So let's do some wrestling talk, I don't do nearly enough of this anymore and there's a whole bunch of guys (blitz, 38, narc, other nerds) who I really enjoy talking about this with.

My convo today is about The Great One (The Rock to those that don't know). I mostly think about wrestling (strangely) when I'm trying to get back to sleep after the 3am whizz!! and last night I got to thinking about Rocky's feuds in WWE and how great they pretty much all were from 1997 onwards and I thought, did he have really bad feuds? And by feuds I mean matches too, this is a guy that used to get stick for not being great in the ring, but I was always pretty much entertained by his match quality as well as the feuds.

I got to thinking, Hunter, Taker, Austin, Foley, Jericho, Benoit, Angle, Hogan all superb uber quality feuds, Kane, X-Pac, Booker, Faarooq, 'Kishi even those ones had their moments and weren't completely shitty. One off match with Eddie on Raw that was highly excellent. I remember one of the last times he was there he had this awesome mic battle with Randy Orton about whose grandfather kicked whose grandfather around...that would have been an awesome feud.

Okay, it just came to me Billy Gunn.....that's the one that sucked big time, but....well I just wanted to say I suppose that you never realise how great something is till it's gone.

Well, I think people knew how Great The Rock was. He didnt need to leave to find that out.

The feud with Billy was kinda shit, but no one is pefect lol. But even that feud had great moments. My favorite promo infact, was the one The Rock cut against Billy. The one where he talks about God coming down from Heaven to talk to Billy...man, just thinking about it, I'm laughing.

I never understood why people used to say that The Rock wasn't that good of a wrestler. His matches were always entertaining like you've said. His matches with Austin, Foley and Hogan will go down as classics. Especially the ones with Austin.

I sure wish he was still around. Imo he is the Greatest wrestler WWE has ever had.

I think he is the best ENTERTAINER the WWE has seen Narc, but best wrestler he is not.

I really miss him even though I thought he was a bit tired at the end of his WWE run. By tired of him, I mean he was always taking off to film Mummy Returns and what not, I got a bit annoyed.

But when he was back he was every bit as entertaining as I remember if not more.

Remember his little interactions with The Hurricane? I mean he elevated Hurri in two weeks higher than he had been in years.

I liked his fueds with HHH the best though. Those two were gold together in the ring.

He is the best all around wrestler ever. He may not be the greatest technical wrestler, but his charisma, mic skill and whatever else, makes him the best.

I cant think of one wrestler better than The Rock.

So did you guys prefer his feud with Hunter when he was the heel, or when Hunter was the heel?

I preferred the feud with HHH as heel. I always hated it HHH as a face. The Rock can play both roles to perfection, but I think he was at his best as a face.

His feud with Austin was awesome tho. Imo that's his best feud.

I don't know. I thought Hunter made a pretty good face when aligned with the rest of DX, but I'd probably (if pushed) go for Rock as the face

Hunter was a great face leading D-X. I agree there Explosive One.

The Rock just has this quality where you can't look away. because you know no matter what he'll be entertaining. WWE is in desperate need of a star like Rock who can have the crowd in the palm of his hands wheter heel or face), who can go in the ring and just has the look of a superstar all over.

I agree with everyone on The Rock here.. I always have felt the same way. I too prefered the rock and hhh when rock was the face. Rock was an ultimate babyface the likes of which we may never see again, and IMO Triple H is the best heel the company has ever had. EVER.
