WWE Champion Randy Orton has made a career out of accomplishing the unthinkable.

At just 24 years of age, The Legend Killer became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history. He’s held the coveted WWE Championship a total of three times. And, most notably, he has single-handedly brought the McMahon family to their knees – a conquest culminated by a kick to the skull of Triple H at Backlash.

The time to celebrate his latest unsavory success, however, may have already passed. Now, it appears, another seemingly insurmountable challenge presents itself: Retain the WWE Championship at Judgment Day against a fuming Batista bent on revenge.

It’s not an easy proposition. After all, The Animal has been starved for competition for months while rehabbing from a blow to the head, an injury caused by a kick from Orton. There’s little doubt that Batista would love nothing more than to punish the man who put him on the shelf. And if his performance of late is any indication, The Animal appears more than ready to administer retribution.

If any opponent can slither out of the ring with a victory, though, it’s most definitely the current incarnation of Orton. The past seven years have wizened the once self-destructive rebel. While he remains as unpredictable as he was while in Evolution with Batista, his attacks appear more calculated, more focused – there now appears to be a method to his madness. His cultivation of his Legacy cohorts Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase only serves to bolster the argument that Orton is willing to wait for just the right moment to strike, and he isn’t afraid to enlist help to further his cause.

The WWE Champion has been relishing his recent conquests in the lead up to Judgment Day, and would likely savor the opportunity to add Batista to his list of already impressive accomplishments. For his part, the challenger – a multiple-time former World Heavyweight Champion – would like nothing more than a chance to end Orton’s tyrannical reign and, in the process, lay claim to a title he’s never held.

Hopefully this matchup will be better than their previous encounter at Armageddon

i think it's safe to say orton's going to win imo but never the less gonna be an epic match,maybe orton punts him after the match? then shane goes in to wwe championship picture or is that too strong?

Orton should definitely win. Orton needs a pretty decent reign here, and going over Batista cleanly would be a great way to start. Somehow, I think Triple H will return here and end up getting Batista DQ'd as he'll go after Orton. Batista gets pissed and it leads into Trips/Batista. Then, Orton will do his own thing, maybe even have an actual feud with MVP.

This should be the beginning of a long dominant reign by Orton, culminating in an eventual match up against Cena.

Orton should go over Batista, maybe after interference from HHH (hopefully not, I want a long vacation from him).

I hope Orton goes over as I'm sure he will. I'm not really a fan of Orton but sure beats Batista as champion. I really dislike Batista. Yeah, hopefully this is better than their match at Armageddon which was pretty decent. I hope there isn't a DQ, I really don't like DQ finishes or anything like that. I like just pinfall or submission finishes or time limit draws. Triple H will probably play some part in the match, sadly. Hoping he would just go away for awhile...

I find it amusing that both Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon sold the Punt for less time than Batista. I know that when it happened they went on about how Batista opted to have his surgery then, but since he's been back they've not mentioned his surgery at all and kept up the pretense that he was out for 3-4 months with a concussion, yet Vince, Shane and CM Punk all came back in under a month (or there abouts) and Triple H will likely do the same. Poor Batista.

Yeah I was actually expecting HHH on Raw the day after he got punted so he could Pedigree everybody in Legacy and regain the WWE title. Very surprised he didn't show up. Oh well, at least theres next week.

Not 100% sure but i think HHH is taking some time off. So i wouldn't be surprised if he didn't show up at Judgment day or any time on Raw leading up to Judgment day.
