Yeah. I like how people act like guys like Batista and JBL are slugs in the ring then praise Punk like it's 2004, when two of his better matches in the 'E were against them.

The Batista match was good though so he did get something done with him. That is easily top 5 Punk matches in WWE I'd say, though I need to rewatch it. It's true that there arn't many others but it's only fairly recently he has actually been given time on PPV. His PPV matches with Morrison were under 10mins.
I think he could easily have a very good match with Jeff Hardy, and I'm confident it could be one of his best WWE matches to date. I just have a feeling the two will work very well together.
The match with Batista was alright, nothing special though. Punks best matches in the WWE so far have been with; Rey, Jericho (well more than once too), Edge, Morrison, Matt Hardy (anyone remember this?), and Orton. I'd even rank his match with JBL higher than his one with Batista. As i said, Punk hasn't been given many chances to showcase what he can do. His match against Rey is easily his best match so far, and i'm damn sure there are more great matches from him to come.

Batista and JBL aren't slugs in the ring, not sure if you where referring to my post, but when you compare them with other matches Punk has had, his matches with JBL and Batista don't stand out much. They didn't have the chemistry, but they where still entertaining. I never got into his match with Batista, though it was decent, they didn't seem to mesh much.
On a side note; i was pissed how they teased HBK/Punk a while back, in that backstage segment, but never went through with it. Punk vs Shawn is something that we have to see before Michaels retires, because without a doubt, that match would be fantastic.

I don't think Batista is a slug, JBL is though. That said, I despise Punk's matches with Batista, and the JBL Summerslam match with Punk was very good.
As has been said though, Punks best matches in WWE are with guys around his size or smaller.

In matches against guys considerably bigger than him like JBL & Batista there's not much he can really do. I've noticed Punk's main strength is in his selling ability. That's why his matches with JBL & Batista were a lot better than people expected. Both Big Dave & JBL are prefectly adequate offensive wrestlers. JBL more so.

I do enjoy Punk when he is against bigger guys as I think he is great at being the battling underdog and making his matches look like a struggle. That won't be the same now he's heel of course.
