The last person to hold onto the championship was Horny ( Hornswoggle), but I was informed by one, Lord Steventon, that many of the highflying moves are not banned within WWE. In a thread a made a few days back( To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. ) there was mention of a possible CW title return. On one side we have the fact that WWE has so many title divisions that are lacking right now, it wouldnt make sense to bring in another belt. However, on the other hand we have a failing X division, a division that made TNA popular, and a ton of wrestlers who would fit the CW limits that are doing nothing. The return of the CW title could mean a revival in the careers of so many wrestler who are looking at either jobbing or looking for another job.
If It was to return I would put it on ECW tbh, because I cant see a place for it elsewhere, they got rid of it because it was a waste of time in the first place, so I doubt they would bring it back anytime soon.

And when there is no hope,
"I'll smoke some crack, I'll shoot some dope!"
When theres no enemies,
"I sit and stare at my T.V.
and in my ignorance,
I'll be a slave and sycophant!"
To me it only because a waste of time when WWE felt the need to remove the talented wrestlers from the division, most who have gone on to do nothing or find work else where. It could be used as a stepping stone really. For example, right now we have Shelton as a heel US Champion with no signs of turning face or losing the championship to anyone. We also have Brian Kendrick who started to get a push, but has kind of fallen back to meaningless matches. The CW division could produce great feuds with the likes of Helms, Yang, Scotty Goldman, or Haas. It would establish Kendrick as being the top man in the division and Ezekiel Jackson as being his backup, giving Kendrick key wins in title matches. Then of course once Shelton finally loses the US belt Kendrick could shoot for it with a lot more credibility than he will have from these horrible random feuds he's been in. Not to mention people like Chavo would finally have something to do.
I think WWE have a ton of people who could work a great match in a Cruiserweight manner (although I wouldn't include Scotty Goldman in there NeX, surely he weighs too much, tub that he is?) but if they bring back the CW Title they need to have a rethink about how they treat their titles to be honest.
Firstly the WWE and World Heavyweight Titles need to be made into one belt, defended on all brands, and that goes for the WWE and World Tag Team Titles and the Women's and Diva's Titles as well. The US/IC/ECW Titles can then be used as brand specific mid card titles. Then the Cruiserweight Title can be contested on all three brands and to give it some real prestige have Rey Mysterio be the "first" champion, and hold it for a good six months or so. He could drop it to Evan Bourne (who was more over than God before his injury stalled him) who could then reign supreme for close to a year, while WWE built up the division's credibility with pushes for The Brian Knedrick, Jamie Noble, Low-Ki, Jimmy Wang Yang, and maybe even Santino. They also need to understand the importance of not using these smaller (and yet fantastically talented guys) as jobber fodder for their monsters and instead use the ageing mid-carders who aren't going anywhere now other than down.
I'd love to see them pull it off, but I don't think WWE has the patience to do it with fucking it up royally.
Right now? Fuck no. The wwe already has, what, 9 titles? And half of them are worthless as it stands, one more useless pile of shit title won't do anything. There is a seemingly infinate talent pool of good cruiserwights in America, and indeed the world, but unless they are actually going to be given time, the fans won't care. Look at the last year of so of the cruiserwieght title's existence. They have it, like, one match a month and the crowd didn't give a shit.
So yeah, if they actually spend time in investing in it and the talent, it'd easily become more valuable than the shitty tag divisions, the *yawn* womens divisions and probbaly both mid-card titles too. But, bottom line is, they won't. Why? Because they don't sign anyone under 6"2'. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. WWE and their crazy size fetishes...

I'd say only bring it back if they discard both the Divas title and the WWE tag titles Then put it on smackdown while the World tag champs and women's champ cross over on brands

I'm with Ken on this one. He always says the Cruiserweight title put a label on guys and made it hard for them to ever amount to something more than that. Even when Helms lost the title he didn't seem to be pushed much beyond that in the few months before his injury, and I doubt he will ever achieve anything that big. People are forever seen as 'just Cruiserweights' not worthy of winning further gold.
Also, as Steve said, WWE have so many titles and they don't know how to book any of them. The IC and US titles look like shit because they are not given any time, and are never defended on PPV due to tri-branded PPVs. Adding more titles would be the worst thing they could do at this stage. Maybe learn to book the ones you have first.
With every title added, all the others become slightly less meaningful.

The WWE has 9 titles and they can barely manage them. Bringing back the Cruiserweight title would be pointless as it would be underused and pushed aside after like a month of being back.
