and cost Orton without him being in the Rumble himself.
As for Edges opponent, I think this could be made very interesting indeed. Keep HHH out of the main event at Mania and have a payoff match with Big Show with some sort of stipulation. Have Cena start a fued with Flair and turn heel. I would then have Rob Van Dam win the rumble and take on Edge.
So after the rumble the Mania card would look a little like -
Kurt Angle Vs Randy Orton
Edge Vs Rob Van Dam
Hulk Hogan Vs Steve Austin
Vince McMahon Vs Shawn Michaels
HHH Vs Big Show
John Cena Vs Ric Flair
I know it won't happen, but I would love to see HBK win, and challenge Angle for the belt, since their 'rubber' match on Raw ended in a non clean fashion, this would be the true rubber match, and its the main event of WM for the world belt. A ladder match would be sweet, but I don't see HBK or Angle willing to take those bumps at this point, now you have your 'big' main event, and take a chance on the Raw belt, perhaps a recently turned face HHH vs Edge. or go with the standard Cena/Edge rematch, which sucks cuz thats the Rumbles match.

Orton will probably win it. And that isnt the worst thing that would happen. WM always tries to bring a match that hasnt ever really happened and Angle/Orton would be an awesome main event. And that would once again show how the World title is above the WWE title....I don't think that the main event @ WM is set in stone yet, but they might just go with Orton/Angle. But I also expect some kind of swerve. Either a mystery participant, or having say Hardy win (I know, long shot!) and going after Edge in a TLC match. The rumble is the best ppv to watch. So just sit back and see who comes out on top and then we can all complain about it later haha.....Kane will probably go forever in it again
And that would once again show how the World title is above the WWE title
They should be on an even playing field, not one more important than the other.

I don't know about that. I knew Benoit had a great chance to win, but wasn't Goldberg in it? I wasn't sure how they were gonna get rid of that piece of shit.
Anyway, on to this year.. I do think it'll be either HHH or Orton, my guess is Orton. I think Orton will then face Angle at WM22. On the other side, I'm not sure.. If Edge loses to Cena at the Rumble then who would Edge fight at Mania on such short notice? I also think a loss for Edge to Cena would damage Edge's credability quite a bit.
The RAW main event will be interesting to see how they deal with it, because I can't see this HHH/Show feud lasting much longer.
