...What do you think of Chris Jericho's run since his return in November last year?
Firstly, how has Jericho performed? Have his ring skills been as good as they always were? Is he just as good on the mic? Is his charisma the same etc.
Secondly, how has he been booked? Do you like his tweener character? Do you think he should have been booked better? Should he have been given better feuds?
I will give my thoughts later.

I'd like to start by saying I'm a fan of Jericho. With that said, I think his return has been a total dud. He comes back with months of viral build-up, has his big return and announces he's going to save us from Orton. Has one title match with him at a lower tier pay-per-view and then what does he do? He starts feuding with an announcer. Granted that it was JBL but an announcer none-the-less. He gets hot-potatoed the IC title for no reason other than that Jeff Hardy can't keep away from the drugs and has done nothing with it since.
Sure, we've gotten a few decent matches from him. But that's about it. He came back with all kinds of hype to wind up right back where he was; the king of the mid-card. I don't want to condemn him already but it seems like he's just treading water again. He'll get a few random title matches but still remain the ultimate intercontinental champion.
If I were running the company I'd plant the seeds for a Jericho v HHH title feud starting at or shortly after Summerslam, build it up real good until the fans are begging for it and then have Jericho take the title from the heel HHH at Survivor Series.

I think the main thing for Jericho's return to me is that he has shown that he has still got it. I bet a lot would agree, that we all expected his return to be a lot different. I didn't think he would be back into the mid card this early in his return.
I do think that he still has a lot left, and he will continue to do good. He's had some good matches so far, and his mic skills have been up to par.

I loves Jericho's return, but its pretty obvious that he needs to be on the main event spot. this guy paid his dues and he also showed that he still can be a main eventer when he fought orton at Armageddon. its pretty unfortunate that he cant because of all the backstage politics B.S.

The reason why Jericho isn't in the main event scene anymore is because he was a total failure.
Ever since August 2005, I have been watching fans talk about the day Chris Jericho returns. Depending on the year, people were predicting he'd return at the Royal Rumble (2006 and 2007), Wrestlemania (22 and 23) and even more shows once the Save_Us promos began. Well finally he did came back, but the reaction wasn't fitting for someone who fans have been going crazy over wanting him to return for years. I'm willing to look past his matches for now, seeing how there would obviously be some ring rust. But the most disappointing thing has been Jericho's mic talents. There were several notches below what we're used to.
The main reason why I believe Chris Jericho's return has been a failure thus far (Although things are looking brighter) was fan's "Memories". Since he took his break in 2005, fans have been building him up as the perfect wrestler. Incredible in the ring and even better on the mic. When in reality, he was only decent in the ring. Whenever you talk about his greatest matches, they're against top in ring wrestlers as Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit and Steve Austin. However, how many incredible matches did he have with wrestlers who weren't fantastic in the ring? Outside of his WM 19 match with Michaels, can any of you name just one great match of his in 2003? I'll give you a shinny green rep if you can think of one because I know I can't. Now, I'm not saying Jericho has ever been horrible, however; I am saying that his good matches were against wrestlers who excelled at putting on good/great matches.
So, I will say his return has been a disappointment, but one that we, the fans mainly brought on.

If memory serves, Christina/Jericho/RVD from Unforgiven 2003 was pretty good. Other than that was he ever in the situtaion to have a great match? He was booked quite poorly that year, 9 out of 10 times he was in multi-man matches where the focus was on other people fueding.
Whilest I am a big fan of Jericho and I do think he is a fantastic wrestler, I don't think his return was that good. The build up with the viral videos was really well done and was a great way of doing it, but on the night whilest it was a great moment, there were several things that annoyed me. They drew out the Save_us video for two long, Jericho's promo went on for two long, the crowd weren't into it as much as I'd have liked them to have been.
As someone said, the booking of him has been shit so far. Comes back and hes on the awesome mission rid us of Orton only to get side-tracked in a fued with a retired commentator, over what? A slight knock during a match, seems ridiculous. Then they build the fued up as a personal blooody bitter grudge only have it blown off before Wrestlemania, then give him the IC title coz the champ was junkie, and now he rarely defends it.
I also touched on this in another thread, his promos aren't as good as they were beforehand. Jericho's awesomeness has always come from how outrageous and obnoxious he is, so far I've really yet to see him go into full-on five-minute-rant-on-ass-cream-mode. His look doesn't help. Before he wore colourful tights, had extravagent hair, etc. Now he looks kinda generic. His ring ability is still great in my eyes (though he hasn't had a great match since returning, due to booking) but there is obviously some ring rust.

To be honest I agree with Jim in this respect. What is wrong with Jericho being King of the midcard? I think Jericho should have been World Champion as a face back in 2001-2002, but I don't think he should have been kept in main event at this stage. Jericho, for most of his career, has been a midcarder, and a great one at that. I think if he is going to get pushed to the title, they can wait a fair while yet, because it would be ridiculous to have someone return after two years and within a few months, hold the World Title. That just makes the rest of the roster look bad, and that is the kind of thing TNA do when they sign someone.
I would say that Jericho has potential to be a great World Champion in the future, but it may be on Smackdown rather than Raw. I feel that on Raw, there are currently better options for WWE Champion, and I can't see Jericho being handed the strap anytime soon with guys like Orton, Cena, Triple H, Kennedy, CM Punk (I still think he will cash in on Raw) etc. Even Shawn Michaels should get another reign before Jericho does. Smackdown is a different story, because I believe he could make a great World Champion, and they need something new in the title picture soon.
As for his overall performance since his return, I don't see what people are complaining about. Again, I think to an extent Jim was right. Us Jericho fans did make him out to be a bigger deal than he was, but when I was hyping his return, I was not suggesting that he should be World Champion, I was just happy that we were going to see Jericho matches and hear Jericho promos again, and I don't think either of these things have been below expectations. I personally loved his return promo, and have loved his promos since, especially the Highlight Reel segments with Batista and HBK. The one when he gave HBK the award for his acting was gold. I think the decision to turn him heel/tweener was a very good one, and has made his character very interesting at the moment. I love Jericho as a total dick. I think he was epic as a face in 2000 and I want to see that Jericho again at some stage, maybe even getting that long awaited face title reign.
His matches have been good. Sure, there was a little ring rust, and lets face it, how many chances has he had to put on a great match? His first PPV match back was a hugely underrated match against Orton. Since then, he has feuded with the similarly rusty and hardly amazing in the first place JBL, and had other matches with guys like Show. A lot of his Raw matches, such as the one against Hardy, have been at a high standard, and I think at Judgment Day we may just see his first great match since his return.
