Wrestlemania Preview: Carlito/Masters vs. Show/Kane

I'm not going to spend a lot of time on everyone's background in this match or how the match came about.. There really isn't much history behind it.

Instead we should take a look at both teams seperately and where they should go from here...

I fully expect Carlito and Masters to walk out as champions and I'll tell you why. It's not because they are rising stars and can't afford to lose a Mania match. Maybe that's part of it, but the whole reason behind this should be to set up a feud with Carlito against Masters in the near future.

We've seen the backstage promos and the in-ring work and it's obvious that these two mix well together. I'm not sure who should be the heel and face as of yet, maybe they should both be tweeners, but I love the idea of them feuding for a couple months at least.. I've mentioned it before, there should be a slow build to this. Tension forms in the team but they still find a way to solve their issues or so we think, they still find a way to win matches when they have to but all along they are jealous of each other. Maybe Carlito is jealous of Masters physique, maybe Masters is jealous of Carlito's wit, but however you do it they need to feed off of eachother here much like Rock and HHH circa '98. That's how stars are born. They grow together and push eachother to make one another better.

On the other side we have Show and Kane. I'm guessing the plan is to make these two face eachother post-mania. I'm not sure I like that idea. It gets neither man nowhere. The problem with these two is that this team is what has actually made them interesting of late and them breaking up and going back to fulltime singles action is just revisiting something that hasn't worked in years. Kane is stale. Show is over but not in a way where you'd book him to win main events or even be in main events. He's like a special attraction and maybe that's the only way he can be treated at this point. Unless of course they ship the man to SD! and he becomes an unstoppable force but they never seem to follow through with that. He always gets fed to the top dog of the show sooner then later to make "The Man" look impressive.

Kane should be psychotic. Maybe have him actually get burnt for real this time, bring back the mask and be done with it. It's the only time I can remember Kane being good is when he was the silent killer. The less then psycho Kane has always gone around in circles and really hasn't broken out at all, what would make this time any different?

Well spotted Big Bizzle. There have been numerous overtures over the last month of Carlito and Masters being "not on the same page" and "not combining correctly" so there will be plenty of soundbites when the innevietable split comes. I think we are gonna so a somewhat slower build than usual on this one. Perhaps a couple of months of Carlito using his brain to manipulate Masters brawn and blaming him when things go wrong. If done right it could give Masters a similar push to the one Batista got coming out of Evolotion. One thing thats for sure this needs to be crafted, I don't want to be seeing cracks form until 3 months down the line. We've got to take them srious as a team before we can take a split seriously.
