Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Royal Rumble Swerves This years Royale Rumble card has the potential to be the best WWE PPV in a long time (at least on paper it looks that way). The problem is, most of the outcomes seem predetermined and thus, there is no real shock value or excitement left for the PPV. Think about it. Most of us feel that Cena or Batista will win the Rumble Match, HHH will win his match (so he can face Batista for the title), and that Bradshaw will retain and fight Big Show next month in that barbed-wire steel cage match. So what I am asking all of you is, what swerves or new storylines would you create out of the current PPV card? Here is what I would like to see... Casket Match - winner: Undertaker Heidenrich is done... enough said. The character sucks and he should have been taken off television long ago. Undertaker will then be ready to move on to a new story while Heidenriech goes for more development. Edge vs Michaels - winner: Edge via spear This match has some history and the WWE has actually done a decent job refering to it... not a great job of promoting the match, but when the two characters confront each other they mention it. Anyway, I think a loss for Edge burries him whereas the win brings him up a level and will not affect the status of Michaels (see later prediction) WWE Championship - winner: Kurt Angle via Anklelock on Big Show Bradshaw has held the title for quite some time and Angle is a top-rated wrestler in the company therefore, a title switch, especially where the champ does not lose the match wont hurt Bradshaws status. This would also further the faction fued between Bradshaw and Angle. Bradshaw would be entitled to a rematch in the barbed-wire cage next month (although he would lose that in a bloody battle). As for Big Show, he along wth Taker and John Cena could battle for the right to face the champion at Wrestlemania in a triple-threat number one contenders match next month. World Heavyweight Championship - winner: Randy Orton via RKO I know what all of you are thinking.... "Randy Orton win? This guy is nuts!" but hear me out. An Orton win at the Rumble could actually further the fued between Batista and HHH because Batista could use Orton's win to poke fun of HHH until eventually, HHH snaps and the two break out in a fight. On top of that, Batista and HHH already have a significant amount of momentum behind them. They do not really need to fight for the World Heavyweight Title. Every fans interest for that match is already about to explode. Therefore, I would put it on the undercard at Wrestlemania and have the storyline progress for the next several months without the title involved. Eventually, HHH and Batista would both face Orton in a Triple-threat match with Batista capturing the title. Orton and HHH would get a Triple-threat rematch as well as individual rematches against Batista. As for Orton and the World Heavyweight Championship see below... Royal Rumble Match - winner: Shawn Michaels (eliminates Batista last) Okay if you have stayed with me so far then hear are the reasons for a Michaels win. Reason #1: the Rumble win will allow Michaels to regain anything he lost earlier in the night to Edge. In addition, Edge can attempt to use his win to get a match on RAW against Michaels for the right to face Orton at Wrestlemania (Michaels however, would win). Reason #2 Michaels vs Orton has history. The WWE can use this to build-up the match and Orton can easily be turned heel by becoming the arrogant character that allowed him to get to the championship in the first place. Reason #3: Michaels eliminating Batista last in the Rumble match will provide HHH with fuel to throw back in Batista's face for any comments he makes about losing to Orton (should provide for new and interseting interview segments). Reason #4: Isn't it about time we had a non-main event match be one of, if not thee most anticipated match of the night. Remember the Stone Cold-Mcmahon feuds. Those were great and often were undercards to main-event title matches. |

Rep Power: 10 ![]() | A good swerve would be Big Dave costing Trips the title, but that's not gonna happen anytime soon or ever. | |
