General Feeling on TNA

There were a few weeks there where I didn't catch TNA so much but now I'm kinda back in the mix.. Just wondering if anyone is watching, paying attention..

What do you like? Dislike? What would you like to see. I think we all agree that'd it'd be good for them to become real competition for WWE, so lets talk. We don't have many TNA threads.

I love TNA when I get to see it.

But not so much now.

The things they have to do to get the crowd figures, bringing in Sting, Steiner, Luger, whoever are things that totally disinterest me. They're moving further and further away from what I hoped they could become. Regretably, what I hoped they would become does not get the figures required for TV audiences by the looks of it.

They are (imo) stagnating though. The X-Division has had an awesome few years, but now they've desensitised the audience. Wrestlers do the most crazy things and then kick out on 2, wrestlers almost kill themselves and the crowd don't care anymore. They're just....meh, you did that a couple of months back. They need to take the show on the road a bit for Impact because Florida (whilst it has been great) is starting to grow old to what they do.

Also no company.....NO COMPANY.....will ever succeed whilst Jeff Jarrett is it's central main event storyline figure.

^ What he said ^

They got close, very close. But now I can't watch it. Their TV has gone stale. One squash, one outside vignette, one match, backstage segment, main event, run-in diatribe. Jarrett seems to be taking all he learnt not to do in the dying days of WCW and re-cycling it. If WWE wanted too they could close TNA tommorow. They could just buy out the X-Division. That would'nt have been true 6 months ago but now the X-division is being ignored the wrestlers in it might prefer to be ignored on WWE wages!

I had a sig, once.

Ok.. so that's two for "TNA Sucks" haha..

Seriously though, I can't believe they would even consider bringing in someone like Lex Luger. The guy was always terrible and was only over because he was around at a time where there weren't many body builder types in wrestling. Nowm guys like Luger are a dime a dozen. Hell, I've seen more potential in Chris Masters then anything Luger ever did. [/rant]

Alright, so when I look at TNA this is what I see..

Sting - good performer in his day, dead gimmick, little interest now that he's been back for a while.

Jarrett - Good mid-card wrestler in WWE. That's right I said "Mid-card!!"

Steiner - Still funny as hell on the mic but God awful in the ring. I'm not sure how I'd use him.

Samoa Joe - Great in-ring performer but a hard sell to the mainstream.. He'd be a Malenko or Benoit type in WWE, which is good, but not ideal for him I'm sure.. He'll win the title in TNA before the end of the year but I really don't see how that would help the company.

AJ Styles - cool look, awesome performer, young, athletic.. He really has it all. He'd be a little small in WWE but in TNA he's fine. Company should be building storylines around him but instead he's Sting's bitch.

Christopher Daniels - See Styles, except for the Sting part.

Abyss - He's Kane.

Christian - I love the guy but I feel that he's utilized best as a sneaky heel and I'm not exactly sold on him as the face of the company... He's good, but "The Man".. I don't know.

America's Most Wanted - Storm and Harris are both talented and work really well together.. I think they could be very successful in WWE as a new age cowboy type of tag team.. TNA has done well with them not letting them lose many matches..

The Dudley's - still a good team, but are what they are.. They don't draw people in, they are just there to entertain once everyone is watching.

Everyone else on the roster is pretty young, they have in-ring ability, but nothing sets them apart form eachother. They are all interchangable. That's why mic time, character development, and storylines are important for mainstream success. Something that most of these 'net writers can't seem to comprehend.

I don't really get the chance to catch it all that often, but what i do see, I always enjoy. Except for Jarrett. He makes HHH look a guy who never held a title. He drops the belt to Christian, and is STILL the centre of the show. He can't talk, he can't wrestle. He's all round bleurgh for me!

I like it except for a few things:

-Jeff Jarrett = Triple H of TNA

-Bringing in Scott Steiner, Luger, Bagwell and Sting and thereby getting rid of the younger up and comers.

-Don West - he's sooooo irritating when he speaks

-Samoa Joe as X- Division Champ - I'm sorry but the man weighs 300 lbs and is NOT a cruiserweight. He can't even get up the cables for Ultimate X w/out them having to bereinforced 3 or 4 times over.

:gdevil:Everyone goes a little nuts sometimes !!!:gdevil:

Necro was right about the 2 hour show.

Hell even Nitro was fantastic, NOT because of the main eventers, but because you got the 1st two hours with the awesome wrestling.
