Monty Brown

I tell ya. When I was watching TNA six months ago I loved this guy. Now, man he annoys the shit out of me.

Yeah The Pounce. Whoopie.

What are your thoughts?

I read an opinion about him recently which was interesting. He had a lot of momentum up to the singles PPV match with Christian, but he didn't look too good there and a lot of people said it showed up how far behind in progression he is behind someone like Christian who has a ton of experience.

It was also mentioned that, unlike a lot of the TNA guys, he takes very very few independent bookings. He is one guys that needs as much in-ring experience away from the TV cameras as he can get. Guys like AJ and Daniels have wrestled all over the world and learnt their craft. Monty, even on TV matches, rarely wrestles more than a squash outside of PPV matches. He needs more ring time to gain more experience in order to get to the next level.

I think he's been handled incorrectly. He should have never been gien a title match so soon and he should have never turned heel so soon. Also, he hasn't improved much in the ring in a long time. Before he was just green, or so I thought.. Now I'd be worried that he'll never be a good worker. He was also good on the mic but hasn't thrown out new material in ages.

The way Samoa Joe has been booked in his undefeated streak is brilliant. Although, he's a great in-ring performer and shouldn't be confused with Monty. I see no reason for TNA to give this guy big money now, or for WWE to be interested in him. I think the Monty Brown storm has come and gone and it was more like a drizzle then a hurricane.

I used to LOVE this guy. I havent watched TNA in a long time (except when Dan posted Impact 2 weeks ago).

2 bad he hasnt improved. He had the looks, the charisma and the mic skill back then.

Thats a good point. I didnt even realize he was the same Monty Brown that played for the Patriots. Haha. He was pretty damn good for a couple years with us too.

I dont know why I didnt put two and two together.

He was on the Super Bowl team that played against Green Bay. I thought the Pats played really well in that game seeing as they were totally outmatched.
