Miles away from their backyard training grounds in Cameron, N.C., Jeff and Matt Hardy take up arms – brother against brother – one more time at Backlash. This time, however, victory is not the sole objective as the Hardy siblings will aim to force a humiliating two-word utterance from one another: “I quit.”
If unlocking one’s destiny means endangering your own brother’s life repeatedly, even setting ablaze his home with his dog locked inside, then the key symbol on Matt Hardy’s new ring attire is an accurate metaphor. And it makes Backlash’s “I Quit” Match cruelly appropriate.
As Matt described in WWE.com’s “Dueling Diaries” exclusive which trailed both Hardys on the final days of their Road to WrestleMania XXV, he feels he is “the superior Hardy.” Motivated by a lethal combination of jealousy and wrath, Matt will do everything within his power to prove it and erase Jeff from memory.
Thus far, neither an Extreme Rules nor Stretcher Match has been enough to quell the vengeful emotions that have befallen the brothers Hardy. Without regard for rules or referees, Matt and Jeff continue to trade guerrilla-like attacks across all brands, including WGN’s newly launched WWE Superstars program. Perhaps this was the impetus behind the WWE Executive Board inking this dangerous confrontation where there are no pinfalls, no count-outs and no disqualifications.
The “I Quit” Match is an encounter in which only the most extreme enemies duel, vowing to torture each other to the point of not just submission but verbal surrender. It is a humbling, embarrassing defeat for whoever speaks this phrase, losing the bout as well as dignity.
Known for settling scores and determining champions, this contest was truly made (in)famous by WWE Hall of Famers Bret “Hit Man” Hart and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13 – a moment where blood was porously drawn from Austin at the merciless hands of The Excellence of Execution.
But this instance is different. These are two brothers – born and raised by the same father – who only share one last commonality: The desire to vanquish the other.
Until now, Matt’s ill intentions have been endured by the persistent spirit of The Charismatic Enigma, who tried his best to resist walking this path with his sibling. Will the fortitude of the face-painted warrior be enough to earn Jeff a victory against his brother? Or will the elder Hardy, Matt, secure his third and perhaps most emphatic triumph over Jeff?
To what lengths will either Hardy go – or soar, knowing Jeff – to exact the ultimate fraternal conquest? Find out as Backlash comes to you from Providence, R.I., live on pay-per-view.

Really looking foward to this one because i really don't know who is going to win maybe Jeff as he has lost twice once and Wrestlemaina and once on SmackDown but who ever wins this it's going to be the best match of the night imo.

Re: WWE Backlash - Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy - I Quit Match
Now I can safely say this WILL be the best match at Backlash. I Quit is seriously so fitting for this feud.
This NEEDS 20 minutes... due to the stipulation and due to who's involved. As long as it gets time, MOTN. Easily.

Yes, I have a GIF of two women kissing.
Yes, it's hot. Yes it's Megan Fox kissing another woman from Jennifer's Body. Yes, it's hot... owait, I already said that. Yes, I'm aware this makes me sound like a total lesbian. But this scene? UNF.
Re: WWE Backlash - Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy - I Quit Match
How is I quit fitting, where in this feud did anything remote to someone not giving up come into play? Thus far we have had a burnt dog, grow op trailer burn, several attempts at homicide, and a jealous brother. Sorry, I just dont see an I quit match fitting. The extreme rules fit, a street fight or ladder match would fit, a TLC would fit, hell even an inferno match would fit, but I Quit...yeah.
Anyhow, the build up has had too much space between the time Matt revealed himself to the point of the first match which was a let down. You'd think WWE would just end this now with a match that has a ladder in play, especially seeing as how the two are on different brands.

They're blurring the lines between the brands from now on, so we're going to see alot of wrestlers on different brands like before. And yes, a street fight or ladder match would be much better. A ladder would only work for a No.1 contendership contract though. But a street fight is perfect. They don't even have to start in the ring. Jeff jumps Matt(or vice versa) in the back and they brawl slowly to the ring, using weapons and objects on the way. I would so love to see that. But, an I Quit match still may be good. I'll wait for the match to happen to make my final decision.

How is it not fitting? Matt wants Jeff GONE from the WWE. He hates Jeff and wants him to quit... so it's perfect. He's going to do wtfever he can do to make Jeff say the words I QUIT. Besides, haven't they always been gimmicked as the types of guys that have so much pride and never quit no matter what obstactles are in their way...

Re: WWE Backlash - Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy - I Quit Match
Matt wants to eliminate Jeff from the WWE. Hence the hit and run, the burining of Jeffs house and his dog, the fireworks and so on. Matt wasnt looking for Jeff to quit, he was looking to cripple Jeff or kill him. Saying, "I quit" is useless. They've been gimmicked as two brothers who achieved their dream together, then Matt became jealous of his brother being a failure and still being liked more. Shouldnt you know this stuff, I thought you were the biggest Hardy mark alive.

Matt wants Jeff GONE from the WWE. Matt wants Jeff to QUIT from the WWE, not necessarily kill. That is why he has done burned his house down... that's why he did the hit and run.. that's why he did the attack from his hotel stairway.. that's why he's saying he's no longer his brother... that's why he's repeatedly said without him, Jeff will fall back to his drugs and be seen as a failure. He is trying to get in Jeff's fucked up mind of his to get him to his boiling point and get him to quit the WWE.
That's why I Quit is perfect, because that's been the whole point of the feud To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater.
