Dolph Ziggler came to SmackDown as part of the 2009 Draft, promising that the WWE Universe would remember his name. What started as an open challenge to the SmackDown locker room ended with three consecutive victories over The Great Khali. And he has since followed that up with impressive victories over R-Truth & John Morrison. After tasting such high-profile success, a collision with a champion of Mysterio’s caliber was inevitable.

Two weeks prior to Night of Champions, after Mysterio overcame over Jericho on SmackDown, Ziggler suddenly came from nowhere to launch a sneak attack on the triumphant champion. After throwing to the waiting arms of Jericho and Edge, the confident Superstar finished him off with a vicious neckbreaker.

Rey Mysterio has shown his championship heroism time and time again. But as the emerging Dolph Ziggler prepares to compete in his second pay-per-view in a month, can the masked Superstar stop the momentum of the rising Superstar?

Yeah probably for the best. While teaming with Jericho would get him a lot of exposure and would also be good for his push, I much prefer him continuing to go it alone at this stage, and challenging a fan favourite such as Rey for the IC title is a logical next stage in his development. Looking forward to this match.

On a side note, Miz will probably be Jericho's partner, which is also a great decision. Miz needs some sort of direction, while Ziggler has this feud.

I personally think it's funny that people think Miz will be Jericho's partner.

Onto this, should be a fun match. Can't see Dolph winning tho.

Thought Dolph was going to be Jericho's tag partner.

Anyway this should be a good matchup ,no doubt Rey will retain but this should still be a great match.

I am interested in this match because of its implications. While I agree with everyone that Mysterio, Jr., will win this match, I think he'll eventually drop the Intercontinental title to Ziggler at Summerslam. If this happens, then I think Mysterio, Jr., will move up the ladder to feud with Punk over the World Heavyweight Championship and, hopefully, Michael Hayes can work his magic and build an impressive mid-card where there is actually a title to vie for.

I knew Dolph wouldnt be Jericho's partner. And it is best that they did this match instead. This match-up shows Ziggler's huge potential. He's not facing the IC champion, but also, a former world champion. I see Ziggler winning this match so Mysterio can get more main event time.

This has great potential. I'm disappointed that Ziggler hasn't been given the spot with Jericho against Rey and Morrison filled this one. Jericho's history with Rey would've meant a fued over the IC Title with Rey would've been possible following Night Of Champions, and Rey and JoMo could've fueded with them for the Tag Titles. Building up the belts all in one nice package.

I do hope it's Miz that Jericho picks but I'm not holding my breath just cos the pair bum off each other on Twitter.
