Rep Power: 25 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | One Angry Christian I just sent the WWE an email complaining about the segment in the Church on this weeks Raw, and thought I'd copy it out for you guys. I'm rather proud of it. I found the segment with Mr. & Shane McMahon in the church on this weeks Raw to be both tasteless and highly offensive. With all the trouble in the World regarding the depictions of the prophet Muhammed in a comic strip, would you not feel it is time that people can have faith in a religion without fear of mockery, prejudice, or hatred. Had the segment been conducted to insult any of the more, shall we say heated, religions, I'm sure you would have found yourselves the recipient of a tremendous media backlash. As it is, I'm sure Mr. McMahon will just grin to himself and keep on thinking he's bigger than God, when in fact he's just a small man with a tan to rival Paris Hilton, and an ego that can only be viewed from another planet. Congratulations.

I personally thought the segment was downright hilarious, but I also thought at the same time.."Man, there are going to be some pissed off people after this" and in my opinion rightfully so. Religion should NEVER be brought into wrestling as its bound to offend someone. Somehow I bet HBK harnesses the strength of god or some corny crap. Vince will probably start seeing all sorts of wacky shit happening to him and he will beg for gods forgivness. That type of thing.

For me, the thing that was really insulting was the gargling of the holy water, and spitting it out like he was HHH. I don't know. It just got to me.

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | I think religion is just fine to be made fun of, that's what I don't care if they make fun of the "prophet" Mohammad. I wasn't offended at all by the segment. If anything I just thought it was really cheesy(like 1990/1991 cheesy) and a little too long. It did have some funny moments though, like the credit card donation thing and Shane stepping away when Vince dared God to strike him down if he was lying. |
