| Wrestlemania XX - Early Predictions Wrestlemania XX is starting to come together. Some of the matches are already set, but some are still up in the air. I'm just curious to see how you all would book the card. Here's how I think it'll go down: World Heavyweight Championship - Round Robin Tournament Triple H (Champion) vs. Chris Benoit vs. Shawn Michaels I think that this would be *so* much more interesting if they booked as something other than a triple threat match (which I generally dislike). I think that, since they can't decide if HBK or Chris Benoit should get the match (kind of a silly situation considering an official contract would have Chris Benoit's name printed somewhere on it...making HBK's signature irrelevant), they should set up a type of round robin tournament between the three of them. Make it a double elimination one-on-one type of match between the three of them, so that the odd man out sits at ringside waiting for a fall, so that he can enter the match and go for the gold. Once one of the guys is pinned or submits twice, he's out. That'd make for better drama than another drab triple threat match...and it'd place more meaning on the individual match-ups. All things aside, I think that Benoit is due for a title run - and he can continue after Mania into a program with HBK, since Haitch is gracing the acting community with a few films in the months following Mania. Winner: Chris Benoit WWE Championship Eddie Guerrero (Champion) vs. Kurt Angle Kurt's heel turn on Eddie is coming - and I'd say this Thursday, it'll all come to a head. As far as this match goes, I don't think that Kurt needs the belt. Eddie just won it, and a short title reign won't do anything positive for him or the championship. I pick Eddie to retain. Winner: Eddie Guerrero Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar In spite of two title matches, this one will be the true headliner. In agreement with Internet rumors, I think that they'll make Stone Cold the special guest referee for this one. I hope that WWE is able to renew Goldberg's contract, because a match with SCSA at Summerslam would be HUGE. There is so much potential for him coming out of this match that it'd be a shame if they weren't able to take advantage of that. If Goldberg re-signs with WWE, I pick SCSA to get revenge for the spear he took on Raw, costing Goldy the match. If he doesn't renew his contract, I pick Lesnar anyhow. Winner: Brock Lesnar Undertaker vs. Kane Excellent build-up for this one so far. Unfortunately for Kane, he doesn't stand a chance. The Undertaker's been out for months, is ready for the receipt from Survivor Series, and will be debuting the latest version of his deadman gimmick - all signs of a successful comeback. Hopefully, they don't book Kane to look like complete cannon fodder in this one. Winner: Undertaker The Rock & Mick Foley vs. Randy Orton & Batista The Rock not returning for Mania seems absurd. The Rock returning to Mania in a main event spot also seems absurd. Everybody loves the Rock & Sock Connection, so why not give them one last run against 1/2 of Evolution? I'm thinking that Orton and/or Batista & Flair will drop their titles in the next few weeks, so that the belts can be used to elevate other matches on the card. This match is hard to call. As much as a victory for Orton & Batista would skyrocket their careers, the return of The Rock after 9 months or so out of the ring AND Mick Foley's L-O-N-G awaited return seems like a bigger priority. Then again, a loss for Rock & Foley wouldn't tarnish their reputations too badly - as neither are regular workers. I'm going with a push for Randy & Dave. Winners: Orton & Batista Chris Jericho (with Trish Stratus) vs. Christian The second of Raw's one-two-punch in storylines over the last few months will finally come to a head. It doesn't look like a "wow" match on paper on its own, but these two are two of Raw's top workers, and they can deliver - not to mention they have a great story behind the match. I think that Christian's flirtation with Trish will open the next chapter in this saga, with Trish turning on Y2J, solidifying his face turn, and continuing this feud into Backlash. Winner: Christian Intercontinental Championship Booker T (Champion) vs. Rob Van Dam While Randy Orton having the I-C belt should be WWE's plan for the next year or so, a quick title change is needed to get two of Raw's most underused talents, RVD & Booker T, some kind of program going into Mania. They've already had a triple threat match with Orton for the belt, so why not have one of them (I'm picking Booker) pick up a win for the belt on Raw, setting up a match between the two? Makes sense to me... I hate quick title changes, so since I pick Booker to get the nod before Mania, I pick him to retain. Winner: Booker T United States Championship Big Show (Champion) vs. John Cena This one is a given. Cena's the hottest thing on Smackdown right now. The Big Show has defended the belt maybe twice since October. The program's there - run with it. Winner: John Cena Battle of the Tag Team Champions The World's Greatest Tag Team (WWE Tag Team Champions) vs. The Dudley Boyz (World Tag Team Champions) Scotty 2 Hotty & Rikishi don't deserve the belts, so get them back on Smackdown's only worthy tag team. Flair & Batista don't need the belts, and the Dudleys have no program without them. Since WM-XX is all about interpromotional battles, and these are the two best tag teams in the entire company, it makes sense to throw out this little challenge. I think that Haas & Benjamin taking this one would do more for them than it would for the Dudleys, who seem to be losing a lot lately. Winners: W.G.T.T. Lingerie Match Torrie Wilson & Sable vs. Stacy Keibler & Miss Jackie Well, hopefully it'll be better than last year's pillow fight. Eye candy matches are good for what they're worth, so keep it short, sweet, and scantily clad. Winners: Male viewers Women's Championship - Fatal Four Way Match Molly Holly (Champion) vs. Victoria vs. Lita vs. Jazz An injury type of angle would keep Trish out of this - maybe she gets hurt helping out Y2J on Raw the Monday before the PPV - who knows. All 4 of these women deserve to be in the title picture, and picking one over the other seems unfair. Molly has been champion since June(!), and it's someone else's turn. Lita and Jazz have both made returns during Molly's reign, but I think Victoria is due for the gold. Winner: Victoria Cruiserweight Championship Battle Royal Chavo Guerrero (Champion) vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Tajiri vs. Akio vs. Sakoda vs. Billy Kidman vs. Paul London vs. Shannon Moore vs. Jamie Noble vs. Funaki vs. Ultimo Dragon The internet's been talking about this one and it's the best alternative to any one-on-one CW match at this point. That aside, I pick Chavo to retain. Winner: Chavo Guerrero Matt Hardy, Version 1.0 vs. Edge Matt Hardy's jump to Raw was a good decision for his love life, but it's been career suicide. Still, he can't be left off of this card. Edge will be ready for a triumphant return, so I'm thinking the Sensei of Mattitude will issue an open challenge to someone on either roster, and Edge will comeback and get the squash victory. Winner: Edge "The Match That Should Have Been" "Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Hulk Hogan There's widespread rumors regarding Hogan returning for Mania, and this match should have happened 12 Wrestlemanias ago. Instead, we got a "double main event" of Hogan vs. Sid Justice and Flair vs. Randy Savage. Was Vince on something?? Sure, neither guy is in the shape he was at WM VIII, but this could be one for the ages. The #1 guy in the WWF vs. the #1 guy in the NWA/WCW. Since Hogan is a WWE creation, and would be making a big return, and is a big frickin' baby, I pick him to take the victory. Winner: Hulk Hogan I think that covers 99% of the guys who should be on the PPV. Mania might need to be 5 hours, if they try to squeeze in as many matches as I did! Any thoughts on my input, or any additions/changes? | |||||||||||||||

| Your predictions look pretty good. The WWE championship has changed hands at damn near every WrestleMania (except 11, and maybe one other - I'm not sure). So it would be rare for it to not change hands this time around; although Eddie just won it - so it's certainly possible. Oh and, to further what you said, there's no way in hell Undertaker is losing a WrestleMania match. He's got that perfect record to think about. | ||||||||||||||

| WWE Title: Eddie Guererro vs. Kurt Angle. Eddie retains World Heavyweight Championship: HHH vs. Chris Benoit vs. HBK. HHH wins by pinning HBK. Benoit gets the one-on-one title shot and wins at Backlash in his hometown. World Tag-Team Championship: Booker T-RVD vs. Dudleys with a stipulation. Probably a tables match (again...). Dudleys win. Again WWE Tag-team titles: Scotty and Rikishi vs. Haas and Benjamin. Haas and Benjamin win. Personally, i would put this on Heat U.S. Title: Cena vs. Big Show. Cena wins, and takes the first step toward main-eventing WM XXI Cruiserweight Title: Battle Royal. Chavo, Rey, Kidman, Paul London, Tajiri, Akio , Sakoda, Jamie Noble, Ultimo Dragon, Shannon Moore. Chavo retains Women's title: Molly vs. Jazz vs. Victoria vs. Lita. Victoria wins the title Kane vs. Undertaker. Taker returns as the dead man and wins the title Rock and Foley vs. Orton and Batista. cant see the rock and sock connection losing Goldberg vs. Lesnar. F5. Lesnar wins Y2J vs. Christian. Christian wins when Trish turns on Jericho Stacy-Jackie vs. Torrie and Sable. ugh I seriously hope theres no Vince-Bishoff match... | |||||||||||||||

| i think all the main matches have been covered but i quite frankly think its wishful thinking on most of those parts. if WWE left RVD and Kane off mainia last year for some skanks think how they'll treat the cruiserweights at this years especially with this crappy playboy storyline with Jack/Stacy vs Torrie/Sable going. my predicted mania WWE TITLE Eddie vs Kurt - should be a great match i pick Eddie to win. WORLD TITLE HHH vs Benoit vs Michaels - BENOIT!!!! PLEASE HHH, LEARN TO JOB!!!!! Goldberg vs Lesnar Chris Jericho vs Christian WWE TAG TITLESTWGTT vs Scotty and Rikishi vs APA WORLD TAG TITLES RVD and Booker T vs The Dudleyz vs La Resistance Kane vs Undertaker - expect this one to be Gimmick PACKED!!!!!!!! Cruiser battle royal - i think they will jsut fill this one. im hoping for a royal rumble type format but with shorter gaps, perhaps only 30 secs. WOMENS TITLE Victoria vs Molly vs Lita vs Jazz Torrie and Sable vs Stacy and Miss Jackie. Heat Before Mania starts - Steven Richards vs Test[/b] | ||||||||||||||
