I'm actually looking forward to this match, alot. Mickie is my favorite, always has been, and without being biased, i'm pretty damn sure she's taking that title. And some may think this is a typical 'I want that title' feud, but I don't think it is. It's like, Maryse cannot beat Mickie, she's avoiding her at all cost, running from her, being pinned by her, ect. Maryse basically cost Mickie the chance to face her a while back, and Maryse beat Kelly, and that is that, she was nothing more than a filler (thank god). Mickie has basically given the point that Maryse can't beat her, because she never has (unless you count SS but that was not a One vs One match). Maryse keeps backing herself away from Mickie, Maryse fears Mickie because she knows that she can't pin her, that and Mickie has nothing to prove.

Mickie said on commentary how she has already won the Womens Title (though this is the Divas title), Michelle has taken the history, and in a sense this is about revenge too because Maryse sprayed something in Mickies eye a few weeks back. This feud has been interesting to say the least, because Mickie kept giving the chance to have Maryse prove something, and she wouldn't do it herself, so now Mickie is making her because of the Title match.

It's intricate too, and WWE have planned this out perfectly by not dying out the feud by naming Mickie #1 contender so soon, and throwing in a swerve (Kelly). With Maryse on commentary, the backstage promos, ect, this isn't much about the Title, it's Maryse having to prove something. Needless to say, I love it. My hope here is that with this whole 'having to prove something', at the end of the Title match, (if Mickie wins), Mickie will give Maryse her hand and pull her up, as if to say 'Well Done, you put up a fight', and we could see a face-turn from Maryse because lets face, she gets zero reaction as a heel, and with Gail Kim coming on and getting no face-reaction, we should see a heel turn from her. But hey, I have no idea, so lets just see how this match plays out.

Good post, Roxy. It's kind of refreshing to see someone take the women's division as seriously as you did.. I have to agree that they've booked this feud really well so far.. actually took some time with it.

I'm not sure Mickie wins though. She's had the upper hand the entire time.. I can see Maryse cheating her way through it.

I'll agree with the above, the slow build up in recent months between the two has been excellent however for the match itself I'm not going to be setting the bar too high

I agree the match itself doesn't look like a 5 star bout, because it won't be. However, in the first singles match between the two, it was more than obvious they where holding back, alot. Honestly, if they give this match at least 8 minutes, and Maryse wrestles (lets face it, she shows-boats alot), and she wrestles the way she did at Survivor Series, then this match could be pretty damn good. I could also see Maryse retaining, and then Mickie finally getting the title at Summerslam, Maryse is yet to establish herself properly on Raw, and what with it being too predictable that Mickie will win, third times the charm, Maryse has just of big of chance as winning as Mickie.

I can't see Mickie winning the title just yet. Purely because McCool was the first female to win both titles. I think they'll push that accolade for a couple of weeks at least.

Yeah, thinking about it, me either. I reckon Maryse is retaining, and Mickie is gonna put Maryse over and Maryse will finally establish herself properly on Raw.

These two are certainly far more interesting than McCool and Melina, and I'm still peeved that McCool took the Women's Title before Mickie (the actual wrestler, and established talent) got the Diva's belt, but this fued has been built well.

I see Maryse taking the win with underhanded tactics and a possible rematch at Summerslam, or on Raw in the future, for Mickie to take the belt.

They will then, hopefully, have Mickie and Michelle fued and have Mickie bury her.

I don't really mean that, burying any talent (however little they may have) is always bad for business. I just bitter Michelle "I Love Swimming" McCool is the first to have held both belts, as well as the first ever to hold the Diva's Title.

I like Michelle, but this is where I always agree with people who dislike her. Don't get me wrong, i'm a fan of McCools, however i've always felt that she shouldn't ever be the first to hold both titles. It's one thing she took history by being the FIRST to win the belt, and that i didn't really care for, but to hold both over a dedicated worker like Mickie James i don't like one bit. Blame her relationship with Taker, blame Vince, blame booking, i don't care, Michelle should never have been the first.

Mickie James worked her ass off on the circuits for 5 or 6 years, working for something like $30 a show. She refused to take money from her parents when they offered it, and pressured herself into those 'photos' as a last resort. Over 10 years later, she had the chance to have a GOOD piece of history, but no, they decided to let her keep the history she already had; the shortest womens title reign, ever.

I don't understand why they couldn't have held Michelles win off until Night of Champions. It wouldn't have done much damage, and would have established Melina a bit on her brand (seeing as she IS the top face on there). That and both Mickie and Michelle could have won on the same night, WWE could count it as a draw, or they could have even had a winner take all tag match.

Finally, Mickie beats Michelle in the ring by miles, and is far more experienced, sharper, bolder, charismatic, fun to watch and gets a reaction which alot of the time is on par with some of the top face males. Not only that, but not many people will actually care Michelle held both titles, but we all know that if Mickie held both, people would give a damn.

Honestly, I'd love to say that people would care more about Mickie winning both Titles, but I doubt it'd be many more than care about Michelle winning. It's tragic but Women's wrestling, and Diva's especially, are seen as piss-breaks, and very few people outside of the hardcore audience (and even then it's a pretty small percentage) even care about it. Sure more of them would care, but percentages wise it's not exactly a huge one.
