Today was seriously the first day I saw anything dealing with Swagger. I've heard mad rumors that he was good, and wrestling wise.. I'd say he's average, but the guy oozes charisma. That smile, and his attitude is exactly what ECW needed.
He's good in the ring, good on the mic, has a lot of charisma, has a marketable size in general, is young, and is fairly quick along with getting a lot of heat. He has all the tools to succeed.

Swagger is a brilliant new guy. He just shouldn't be ECW Champion already.
I know, they have wasted a potentially decent feud between him and hardy...WWE couldnt keep their cocks in their pants till Royal Rumble or No way out?
Seriously, I am a swagger supporter but I just believe that he shouldn't be pushed to the top so quickly, imo, I think he will be drafted to raw or smackdown and then WWE should push him, if he proves himself, I mean, its still a little early for the guy to be giving him titles.

Swagger is a brilliant new guy. He just shouldn't be ECW Champion already.
Most of the time, I'd disagree with them putting titles on new guys, but they built Swagger up pretty quick in a short time. Plus, it shows the E has confidence in him which is a good thing if you like Swagger. Hell, it took Punk a year to get the ECW title..

My point is that the ECW Title is carrying the show, so it should be treated as a World Title, but right now with Swagger as Champion it looks IC/US level (which it always has since RVD dropped it). A long run from Hardy would've solidified the title as something worth getting and moved it up in people estimations. Plus it would've meant Swagger was more familiar to people and when he and Hardy finally met, in a Pay-Per-View match, it would've been epic when he won. Now he's just another ECW Champion who'll fend of the first challenger and then drop the belt to Tommy Dreamer or Evan Bourne. It's a bullshit move, with zero thought put into it.
I, for one, have been a fan of this future-phenomen known as Jake Hager from the beginning from his debut on ECW. However... I must admit... when I first discovered Hager, it was because I saw some pictures of him and I was all 'Ooooh, he's cute'. So with that in mind, I wanted to see if he was good in the ring and whatnot. I have FCW here due to living in the area and saw a championship match against Sheamus (I'm fairly sure this was when Sheamus was face) and I was like DAMN! He oozed all kinds of charisma and what I saw of his wrestling was fairly good to me.
So when he got called up to ECW, it was neato. While the IWC tends to overrate new wrestlers that come up... however, Swagger deserves the praise he gets because he's just that good.
While it was quick for him to win the ECW gold - he was the only other credible guy on the roster that was a heel that could've taken Matt Hardy's gold... Matt needed to lose it for the SL involvement he's bound to have in the upcoming months since he'll be more of a SD guy sooner or later.
Aaaanyway, in basic terms, Swagger has all the tools he needs to succeed in his business and he can only improve. He's already decent in mic skills, how he wrestles in the ring, etc... there isn't something this guy is lacking in, if you ask me.
The guy's ring work is good so far though he is still as generic as can be.
I think he would have benefitted more from losing to Hardy and putting up a good fight than winning the title so early, though he won it in convincing fashio, which is was a surprise.
Time will tell where he goes, but for the moment I am indifferent to him.

I can see him getting the push like Lance Cade was supposed to get. However, much like Cade, Swagger just seems to generic for me to say he will be a future main eventer. Though as long as he doesnt do anything stupid, I think he will have a secure job.
I'm glad WWE is giving Swagger the ball, lets see what he can do when he is running with it. I'm a Swagger fan, i don't think his title run will be long, but is glad he has the title.
