After watching this PPV last year, I decided that WWE would be better off if they never did this PPV again, but here we are. I really don't like the concept of an interactive PPV. I wanted to give this a shot last year, but it failed miserably in my eyes.
1) The stipulations and such you can vote for are pretty much crap and the voting system sucks. And the worst part is, they can't make them better. You know when Mr. McMahon says, "I know what the fans want more than they do" ? Well, I hate to tell you all, he's right. If you let the fans decide which matches would take place for the whole card, it'd be awful. We have a lot of bright guys on this forum who I think could actually be a writer, but for the most part, the bulk of wrestling fans are idiots.
2) The matches suffer. There are some guys who can give a great match with somebody without much notice, but I got the feeling watching this last year that most of these guys didn't know what the hell they wanted to do out there. The matches had no real story telling and felt like I was watching a house show.
3) WWE will do something crazy just to make you feel like "anything can happen tonight" To me, that's not good business. You don't make something crazy happen just to make it happen. That's Russoism. You make things happen that are actually good ideas and not spur of the moment shit to make the idiots at home feel like they are booking the fucking show.
I definitely can't see myself ordering this PPV. Hell, I don't have a clue what the matches will be and I am actually scared of what could happen. You just know the dumbest possible shit will be voted on by these idiots.
I liked the idea of the fans picking the #1 contender.
As for not being able to book the matches well enough, if they start the voting early enough, they can get a good idea of who or what stipulationis winning the vote, and they can plan the match accordingly.
These are a couple of ideas I have for the PPV. It's pretty obvious that the Angle-Cena feud is far from over. So, you dont want to have a "fans pick the #1 contender" stip, because that's a waste. If they don't pick Angle, then the weeks of build-up and the DQ at Unforgiven are worthless. If they do pick Angle, then it's so obvious it wasn't worth having a vote. So, instead, have the fans pick a stipulation, preferably one that guarantees no DQ finish, or with Bischoff barred from ringside
Instead, you have fans pick the #1 contender for Flair's IC title, and have it be between the young guys like Carlito, Masters, and Shelton. And have the two that don't win face each other in a match to see who will fight for the IC title at Survivor Series.
Another idea would be to have a "sideshow" type match for Big Show. For instance, the fans can vote on whether they want to see him wrestle in a handicap match against like three jobbers, in a sumo match, etc. Something weird but fun like that
Another idea I had would be to have a "finishing move is banned" match. So, let's say, the match is HHH vs. HBK. The fans can vote on whether they want the Pedigree or Sweet Chin Music banned from the match. Or something along those lines.
There are a lot of interesting things they can do besides just "pick the stipulation" and "pick the challenger"

thank you sir. The thing is, with the current crop of writers, who knows if they'll be able to come up with something clever and original

That's my whole problem with having the PPV. The writers aren't good enough to make in run smoothly, and the fans are too stupid to pick what should be on the card. For instance, if they did have the #1 Contender on the line, you know a bunch of idiots would end up voting foe somebody to get the match other than Angle.
The fans don't know what's best for them. Good ideas though D, I like 'em.
That's why I hate letting people vote for most things, they never choose what's best they choose what is most popular. Like the Teen Choice Awards, people dodn't choose who deserve's to win they pick who they like the most.
