i am very dissappointed, this spoilt the night for me. Not only was it an average match, but once again HHH refused to put Orton over clean. I am tired of HHH's ego preventing Orton from being the number 1 superstar in WWE, because everyone knows he is better than HHH.

A MASSIVE let down considering the hype and expectation. With a dissapointing result. How this match got the main event spot instead of Undertaker/HBK is baffling. There encounters at Unforgiven 2004 and there steel cage match at Judgment Day 2008 were much better than this.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure after this Trips needs to hurry up and retire already.

This match would have been redeemed only by Triple H doing the job... He didn't. This sucked balls.

Re: Wrestlemania 25: Triple H vs Randy Orton - WWE Title

As the biggest, and maybe ONLY, HHH fan here I'll throw out two things:

1) I don't think Orton needed to win this. Triple H needed his revenge for everything Orton has done. Maybe Orton should have been the champion going in. Either way I think this match suffered far more from placement than anything else. Undertaker/HBK should have been the Main Event and I think everyone in the 'E knows it. Nothing short of making it the most violent, bloody match in Wrestlemania history would have gotten people to react the way Taker/HBK did. Simple fact. Poor placement killed this match more than anything. Same with the Triple Threat.

2) Orton kinda sucks in the ring. He does the appendage stomp. Several headlocks. And then an RKO. I'd compare Orton to a football offense. He's great inbetween the 20's (translation: promos, altercations, general heel behavior) but in the Red Zone, he stalls out (translation: actually getting in the ring) and gets field goals instead of touchdowns.

If you could merge Orton's intangables and overall heel gimmick with Edge's in-ring skills, you'd have the ultimate wrestling heel.

Re: Wrestlemania 25: Triple H vs Randy Orton - WWE Title

Orton needed it because everytime his career is nearing a peak it gets pushed down several steps, most of the time because of Trips. Trips didn't need to win at all. How did he benefit from it? He'd still be at the same position, just without a belt around his waist. Trips is always going to be pushed as the top guy, one loss wouldn't have hurt him at all.

The placement was bad but the fans still were loud for the triple threat and Austin. But I suppose it's hard to be loud for a match which works at 2 mph and is full of rest holds and almost zero heel-in-control segments. They had no reason to care in the slightest and I blame Triple H for not understanding that the face needs to be actually in jeopardy for people to care.

Orton wasn't that impressive himself, but he looked better than Triple H a country mile, simply through actually being intense and selling well. I'd imagine if he was facing someone better, like Cena, he'd put out a better performance.

And lol@Edge having in-ring skills.

Re: Wrestlemania 25: Triple H vs Randy Orton - WWE Title

Steve has basically said everything I wanted to after reading what you said Catalyst, except that Ortons win, while not damaging HHH in any way, would've sky rocketed the guy into the atmosphere with heel heat. Watch Raw and listen to the face response Orton is now getting. Everyone and their Grandmother knows that Orton got screwed out of that title win, and now Orton is getting a face response. Think about that for a second. He punted a sixty year old man, he punted a non-regular worker, he RKO'd and DDT'd a woman, and he is getting a face response. Every word that comes out of Ortons mouth is dripping with heelishness, but he is getting a face response. Why? Because Triple H won at Wrestlemania 25. Sure, Randy got a few cheers before 'Mania, but this weeks Raw was the most noticable they've been.

Orton may not be the world's greatest wrestler, but he is head and shoulders above Triple H in every aspect of the game (no pun intended).
