Shawn Michaels easily, if you go just by his storyline with JBL, his despair and the emotion in his voice. Also the Ric Flair match was also very well done. Yeah it looks like I am agreeing but still.
Looking back at the 90's, he sold the jackass prankster. Some of the times I found him funny, other times I wanted to punch him in the face. He wasnt afraid to strip down to his thong to make people laugh either. These days he is able to sell the victim role. He shows a great deal of emotion, and he has those puppy dog eyes. I would feel sorry for him if... He didnt screw Bret! HBK is still able to pull off some comedy angles too, like the DX commercial for the Elimination Chamber. I couldnt stop laughing while he was ranting about how hard the chamber was to put together. The part about the kids wanting to play with the box in the end was funny and just so true.
Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho. Both are great in every sense. On the mic in any role, with facial expressions, and selling. Everything (with the exception of the occasional oversell) they do looks legitimate and helps the product in many, many ways.
If CM Punk was pushed he'd be up there too >.>

So I guess I'm the only one who thinks Michaels is a terrible actor and his faux Mickey Rourke impression makes him more irritating than lovable?
I kind of agree with you. I love his ring work, but to be honest a lot of the time his acting is way over the top. I don't think he is really a good actor at all, but to be honest, not many wrestlers are. Foley was probably the best I have seen or at least one of them. So much raw emotion.
Right now I would probably say Jericho and Edge are my favorites. Both play their heel roles to perfection, particularly Jericho in recent weeks. He has the cold, serious heel down perfectly.

Agreed. His promo at Armageddon was the just plain awful.
I simply can't believe Randy Orton hasn't been mentioned yet. Orton sells better than anyone in WWE right now. Every single time he gets hit I really believe he's injured and hurting. And his promo work has improved in leaps and bounds since his debut.
Jericho would be my second pick for sure.
I also thought Stone Cold was always brilliant at making you believe anything he said and did.
Yeah, orton is a definate pick. Justa simple backstage segment with orton is usually the highlight of raw nowadays.

And when there is no hope,
"I'll smoke some crack, I'll shoot some dope!"
When theres no enemies,
"I sit and stare at my T.V.
and in my ignorance,
I'll be a slave and sycophant!"
Before reading the OP, my answer would have probably been a toss-up between Michaels and Jericho. Their recent feud was just chock-full of great stuff from both of them. Wayne had a good point about JBL though. He's one of my favorite heels to watch right now. He makes his character very believable and he just oozes that "my shit doesn't stink" attitude.

Oh, it's a joke. I see. Cos what you're actually saying is look at how bad Morrison is at everything he does outside of the ring. I agree.

That would fall under ring work, this is for acting in promos and such. Therefore, does Orton feel like a stone cold, heartless, killer when he cuts a promo in the ring? For me its a no because while he is supposed to be a ruthless heel, Kozlov Knox, and son on show being uncaring the same way as Orton. He has to do something else than stare off into space, with no facial expression, to get my attention.
