At Backlash, Chris Jericho will attempt to extinguish the fire of a legendary Dragon when he faces his former hero, WWE Hall of Famer Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat.
The match came to fruition as Jericho was using his farewell from Raw – following his draft to SmackDown - to belittle the WWE Universe once more for not appreciating him. Steamboat interrupted, choosing to thank his recent WrestleMania opponent for reawakening his passion for the squared-circle. When Jericho challenged the Hall of Famer to a match at Backlash, Steamboat was more than happy to accept.
The bad blood has been building to a boil between Jericho and Steamboat since the first-ever Undisputed WWE Champion started speaking very disrespectfully toward Superstar Legends of the past. Despite the fact that Steamboat had once been an idol of Jericho’s, the arrogant Superstar systematically attacked Steamboat and fellow Hall of Famers “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka and Ric Flair. When the conflict escalated, Jericho challenged the legendary Dragon, Piper, and Snuka to a 3-on-1 Handicap Match at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, with The “Nature Boy” Ric Flair himself in their corner. Although Steamboat gave Jericho the fight of his life – outlasting both Piper and Snuka - in the end he fell short of the victory.
Will Jericho put Steamboat "out of his misery"? Or can The Dragon once again summon the mighty fires of triumph that have served him so well throughout his illustrious career. Find out as Backlash comes to you from Providence, R.I., live on pay-per-view.

Re: WWE Backlash - Chris Jericho vs Ricky Steamboat
I doubt MOTN because I'm expecting Hardy vs Hardy and Cena vs Edge to be of a high standard, but this could be pretty good. It's the match everybody wanted to see after Steamboat's performance at Mania. Good to see they delivered and hopefully Steamboat can roll back the years once again.

After their little back & forth at Mania (which pretty much saved that match from being a disaster) this should be a great match to see. Can't wait for it.

Explain how this could be the MOTN?
Steamboat was in the ring at Wrestlemania for a few minutes, and the same during the six or eight man tag match. This is just going to be another boring legend vs. current wrestler.

Because during the time he was in the ring at Mania and the next night on Raw, the action didn't look like a 'boring legend vs. current wrestler' match to me. He looked great. Plus, he's going to be in there with Jericho, who could have a good match with a sawhorse.

The fact that you referenced Ricky The Dragon Steamboat as a boring legend makes your point completely invalid.
