Re: October PPV's History And Discussion
Let's see
1995 was yet another horrible show, this time without Shawn Michaels or Bret Hart there to deliver something of quality.
1996 had a fun Austin/Triple H match that was over shadowed by Jim Ross' heel antics. Besides the ending, completely unmemorable show.
1997 suffered largely due to Pillman's death. It may have the first HIAC, but every other match was horrible.
1998 had X-Pac vs D-Lo. That's it.
1999 saw Edge/Christian and The Hardys finally making a name for themselves. Can't recall anything else.
2000 was a two match show that luckily had Rock/Angle and Benoit/Trips to save a bad show.
2001 was decent with a really good Jericho/Rock match. The other matches were at least passable for PPV.
2002 had one half great and the other half horrible. Thank god for the SD 6.
2004 looked like a great show, but nothing delivered. One of the bigger disappointments of the year.
No Mercy 2005 had a few decent matches, but the main event was so overrated. I really enjoyed the CW title match though.
No Mercy 2006 was about the time SD started to improve for the first time since 2003. Benoit vs Regal was amazing, Londrick delivered another forgettable, but good title defense and Matt Hardy and Gregory Helms tore it up.

Re: October PPV's History And Discussion
My two favourite HIAC matches actually occured in this month, October seems to be another of them months where the PPV's never set the world on fire but you normally get a quality PPV or two in there.

Re: October PPV's History And Discussion
2004 had the awesome London/Kidman match which is one of Kidman's best singles matches. The Rey/Chavo match from 2006 was also a lot of fun.
I wonder how well the 2001 triple threat holds up, havent seen that since it happened...

If I remember rightly it wasnt a great match, they just stuck RVD in it because he was red hot with the fans at the time, they basically killed his push not long after this and he ended up feuding with the likes of Goldust and William Regal.
Chris Jericho and The Rock should have main evented that show IMO.

I love these threads.
I agree that the Kidman match was the highlight of his career. I honestly never understood why he didnt get one decent push in his WCW or WWE career.
This thread also makes me miss King Boooookah. He was the shit.

He had the short feud with Hogan in 2000. But once it was over, he was put right back where he was before.
