Punk/Hardy should really be no DQ.
So true. After what happened at the Bash it would make so much sense to have it as a NO DQ match.

It could indeed and hopefully it is, because as said, there is nothing to stop Punk taking the easy way out again unless that stip is added. It will still be good otherwise but I think that would make a lot more sense as well as adding to the match, because lets face it, with the way Punk's been acting, the after-match brawl and Punk's allusion to Hardy's drug problems last week, this feud is already very personal.

Re: WWE Night of Champions - Preview and Live Discussion

A No-DQ stipulation, ending with a Punk beatdown on Hardy with a weapon for the win, would lead nicely to a Cage Match at Summerslam. If I am correct, Hardy is contracted until then, and it can be written in that if he loses Hardy goes home. Having him then lose by attempting the Swanton from the top of the cage would be epic win.

I dunno. I liked it a lot up until the Swanton thing. It would work that Hardy's daredevil, high flying offence ended up costing him as it did at Wrestlemania (this time costing him his job) but I would see that finish as a missed opportunity. If Hardy is leaving, I would have Punk actually win by underhanded tactics to have him leave rather than Hardy effectively losing the match through his own stupidity. This would get Punk a lot more heat and obviously it is too big a heat-getting opportunity to miss.

Plus that finish has been done at Survivor Series 2001... but who remembers that right?

Apart from me of course, haha!

I remember it, I just think that makes it all the more fitting... Jeff never learned from his previous mistake. Punk could play the two finishes back to back the following Smackdown, over and over to work the crowd and get heat.

I'd also say beating someone after they fuck up their own finisher and then bragging about it would be a great way of earning some massive heel heat.

It would work no doubt, but I would just prefer Punk to take a more active role in Hardy's downfall.

When Triple H retired Foley (well we thought he was retired at the time), it wouldn't have helped Triple H as much if Foley had just taken a risk and failed. I like the way it was Triple H who countered Foley's piledriver with a backdrop to send Foley crashing through the cell and the mat, and it was Triple H who hit his pedigree to put the final nail in Foley's coffin.

Like I said, your way would work too, but I just want to see Punk himself actively end Hardy's career rather than Hardy effectively ending it himself with a missed swanton.

Oh, I would certainly have Punk hit the GTS before pinning Hardy to "put the final nail in his coffin" as you said. I had thought that earlier, I just never said it cos I've gotten so used to you knowing instinctively what I'm saying. Haha!!

Yeah I thought you might. I was just clearing it up lol.

That would be an awesome finish actually if Hardy kicked out after crashing and burning when attempting a Swanton, keeping his dreams alive with guts and determination, only for Punk to finally extinguish his flame with a GTS.

Punk celebrating like a dick when he's just ended someone's career would be brilliant.
