| WWE No Way Out Prediction Thread with winner. WWE NO WAY OUT - FEBRUARY 20, 2005 We are only offering prizes for the big 4 PPV prediction contests (Rumble, Mania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series). Prediction threads will still occur for the other PPV's (for fun only). This is the second such thread. As more matches as announced, they will be added to this thread. State the person(s) who you think will win their match. In the event of a tie, also state how they will win it. An overall leaderboard will be created and maintained for these "fun-only" PPV's, through-out the year. Look for that to be posted after this PPV. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ BARBED WIRE STEEL CAGE WWE TITLE MATCH: JBL VS BIG SHOW ![]() WWE Champion JBL barely had time to savor his impressive Triple Threat Match victory over Big Show and Kurt Angle at the Royal Rumble when General Manager Theodore Long had some sobering news for the champ. Long made the first-ever Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match, featuring JBL, who has now been champion for seven months, against Big Show, the Superstar JBL didn't pin at Royal Rumble. Will this ultra-dangerous match finally spell the end of JBL's reign? Or will JBL manage to hang on to his dear belt for yet another magical night? LUTHER REIGNS VS UNDERTAKER ![]() Luther Reigns hasn't actually been on the good side of Undertaker lately. Of course, Kurt Angle's menacing henchman and former prison inmate couldn't care less. This budding rivalry started during Taker's quarterfinal match with Rene Dupree in the SmackDown! No. 1 Contender Tournament. Reigns and Mark Jindrak wanted to make sure Taker couldn't advance and possibly face Angle in the next round. As a result, their interference forced a Double Countout and cost Taker a chance to headline WrestleMania 21. One week later, Reigns announced he hardly was scared of Undertaker. On cue, Taker appeared during a tag team match during SmackDown! from Japan. Reigns would clear the ring, leaving Jindrak to take the brunt of the punishment. But he won't have room to hide in Pittsburgh on Feb. 20, at No Way Out. NO. 1 CONTENDER MATCH: KURT ANGLE VS. JOHN CENA ![]() The Road to the WrestleMania 21 main event will hit a dead end for one of these SmackDown! Superstars at No Way Out on Feb. 20 in Pittsburgh. Kurt Angle, a four-time WWE Champion, will take on Cena in Angle’s hometown in the final of the No. 1 Contender's Tournament. The winner of this match will have a chance at the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 21 on April 3. That match will either be a one-on-one encounter with the WWE Champion at the time, or a Triple Threat Match that includes the champion, the tournament winner and Batista, if Batista decides he wants to leave RAW and pursue the WWE Championship. Angle defeated Rey Mysterio in his quarterfinal match and then was fortunate enough to receive a bye into the final when Undertaker and Rene Dupree had their match end with a Double Countout. Of course, Angle henchmen Luther Reigns and Mark Jindrak supplied the timely interference to cost Taker a chance at advancing. Meanwhile, Cena won matches against Orlando Jordan and Booker T to advance to the final of the tourney SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long organized after the Royal Rumble. Somebody will get an elusive shot at the WWE Championship, and somebody will need to make new plans for WrestleMania 21. Don’t miss No Way Out to see how it all unfolds on Feb. 20. WWE TAG TITLE MATCH: THE BASHAMS vs. REY MYSTERIO & EDDIE GUERRERO ![]() Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio are undoubtedly two of the most popular Superstars on SmackDown! today. They are also two of the greatest Latino wrestlers of all-time. And at No Way Out on Feb. 20, Rey and Eddie will team up with a chance to add to their already impressive resumes. Mysterio & Guerrero will face the Bashams for the WWE Tag Team Championship. The Bashams have had a terrific run of success since joining JBL’s Cabinet as the WWE Champion’s Secretaries of Defense. They defeated Rey Mysterio and then-partner Rob Van Dam to win the title in January, but the Bashams helped themselves in that match by taking out an already injured RVD by smashing his knee with the steel steps. But Doug & Danny will have their hands full against two of the most athletic men on the SmackDown! roster. CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP ELIMINATION MATCH ![]() Funaki has been on quite a roll since upsetting Spike Dudley for the Cruiserweight Championship at Armageddon. But now, SmackDown!’s self-proclaimed No. 1 announcer will have his hands full in a six-man Elimination Match for the championship. Funaki will share the ring with Paul London, Shannon Moore, Chavo Guerrero, Spike Dudley and Akio in what figures to be an exciting and high-flying match. ROOKIE DIVA 2005 COMPETITION ![]() Joy, Michelle, Rochelle and Lauren will compete in three sexy events to determine the SmackDown! Rookie Diva of 2005. There will be Swimsuit, Evening Gown and Talent competitions, and the winner will be decided through arena and on-line voting among WWE fans. All four ladies already began campaigning, prancing around the ring during a tag team match on the last SmackDown!, holding up signs with their names. Don’t miss out as the best young Divas try and outdo each other at No Way Out on Sunday. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ credit: www.wwe.com | ||||||||||||||

| JBL vs. Show - JBL via pinfall. Undertaker vs. Reigns - Taker via pinfall (chokeslam & tombstone) Angle vs. Cena - Cena via pinfall. Basham Brothers vs. Eddie Guerrero & Rey Mysterio - Eddie and Rey win. Frogsplah on a Basham for the pin. Funaki vs. Paul London vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Spike Dudley vs. Shannon Moore vs. Akio - Funaki retains via pinfall. Booker T vs. Heidenreich - Booker T via pinfall (scissor kick and bookend). Rookie Diva Contest (why the Hell is this crap getting time on a WRESTLING PPV???): Joy wins, showing that once again useless airheads get a push in the WWE and quality talent like Victoria, Molly, etc. are just cast off to the side. | |||||||||||||||

| Do they really only have 4 matches announced for a PPV that's a week away? Worse than that, what kind of momentum does either brand have going into Wrestlemania? They each maybe have 2 to 3 matches to contribute. Mania could be a stinker...the first time that's happened since WM 13: Heat! Alright, enough complaining, on to my predictions: Barbed Wire Cage Match for the WWE Championship John Bradshaw Layfield vs. The Big Show Prediction: JBL by pinfall Though I like Big Show OK, I'd much rather see Cena/JBL at Mania than Show/Cena. #1 Contender's Tournament Semifinal Match John Cena vs. Booker T Prediction: Cena by pinfall Why couldn't they have done this tournament all in one night? It's not like they're actually using the other guys in the tournament (except for Taker), so they could've done the whole thing in one night. Stupid. #1 Contender's Tournament Final Match Kurt Angle vs. John Cena Prediction: Cena by pinfall This match should've happened a long, long time ago. The whole time Kurt was Smackdown GM, he messed with Eddie & Cena. Eddie got the feud coming out of it, and his beef with Cena was forgotten. Kurt should be able to carry Cena to the match of his career (Cena's, that is). The Undertaker vs. Luther Reigns Prediction: Reigns by pinfall Heidenreich interferes, maybe Snitsky makes a cameo, maybe Kane too...this match will suck badly. | |||||||||||||||

| Big Show - JBL Not going to be pretty is it. JBL to win, but probably down to something quite strange like Big Show passing out though blood loss or something else equally bizarre, purely so they can protect him whilst not putting the title on a the big slow. Angle - Cena Angle to win. I guess the telegraphed finish is due to HBK interfering. Should be Cena winning to look strong going into Mania, Angle having a fit and brutalising Cena post match THEN Michaels get's involved. Undertaker - Reigns Obvious Taker win. Hopefully clean with tombstone. Booker - Heidenreich Heidenreich. Possibly not a clean win but Booker gets dumped on by every goon they try to push so why should this be different? Bashams - Mysterio/Eddie Bashams have only just won the titles. Mysterio and Eddie are touted to feud at Mania, so Bashams to win. Probably Eddie tries to cheat and it backfires leading to a row between Eddie and Rey. Cruiserweight Six Man Clusterfuck God only knows. I'll go Paul London just because he's done a few spots on telly recently, he maybe the only one that's never held the title, and he has a ready made fued with Kidman if they put it on London. Do we have to vote for the Diva rubbish too? In which case I'll go for Joy just because, well....because I would go for Joy!! | |||||||||||||||
