Vince vs. Taker - Buried Alive Match Prediction

As annoying it is to have [b:post_uid0]TWO[/b:post_uid0] big McMahon matches at Survivor Series, I think that the Buried Alive match has great potential for a storyline. Follow me on this one:

'Taker/Vince comes as the second-to-last match of the night, before one of the big title matches. Vince ends up winning when Kane goes and attacks his brother. Kane does some kind of stunted thing that causes 'Taker to lose.

The following night on Raw, Kane is interviewed talking about how he's not the Undertaker's brother, and only made that up to torment him over the past several years. He says that he has finally put him away, and now he can be the only truly unstoppable force in WWE...once he takes out Goldberg.

Meanwhile, 'Taker is not seen or heard from for several months.

Kane, meanwhile, continues his destruction spree, and eventually defeats Goldberg for the World title at Royal Rumble.

During the "big" Raw episode in February (since SD gets No Way Out), it's announced that HHH has been traded to Smackdown, but noone is saying for whom. Late in the show, Kane's defending the title against someone (RVD, Booker T, whoever), when the lights go out. A shadowy figure can be seen somewhere in the arena (the catwalk, on the entrance stage, somewhere), but the person is not seen, only a cloud of smoke is left where he stood.

This continues for a few weeks, until Kane gets fed up and challenges his mystery stalker to a World Title match at Wrestlemania.

Wrestlemania comes and Kane's mystery opponent still is unknown. Kane comes to the ring first and waits. The lights go out, then a remix of Undertaker's original music hits and he comes down with the deadman gimmick accompanied by Paul Bearer! 'Taker catches Kane off guard, tombstones him, and gets a squash victory for the title.

This would help explain plot holes in the whole Kane/Undertaker storyline and make for a cool return of 'Taker's old gimmick.

Sure, this is kind of abbreviated booking, but what do you all think of this?

If he doesn't come back as The Dead Man after The Survivor Series I'll be very surprised.....a Kane vs Taker match would be a very interesting one. ::baa::

I'd love to see it happen, but hasnt WWE been having a bit of a bad run in the nostaliga angles?

There are reasons why I like and dislike this feud, so it'd be hard to call whether it would actually be benefical.

*Gives Kane a much needed push for the title
*The build up is something lacking in WWE's era of "Quick fixes"
*Gives us a good 'Mania match.

However...

*Ugh, why all the demands for the Deadman gimmick? Good at the time.. but now, after 'Taker's been booked as a slugger badass biker dude for the last 3 years? I know I wouldn't like it...
*Pink makes a good point - we don't need any more re-churned angles, gimmicks or anything. New stuff.

Right now the plan is that Stephanie is going to cost Taker the match and he will come back as the Deadman. This way Steph makes her father happy and is back on TV ;)

I see your points on this one, but I know I'm not alone in thinking that 'Taker's dead man gimmick was much cooler than his current biker schtick. It evolved throughout his WWE tenure, and I think that it's time for it to evolve again. I'm not saying for him to go back to 1991 Undertaker...not at all. But, I would mark out if he cut back on "redneck biker" and added a lot more "supernatural evil guy" to his image.

And, I don't really see it so much as a re-churned angle but rather the continuation of a saga that started 6 years ago. No mention has been made of the Undertaker with Kane's whole persona change. I think that this would tie up the loose ends more than rehash something.

I think its a good idea as long as smackdown has the main event. I just dont think Kane will ever main event mania, I think this is all down to personal opinion, but he's just to damaged. The thing about not being his brother would have to go as well, because it would make even less sence than anything else they've done with him (remember they where a tag team for a while).

Rhyno's #1 mark just layed the smackdown!

and I have to say regarding what you said 3D, this "loss" to Vince could see Taker come back as the deadman as he would have been "buried" so its kinda hinting at it...well for me anyway.

brings me back to the old fake taker storyline (with Million Dollar Man - one of my favourite storylines ever)
