Traditionally a pretty bad PPV which has featured some genuine wrestecrap over the years. lol @ Taker/Dudleys at 2004 and the Parking lot brawl last year.

Re: WWE Great American Bash (The WWE Years) - History And Discussion
The only Bash I would consider buying is 2006. The first hour was pretty damn impressive for the WWE. Londrick vs The Pitbulls was one of the true rare gems of 2006. It's probably my favorite PPV tag match (Non-gimmick) since Benoit/Angle vs Edge/Mysterio at No Mercy 2002.
For the most part, GAB has had a lot of bad luck. Being brought back by the WWE for SD in 2004 was a death sentence. Smackdown was horrible at the time and there was little they could do to make the show good. Even though Raw had an off month in July 2004, had GAB been given to Raw, they would of been able to produce some good PPV's.
By time SD finally got their shit together, they could only put on one good GAB. The reason why I love GAB 2006 so much is because it should of been a disaster. No less than 4 matches were forced to be altered at the last minute due to injuries or health scares. Once it became a PPV for all brands, there was no reason to make it special with Summerslam the following month. Looking back at the last two years, there was a lot of filler.
If there's one thing I could change about the Bash, it would of been to have War Games at every one.

Not exactly a great history for the PPV though every show has one or two matches worth checking out. Rey/Chavo is also the best cruiserweight match in WWE history so yeah.

Re: WWE Great American Bash (The WWE Years) - History And Discussion
I haven't enjoyed a single Great American Bash and I doubt the name change will make a difference for me. There's always been at least one decent match on the card but when that match is mired in a sea of craptastic bollocks it's hard to enjoy it much.

Re: WWE Great American Bash (The WWE Years) - History And Discussion
Probably the best Bash match since WWE resurrected the name would have to be Cena vs. Lashly. Which is surprising to say the least. Lashley had all the potential in the world, but potential doesn't mean a thing.
Batista vs. C.M. Punk was surprisingly good last year. By good I mean nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be. HBK & Jericho put on my favorite match of their feud at the event last year.
I enjoyed the main event, MVP/Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy/Umaga from 2007. But overall this PPV has producted some rubbish over the past 5 years.
So far, on paper, this looks like it'll be a good show.
