While I agree with you completely about the predictability of title matches overall, I do believe that this makes sense considering the way Batista was put out of action with the punt a few months back. Hopefully they are just tying up the loose ends with this feud and then they will start to use some fresh challengers and stir up the title picture with guys like MVP. They have already planted seeds for an MVP title shot somewhere down the line, and it would make total sense for them to do so.
Who hasn't been put out of action by Orton? To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. It was the basis for the Shawn Michaels, John Cena, CM Punk (Before he diverted his attention towards Priceless), Shane McMahon and eventually the return Triple H feud. Just because there's a highly repetitive reason for the match, doesn't mean they should go forward with it.

I think logic dictates that a face will chase down a heel, if they put them out of action. It's only right. Should it be done in a PPV main event? That's debatable... Especially when it's as predictable as this one.

I'd say if it isn't put over as a big match then the face looks like a pussy. Just look at Punk when he suffered the same fate last year.
As I said, I have no problems with this as a VERY brief feud provided we see a fresh challenger very soon. This will probably go on to Extreme Rules though, which kinda sucks...
