Re: WWE Breaking Point - WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena
I'm thinking now that this will go on last due to the fact that a new Champion is probably going to be crowned, and Punk/Taker will probably have a screwy finish. Looking forward to the other main matches more than this due to the impact PG will have on an I Quit match, but this should be good nonetheless.
"A few weeks prior to signing with WCW, I witnessed Hogan wrestle Flair on Nitro. Now strictly from a fan perspective, it was very hard to watch. What I witnessed that night was two legends that were shells of their former selves still trying to do it. Watching Hogan & Flair that night just wasn't right. In my opinion the bookers were just exploiting them to try to pop a number. It was a desperate situation and that's exactly the way it came across on TV."

Re: WWE Breaking Point - WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena
I hated this match. I appreciated the story it was trying to tell. But along with Randy moving like he was the first generation Orton and Cena's awful selling, I thought it was terrible.
Cena only has one tone of voice, even after he's had his head stamped on. Myself, I'd probably be slurring or I'd struggle to speak. Cena, Superman that he is, does war crys each and every time.

They had a nice idea with the handcuffs but this still could have done with blood and more hate and violence. Orton's walk around.... punch.... walk around... stomp.... walk around... routine is really tired and boring to me now and this match should have moved a lot quicker. I can't believe that after spending the last year getting his ass handed to him almost every week suddenly we are meant to see Orton as some stone cold killer who can destory anyone. I couldn't suspend my disbelief even a little watching this tbh, probably just me but it feels so forced. The finish was also weaksauce and Michael Cole yelling "Randy Orton has reached his.... BREAKING POINT" made me want to punch a baby in the face.

We're discussing this elsewhere and I know I said we'll have to agree to disagree but it figures.. the one time I think Orton's character/style really works, you don't like it.

Yeah i agree man. I didnt mind the idea of a slow beatdown but it was too slow, Cole at the end was embarrassing. I cringed and kept on having to change the channel.

Eh. The match was alright. Nothing to run home about. I appreciate what they try to did, but it just didn't feel right with me. Once Cena got the keys, it kind of just went downhill from there. I understand the limitations Cena had - but he should have had more offense in before Orton quit. Orton did SO much to Cena, and once he got the STF - it should have dragged on more than it did. If I were to give it snowflakes, it'd be a solid ***. But I just didn't see the **** in it.
Re: WWE Breaking Point - WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena
I don't see the problem with the comeback/finish in all honesty. Yes Orton delivered a fair few head shots, but it wasn't like he was doing things to Cena that he would find impossible to come back from. Orton had him cuffed and was basically just torturing him to try to make him give it up. It wasn't like he was trying to inflict serious damage which would prevent Cena from making a comeback. He didn't work on body parts etc, it was mainly just cane shots to the body and head, stuff like that. Once Cena was able to free himself, he could quite easily and believably mount a comeback, using the pain he is going through as motivation to beat the hell out of Orton, which he did. It was basically just a flurry of offence as he used up all his pent up frustration and anger. It's not unbelievable for him to battle through the pain (not serious injury or anything, just superficial pain) in that way.
The finish did seem to happen suddenly, and the comeback could have been drawn out a little more, but I don't see how quitting is bad when you're getting choked out with a chain.
