SmackDown! Review (Contains Spoilers) Fri, Apr. 14

I love the SmackDown! theme music. In my opinion WWE has great taste in music.

The show started off with Booker T and Sharmel heading to the ring for a promo. The King Of The Ring throne was in the middle of the ring. I have a feeling Booker is winning this, cause Sharmel is already a Queen, so this makes sense and it would make for some funny ass segments.

This King Of The Ring Tournament should have been a PPV, but whatever, beggars can't be choosers lol.

Booker basically said that he will be the next King and shit. The promo was funny and Booker was good and I believe the reason is Sharmel. She totally rejuvinated his career. Booker dancing with the robe and throne made me laugh. The party ended when Bobby Lashley speared Booker T into next week.

As bad as these duo can be sometimes, I still like Tazz and Cole better than the RAW's trio. Three announcers are too many imo. Get rid of Coach and lets see what The King and Joey can do.

Spanky and Nitro faced each other next. I like Spanky and I really dont mind the mask, but those pants gotta go. Nitro has really improved this past year. Kendrik is innovative and I really liked that move where he reversed a neckbreaker into a face smasher. Kendrik took the win after a victory roll.

Also I liked when Paul London flew outside of the ring onto Joey...he looked like he was really flying.

I dont know why, but that segment with Booker reminded me of Earnest Miller...I really miss that guy. Was I his only fan???

I wish I had WWE 24/7. They aired a video package on the history of ECW Barely Legal and the battle between Tazz and Sabu...AWESOME stuff :up:

Paul Burchill came out next and how impressive is this guy? Burchill, as silly as his gimmick is, can wrestle pretty good and his finisher his just Incredible.

Because of what happened last week, William Regal has to now dress the way Burchill says. And Burchill is now dressing Regal as a Lady...Lady Regal to be more precise. Regal is gonna have to dress like that until Buchill loses a match. The segment was funny and all, but lets hope this doesnt drag on for months. Burchill won his match of course (against a jobber).

Kurt Angle was intervied by that black chick and he said that Randy Orton will PAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! He should be renamed Mr. Intensity.

Up next a KOTR Qualifying Match as Matt Hardy faced The Road Warrior.
I dont mind Animal now, he looks like a badass. Anyway, this match ended before it even started. Twist Of Fate and Matt comes out with the win.

Another Rey Rey video package and I still cant believe Rey Mysterio is the Champ.....10 years ago someone like him would have never been champ. Great stuff by WWE :up: :up: :up:

Has anyone watched that Jake The Snake Roberts DVD? I am dying to watch that. WWE makes amazing DVD and I read today that they are making a new one. It's going to be about the WWE Championship...I think I might purchase that one, as it will feature alot of old matches, mostly Bruno's ones.

I still think this guy won't last 6 months.

Teddy Long came out and announced that the US title Match between JBL (Champ) and The Rabid Wolverine will now be a Steel Cage Match...this should be good. Both these guys are awesome in steel cages.

They both worked hard in this match. I loved the way both of them payed tribute to Eddie Guerrero by both performing the 3 Amigos. Also, how cool was that Russian leg swip by JBL on Benoit from the top rope???
FK I hate Benoit sometimes tho...enough with those chops already

The match ended when JBL low blowed Benoit and escaped tha cage. I think the union between JBL and Jillian will soon come to an end, as Jillian accidentally smashed the cage door in JBL's face.

How funny it is that Rey is the World Champion and JBL is the US Champion??????

I love managers and Daivari makes a great one. He is awesome. He came out with his man, The Great Khali and this guy is huge. Lets hope the WWE uses him properly. He shouldn't be in the ring for more than 5 minutes and should definitely dominate matches.

SEE no EVIL will be coming out on May 19 and even tho I am not into this type of movies, I am dying to see this one. Kane looks freaky in this flick.

Tag Team action is next and its great to see SmackDown! actually featuring these. The Mexicools came down in their lawn mowers and I love these guys. Too bad they cant speak english, they could have been huge stars. Also nice to see Psicosis paying tribute to Eddie Guerrero by still wearing the arm band. They faced Simon Dean's team The Geminis. These guys are alright and they came off with the win. I think these guys are going to win the Tag Team Titles soon.

What happened to Gregory Helms? Its been the second week in a row now, that he hasnt been featured on SmackDown!....I thought he was the Cruiserweight Champion Oh well..........

This show has been alright so far and imo has been better than RAW. They need more high profile Superstars tho, especially now with Randy Orton gone.

Main Event time and Kurt Angle will be facing Randy Orton in this King Of The Ring First Round Match.

Too bad Orton is leaving, this guy is a great heel. This match was really good even tho it was short and Kurt Angle is just amazing. Both of them worked very hard. Alot of dangerous spots here. Kurt Angle won by making Orton tap out to the Ankle Lock. After the match, Kurt kept attacking Randy until finally breaking his leg (storyline).

Overall this show was good. Sure, the World Champion wasn't there but they had 2 great matches.

Great review Ace.. I'm not sure if I'll be home tomorrow so I thought I'd read your post and it sounds like is wasn't a half bad show. Someone was saying on anohter forum that the big guy got the mic this week and was horrible, is this true?

I really think SD! should feature the cruisers more. I mean, Spanky and London are fine I suppose going after the tag titles, I saw their match from last week against MNM and that looks like a great rivalry. I'd put a diva with them though to rival Melina..that'd be cool.

But Helms, Kash, and Noble, etc.. should be getting some tv time because the X-division is mad popular in TNA and I think it'd spark more interest in SD! if they started going down that road.

It's horrible about Orton, I'll post my thoughts in the thread I just made about him.

Where was Rey this week?

You are right, Big Khali did take the mic and I think he was speaking english

, but I didnt understand one word...I actually loved it, it suited his character.

It's a shame the X-Division is not given any time. I would love to see some high flying action. Guys like Kash, Helms and definitely deserve to showcase their talents.
