Will Evan Bourne Be Main Eventing Sooner Than Most Expected?
I haven't been watching ECW every week, but I'll watch it when I can. So, I tuned in last night and caught the opening match between Bourne/Super Crazy/Dreamer vs. Miz/Morrison/Chavo, and boy did Evan Bourne grab my attention. He hasn't gotten so over with the crowd with his unique style. When he first debuted, I thought he'd get a nice little mid card push, but he would never be anything big in the WWE, mainly because of his size. He's easily in the top 2 of most over on ECW (Him and Matt Hardy), and the WWE has surely noticed that. I truly believe he will be main eventing ECW by the end of this year.

I see him potentially main eventing by Mania. I see Matt Hardy winning the title, and perhaps John Morrison winning the title from him. Imagine Morrison vs. Bourne @ Mania? But the point being, I don't see him winning the title or even really main eventing at all until at the very least, the beginning of 09 but even that may be early.

Dude, Morrison vs Bourne would be the definition of epic. I would love to see that.
I have always loved Bourne, back from his ROH days as Matt Sydal. He has always been talented as fuck. But I thought that would be squandered in WWE, die to his size. WWE however, the fans have really gotten behind him, which is awesome. No one can do a high flying move as beautifully as Bourne.
So it looks like he may be getting to the main event of ECW. Which is great.

I could too, but even that wouldn't be too bad. He would add a lot of excitement to the match. I do however, see him being a top contender for the belt during that time or even before. He might not win it, but he will be up there.

Morrison vs. Bourne @ Mania would be unbelievable. I'd love it. But even MITB would be great. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for him.

Bourne won't ME for a long time. Look how long it took Punk, and he was way over. But yeah, i'd MTFO for Morrison/Bourne @ WM25. Thing is though, Bourne isn't strong enough to hold a main event posistion yet, though I think he will. Depends how WWE take to him, there not fans of putting high flyers in main events, never mind having them as champions.

It didn't actually take Punk very long. When you consider that he is World Heavyweight Champion on the A Show right now, and he only made his debut on ECW in mid-2006, that is a pretty damn fast push if you ask me. He won the ECW title a couple of months over a year after debuting, and then a year later he is the champ on Raw. If Bourne gets that sort of push it would be huge.
I think you can easily push guys too quick. Look at Kofi Kingston. He could have done with more time on ECW so he isn't rammed down people's throats as much. I hope Bourne gets some interesting feuds before he challenges for the ECW title, and then stays on ECW for a long time before going elsewhere. It should be slow and steady.

Im sorry Ken, I just cant see Bourne main eventing Wrestlemania. WWE likes the big musclebound type. Bourne just doesnt fit the bill for main eventing WWE's biggest show of the year. I cant even see him main eventing a Backlash pay per veiw to be honest. Outside of ECW I think he will just be a lower card to midcard wrestler.As for ECW, its very likely that he will main event. He grabs the fans attention in the ring with his flashy moves and it seems like WWE loves to whore out that underdog story. Bourne fits the bill perfectly for such an angle.
