I really enjoyed this week of Smackdown. The whole new group of wrestlers who have emerged are entertaining me more and more every week.
You've got the faces, such as Jesse, Festus, R-Truth, The Colons, and Jeff, and the heels in Koslov, Dykstra, Braddock, Benjamin, and the Edgeheads. Do you guys like thisnew crew on SD? Or do you miss Umaga and Kennedy since their injuries and rather have them back then these new faces.
R-Truth's promo with Funaki was awesome. He's really an intriguing character, and has huge potential. Carlito has really come into his own in his new persona. Koslov is just awesome. The guy doesn't stay down and always walks out on top.
Then you got your main eventers in HHH, Taker, Edge, Hardy, MVP, and Show who carry the show. To me, this week's SD was the ideal episode of what it should be. Once they get some more talent and maybe fix up Kennedy and Umaga so they can reach their full potential, SD may be the new "A" brand.
I definitely think Smackdown is currently the leading brand for WWE, in terms of weekly quality anyway. - I'm actually loving how they're pushing Kozlov at the moment, he's coming across as a real contender which doesn't usually happen with the 'newer' guys on the scene. I didn't like R-Truth for the first couple of weeks because I've never been a Killings fan, but he's slowly grown on me and I'm hoping that they build up his feud with Benjamin the right way; not jumping into either him winning the title or Benjamin retaining and then it being dropped.
The only thing I dislike about Smackdown right now, is Triple H and Jeff Hardy's constant main event presence. - I'm a fan of both, especially the later but it's becoming quite stale in my eyes. - Especially considering the same guy normally wins. Other than that, I think Smackdown's at the strongest point it's been at in years.
Yeah. Triple H just doesn't do it for me anymore. He tries to be too funny, then the next moment he tries to be too serious. His obnoxious and then veangeful acting just throws you off. Hardy/HHH has grown stale storyline wise, and I think its time HHH takes a breather and readjust himself while they let Jeff, Koslov, Edge, and Show feud for the belt.
Why cant people spell his name right. I know its Russian, but its not a hard Russian name. Spell it with me now, K O Z L O V!
And yeah Smackdown is going to be better than in previous weeks because they just changed channels. As Jim Ross has already stated in his blog, everyone is stepping up their game to get through this television shift. Hopefully WWE will continue down this path, but old habits die hard.
Smackdown is pretty good but IMO there pushing there guys the wrong they. There keeping the spotlight on HHH and Edge, Now i like both these guys and edge is oen of my all time favourite wrestlers but edge and HHH need a break from the main Event. We need fueds with guys like Kennedy, umaga, Jeff Hardy etc. Guys who gets big follows yet have never seen main event spot light to its potential. IMO Jeff is WWE's Biggest factor and he definately gets the biggest following so as much as i dont like to admit it he should be the WWE Champion and fueding with either edge or Kennedy. jeff botches, fucks up stuff whatever but he gets the fans to feel the seats and buy the PPVs so IMO he should eb champ.
Other then that i agree smackdown is a very solid show. Fueds are nto gettign to repetitive and im starting to enjoy watching it every week.
I still find Smackdown pretty boring and would rather watch Raw.
Edge's absence has only helped because he was constantly in the main event and his departure broke up the stale Taker/Edge/Triple H triangle. Edge being back will make me a hell of a lot more interested than I am now no matter what they do with him. I don't see how his absence is a good thing when you have Triple H being epic stale and boring and holding the title for ages. Surely the main event could only be improved with Edge around now, and if he wasn't main eventing he would be involved in some sort of interesting feud away from the title, which I would enjoy seeing.
I like R-Truth and Benjamin. Most of the younger guys on Smackdown are people I don't really care for though. I am not a fan of Dykstra, and Kozlov bores me.
I think Smackdown will be a lot better when the wrestlers I care about return. Edge, Kennedy and Umaga.

I love Smackdown at the moment. It's very entertaining and I won't say non stop excitement but it's non-stop entertaining for me. I miss Kennedy most, as I feel Umaga being back may get sort of dull quick and Edge may push some heels farther down the ladder, but all in all I really am enjoying it right now and all the talent that's being showcased.

Well Edge could well be face. We can't rule that out. I would agree that it is more likely that he returns as a heel, but a face turn is certainly not out of the question. There are not really any heels to push down the ladder anyway. What heels are main eventers? Kozlov? MVP isn't even getting pushed in Edge's absence, so I don't see how he would be effected by Edge's return. If they were keen on MVP as a main eventer, I would have thought now would be the time he would have main evented, if only for a tester run.
Concerning Umaga, it depends entirely on the booking. If they book him like the big deal he could be, then his return could improve the brand hugely. If they book him as a jobber as Raw did, then yes it will get stale quickly. I just want to see him back and getting a good push, because he can put on some very good matches and is always entertaining to watch.

Man, a lot of Trips haters here. Gotcha guys. I see how it is. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. IMO Trips is the one keeping the brand up the most, because he's the biggest face that SmackDown has right now other then Jeff. What'd they do with Cena when he was face and getting all the ratings? He had the WWE Championship for over a year. I'm telling you that Trips isn't losing the title anytime soon. Soonest that he'll lose it is at Wrestlemania. Possibly to Taker.
