“evolution (noun): a gradual, peaceful process of change or development”
While all four former members of the group Evolution have certainly changed and developed, little about their recent activities could be classified as either gradual or peaceful.
In the latest chapter of Evolution, WWE Champion Randy Orton will square off against The Animal, Batista, in a Steel Cage Match at Extreme Rules for the WWE Title.
Since becoming the youngest World Champion in WWE history, Orton has reveled, not only in his championship successes, but also in destroying the three Evolution members who had helped him attain such heights before they turned away from the brash Superstar: Ric Flair, Triple H and Batista.
Having outlasted the career of Flair and, more recently, orchestrating the demolition of Triple H and the McMahon family, the only member remaining in Orton’s crosshairs is Batista. While The Animal defeated Orton at Judgment Day after the WWE Champ got disqualified, Orton still retained the title.
Having come so close to Orton’s gold, The Animal isn’t about to go quietly. After all, it was a punt from the dreaded boot of The Legend Killer that sidelined Batista five months ago. With months of arduous rehabilitation behind him, Batista returned, determined to exact revenge on the man who derailed him.
While Orton has enjoyed a spate of victories recently, without the help of his Legacy henchmen Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, inside the confines of the Steel Cage, will he be able to contain The Animal and retain his gold?
For his part, can Batista overcome the underhanded tactics employed so readily by The Legend Killer in order to quench his thirst for retribution?
Don’t miss all the action live on pay-per-view on Sunday, June 7 at 8PM ET / 5PM PT.

Re: WWE Extreme Rules - Randy Orton (c) vs Batista - Cage Match
Why is this fued not over. It's totally yawn. Orton should've beaten Batista at Judgment Day and then had Batista go into a fued with... Hornswoggle, or whatever. Have Orton face MVP or some other rising mid-carder. It'd be a hell of a lot better than this.
I understand why Batista would chase Orton following a loss, and I get that with Big Show and Cena still fueding (which I'm fine with, although it's less than impressive in my opinion) neither man has many options of others to fued with, but after JD I don't think I could take another episode of Orton running away and being a pussy.

That, but also the fact that I hate cage matches so much nowadays. This will be so slow and boring. Also, the feud is already dull as hell and I'm just waiting for somebody fresh to get a title shot. The sooner Batista is out of the picture the better.
Ken's right that he shouldn't be starting a new feud at Extreme Rules, but that doesn't mean I have to like this match. Can't wait for Batista to gtfo of the title picture for a while.
