I have a question about this match... DK mentioned something about this match becoming too common and it being HHH's match and that's not a good thing, but I just downloaded the Taker/Orton Cell match and I thought to myself wait a second.. Taker has been in a ton of these freakin' matches too so my actual question is.. How many Hell in a Cell matches have there been total because I can't remember.

The complete record is below, and yes Taker has been in 1 more than Hunter. The extra 1 was a lame tag match on Raw just before KoTR and was hardly a full PPV HiAC match.
My points were that Hunter has been in 6 of the last 8 of these matches. Now don't go getting all emo, because I know he is a hell of a performer, but I just think the concept became lost when it's just the same two people (Taker & Hunter) that take part in this match type. For example, aside from the kennel one it's always been either of these men in the ring for the PPV efforts. I think between them they have killed this concept of this match type having any excitement for me. And yes, the kennell match was awful, really awful, but I wouldn't have chosen those guys to go in a cell either.
For example the following have never (or never did) go in a HiAC match - Eddie, Benoit, Angle & Rock (only as part of a six man match), Edge, Booker, RVD..........
10/97 Bad Blood - Undertaker -vs- Michaels
6/98 Raw - SCSA & Undertaker -vs- Kane & Mankind
6/98 KoTR - Undertaker -vs- Mankind
8/98 Raw - Mankind -vs- Kane
3/99 WM15 - Undertaker -vs- Bossman
9/99 Unforgiven - Al Snow -vs- Bossman (Inc Kennell !!)
2/00 No Way Out - HHH -vs- Cactus Jack
12/00 Armageddon - (6 Man) HHH - 'Kishi - Undertaker - SCSA - Angle - Rock
5/02 Judgment Day - HHH -vs- Jericho
10/02 No Mercy - Undertaker -vs- Brock
6/03 Bad Blood - HHH -vs- Nash
6/04 Bad Blood - HHH -vs- Michaels
6/05 Vengeance - HHH -vs- Batista
12/05 Armageddon - Undertaker -vs- Orton
June seems like a nice month for a cell match, any ideas? lol
No, I wasn't trying to say anything about the concept really, I was just wondering how many there have actually been and I knew Taker had also been in a lot of them.
Maybe Taker and HHH should fight each other one last time to determine the king of the cell matches... Or not.
I totally understand what you're saying though, I used to love this match because to me it was much more interesting then a regular cage and not the idea has basically been destroyed not only because these two were involved so much but because there just have been too many period.
Now the elimination chamber is my new favorite gimmick match but they are starting to overuse that as well. IMO they should just stick it at New Year's Revolution or another event and keep it once a year. Also, SD! has never had a chamber match so that'd be intersting as well.
HIAC doesn't feel special to me anymore. It's like how a steel cage match feels very ordinary now when it used to be a big deal.

They've done a great job at getting Edge over as the biggest heel and showing people he deserved to be in the main event(somethng i've been telling you all for a year).
