After surviving the Elimination Chase to Backlash by avoiding being pinned in a Fatal Four Way Match, a Triple Threat Match, and a finals contest between himself and Finlay, Christian has earned the honor of being No. 1 contender to Jack Swagger's ECW Title and will face off against him for the coveted prize at the pay-per-view.

In her first bold move as interim General Manager of ECW, Tiffany announced that ECW Champion Jack Swagger will defend his title at Backlash. But "The All-American American” didn't have a definite opponent just yet.

Tiffany announced that Swagger’s competitor on April 26 will be determined by the Elimination Chase to Backlash. Four Superstars – Finlay, Christian, Tommy Dreamer and Mark Henry – began their Chase on ECW on Sci Fi in a Fatal Four Way Match. Thanks to his trusty shillelagh, Finlay defeated Henry, eliminating him first from the competition.

On the next ECW, the three remaining Superstars – Finlay, Christian and Tommy Dreamer – squared off in a Triple Threat Match. Once again with Hornswoggle in his corner, Finlay was victorious, this time pinning Tommy Dreamer, eliminating him from the competition.

A final match between the two remaining Superstars to determine the last man standing took place on the premiere episode of WWE Superstars on WGN America. Despite Finlay's impressive performances, registering both pins in the previous two matches, the Irishman's luck ran out and Christian captured the title opportunity.

Christian was defeated by Swagger in "The All-American American's" last ECW Championship defense, but Christian has defeated him in singles action. With his Peeps standing behind him, will Captain Charisma have the chance to win the ECW Championship?

I don't see it being as good as their last match due to time constraints, but it certainly should be good. Best option they could have chosen as far as match quality goes. Their last encounter was surprisingly great and made me like Swagger more.

See Christian beeting Swagger and becoming champ because imo he's the best on ECW roster and WWE are really wasteing his talent being on shitty ECW he shud really be on Smackdown or Raw.

We had Matt Hardy ECW champ and Jeff Hardy WWE champ (though short lived) and nobody gave a damn.

Back on subject, I can see this becoming a long rivalry, maybe lasting 3 or 4 monthes. I also see Swagger winning only to lose at NOC. Just my opinion.

Swagger's gotta move on. Christian's gotta move on. Let Christian have the belt. Let Swagger feud with Koslov. Let Christian feud with Hurricane Helms.

I see Jack Swagger losing the belt to Christian here. Since I can't really see any other matches being added that makes sense, this should be 15+ for sure.
